Classy Craftsmen

When I called Dave he came out the same day and it was finished the next. He is a very nice man and he did a good job.

The men showed up promptly at 7am, were professional and friendly and completed work efficiently. Everything was cleaned up afterwards and work completed quicker than expected.

Dave's worker showed up and did visual inspection in bathroom and lower level beneath bathroom. He lifted up cabinet and determine the cause was lack of shims on one side. Ended up being a small job. He inserted enough shims to raise cabinet to original position and caulked. I was very pleased it wqs small problem, that he found problem so quickly, and did qualiy work. Thanks Dave and Allan.

They were great, did a good job, and I would recommend to others.

The painters at Classy Craftsmen were fine, but the owner wasn't too nice. I had called him after I purchased my Big Deal and never heard back from him. We wanted some handyman work around the house, and he said he didn't do that anymore and the Big Deal was old. I told him there the Big Deal said there was no expiration date. I told him I had it right there and it said "Does not expire." Mostly what we do, is people apply that coupon to big jobs, for like putting in a bathroom or a basement. I told him I just needed some handyman work. He told me it could be three or four weeks before he could get to me. By the time he got back to me, it was so far past. My house was already on the market and we had to find other people to come in and do that work. So, I ended up telling him he could do some painting in my new house. He said they would do the painting, but that we'd have to keep him in mind if we do have bigger jobs, because he said they were just going to lose money on this. I don't know why they didn't think of that before they did the Big Deal. It was going to be a really quick job. He said that was fine and sent his people out. The guys who came did a really good job. I was really impressed with the quality of the work that they did. They were very nice and very respectful. They kept the area cleaned and cleaned up after they went. It looks good. The two painters, themselves, were wonderful. The whole time, the owner acted like he was doing me some grand favor.

Interior painting, several rooms, some work on kitchen cabinets to accommodate new fridge, several handy-man services. Work went very well, everyone involved was friendly and professional. They responded to some last minute changes and worked with our tight deadline. I'd recommend them for any similar services.

We hired Classy Craftsmen to paint the exterior brick, replace rotten pieces of exterior wood trim; paint the exterior wood trim; and, install and paint the frame of a newly installed sliding glass door. Classy Craftsmen planned and executed the work with a high degree of thoroughness and professionalism. We are very pleased by the results (pictures included with the review) and would recommend the contractor without reservation.

Inspected the roof and sealed around vents and chimney.

Dont know how the work is but he appears to do good work when he gets hired, but for me he just was not very professional.He canceled an appointment which I was fine with, things happen then the next day he was late and texted the wrong person to say he was going to be late. then texted me when he was going to be there this was an hour passed the scheduled time and asked me I could live with it. I told no I could not live with it and told him I would not needing his services. He then texts back I was very angry at first but was glad I found out the type of character you have before I started working for you. So he canceled and he texted the wrong person and he was late but it is my fault I did not want to hire him.

The service provider was excellent, punctual, professional, and performed quality work. I'm beginning to think I could have gotten more for the day than I asked for, but overall very pleased with the result! I would use them again!

The quality of work was outstanding. When I realized that this job was going to involve going in through the drywall, my biggest fear was that you'd be able to tell that a hole had existed in the wall. By the time I came back to look at the work, you'd never be able to tell how extensive the work was. We replaced all of the faucets from builder grade silver to oiled bronze to update the house and it was all done perfectly. On the bathtub, the existing fittings didn't match the new faucet, even with them being the same brand, and they were able to retrofit the hardware to get it to fit without having to damage the tub or the external tile work. I'm impressed! Our bathrooms look like new now!

My original expectations for this project were that a small square was going to be cut into the wall of my basement to install basic recessed glass shelves and that it would be untrimmed. Classy Craftsmen overdelivered by leaps and bounds by extended the shelving around the corner and then trimming the whole section in oak framing that was an exact match for the oak framing around the mirror in the same space. Because the design took up the wall space I had used for a stemware rack, Dave looked for a ceiling mount solution for stemware, procured it locally, and installed it. The best part is, regardless of the fact that the design they delivered was far more complex than what was quoted, they kept true to the original price. The stemware rack was the only additional cost on the entire project but it still cost less than the racks I was using and ended up getting a refund for! The area looks amazing now and turned a cramped basement bar into a functional area that my friends and I now spend tons of time at.

Out of all the projects we used Classy Craftsmen for, this was by far the most custom. I had very exact specifications for my home theater and home networking. This project involved extensive drywall repair, electrical work, wiring, and general creativity. These guys did a great job and I ended up with a unique home theater setup in my basement. The goal in addition to getting the 5.1 speakers wired and mounted along with the ceiling mount projector, was to install a projector screen that was located slightly away from the wall so that it could be backlit with RGB LED rope. These guys were able to execute this highly customized vision exactly to my specs and I now have a 120" LED backlit screen that is unlike anything I've seen before. There are some similar off the shelf solutions but thanks to Classy Craftsmen, this concept was executed at a lower price than the parts alone would have been to do this via a commercial product. Furthermore, all of the drywall work after the wires were ran was so seamless, you could never tell just how extensive the wiring was.

When we purchased our new house we knew the first thing on our to-do list was to completely gut our existing kitchen along with the floor and install new cabinetry, countertops, and flooring along with new appliances. I spoke with three different providers for this job and ended up selecting Classy Craftsmen based on both their Angies list review and the fact that they beat the price on the project (for the exact same brand products) by leaps and bounds. Now that the project is complete I'm also blown away at the quality of work and professionalism of this team, especially given such competitive pricing. Dave and his crew were excellent at what they did. I would consider my wife and I as having pretty high standards and Classy Craftsmen surpassed all of them. Even small details that we asked for weren't forgotten. When there would be a correction needed or a slight change, they were extremely quick to make it right. I've heard horror stories from friends about contractors quoting a project, then doing additional work and then charging them more for it, but after all the dust had settled, they always honored their quoted prices and even threw in a few upgrades! After finishing the kitchen, we've continued to use Classy Craftsmen for additional projects and have continued to have a great experience. We've had them continue on to do updates to bathrooms, custom basement work, and even smaller things such as fixing leaking showers. I'll have to review some of the other projects separately but I can say these will be our go-to people for any house projects in the future.

Excellent experience. I bought a "Big Deal" to help tie up all the loose ends I had around the house. Greg and Brady showed up on time and were very professional. Brady focused on mudding and caulking while Greg handled most of the carpentry work. I really liked that each of them did what they were good at. I feel like I got a lot done in 8 hours.

I purchased an Angie's List Deal for a discount on 8 hours of work intending to address a list of items to be repaired on a house for sale. The wait for a carpenter was 2-3 weeks and the extent of the window work appeared to be larger than I expected, so we agreed on this one project. I told Dave which days the house would be unavailable due to the moving crew. I also asked for the work to be done in one or two days in order to minimize questions from prospective buyers. Dave emailed the day before to start work on our moving Friday. I had to ask for a different day to ensure I didn't have multiple crews at the house on the same day and an unfinished project over a weekend. On the first day of the scheduled work, the carpenter and his assistant arrived promptly at 8am. They removed all of the rotted wood and planned the replacement materials, which took about 1/2 day. I understood someone would return the next day. On that day, I returned to the house and waited 45 minutes. I called, only to found out that the finish carpenter was ill and was not working that week. Dave did send the first carpenter and painter to finish that same day. The extent of wood rot/replacement was difficult to ascertain prior to removal. Dave did a good job explaining this and his crew did a good job keeping the project scope limited. (Actually, they could have removed more than they did.) The finish carpentry looks very nice and was well fitted and well caulked. The painter did a neat and clean job. They left all the rotted boards in a moving box in the garage for me to address. The final bill did not include the Deal or my prepayment. Dave provided the credits immediately when I pointed it out. I would use Classy Craftmen again for projects in which I am available to keep close oversight and when timing is not critical. They were clear that they prefer larger projects and repeatedly suggested other work I might have them do.

Arrived on time. Had checked on details of the job the day before so was prepared with the correct tools. Did all of the jobs listed above. Careful on the install and thorough on the clean up

Apparently, when I requested the handyman service, I didn't supply my e-mail or telephone (how did that happen?) I finally got in touch with Dave by phone and verbally listed the jobs that were in need of his services. Dave did mention that they do larger jobs and he'd send the results of his workmanship by e-mail; the pictures were gorgeous! In any event, Dave said that they could humbly do the work that I needed. I wanted to have all the items on hand to complete the tasks and told him, I'd connect with him when that was done (over the weekend). My husband and I quickly gathered the necessary items and I left a message with Dave that we were ready for his services. I've called almost daily over the last 3-4 weeks with no response from him. I've sent at least 3 e-mails ...again with no response. Friends of ours (on Angie's List) gave us a glowing report about Dave Beck's services. In fact, that's why we signed on to Angie's List because of the glowing report ...they were thrilled with his work! We would like to redo our bathroom and I stated this in one of my e-mails with the hope that would prompt him to contact me, but it didn't work. I contacted your main office over the weekend regarding not hearing from Classy Craftsman. I'd like to try another handyman service similar to the one already paid for at CC.

It was a perfect gift. My mother was relieved to finally have someone come and take care of her growing to-do list. Dave came out to her house and helped her evaluate what needed to be done and how much time it would take. They agreed on a list of things to be completed, including drywall repair in several places and light plumbing repair. The job took the full 8 hours and then a few extra, completed by two different workers on two different days. The charge for the extra hours was very fair. My mother was happy with their work and the gift ended up being a great deal! We will definitely consider using Classy Craftsmen again in the future.

We were looking for roof repair, but ended up using the first roofer who returned our call. We did not contact this company.

I called Classy Craftsmen and left a message regarding their big deal that was 2 painters for a day for 549. Dave promptly returned my call and answered the questions that I had. I called him back later in the day to schedule the service. From the description of the job that I gave him, he suggested that my job may be able to get done in one day with one painter, which would actually save me money! He was able to schedule the painting job for the very next day, which happened to also be a Saturday! His painter Harlan came and discussed with me what I wanted done as I was having 2 different colors painted and had an accent wall. Once he knew the plan he began setting up and went to work. He had me look at the job after the first room was completed and then after he was done to make sure it was up to my liking. When he was finished he cleaned up after himself and left the room in the same condition as he found it. I felt very safe having him in my house with just myself and newborn at home. I am very pleased with the job that Classy Craftsmen did and plan on using them in the future!

I purchased the "Garage Cleanup" special on Angie's List Big Deals. The deal included 6 hours of handyman time. Dave's son came on Labor Day and did a fantastic job of cleaning out my garage and helping me decide what to put back in, where, and what to get rid of. My garage has never looked so good! He got done in less than 6 hours, so he mowed my lawn as well. This was a really positive experience and I appreciate the help.

The hallway bath had aged wall paper. I bought a big deal, and got contacted by David the next day. We set the date of work on the long weekend. The painter sent by Dave removed the wall paper and cleaned the wall the first day. Then in the next day he came with the paint I picked. He pained the wall nicely. The total working time is 10.5 h. The hallway bath looks totally different. Nice job. Thanks!

We purchased a big deal coupon for a garage clean out which included up to 6 hours of labor for a 2 car garage. The owner's son David came out to do the job. He was extremely professional and a hard worker. After taking everything out of the garage he proceeded to clean the windows and blinds and then the floor. More importantly he helped organize things back in some sense of order. As a result of this we got rid of a truck worth of stuff for the dump and multiple boxes of things to donate to charity. The garage looks 100% better and he had some good ideas on how to put it all back together. This allowed us to focus on sorting the items into the keep or get rid of piles. I would definitely hire him again and would recommend this service to others that have garage clutter or have not seen the back corners for cleaning in some time.

Nice guy cleaned up everything...and put things back in a different place than I knew about. That was my fault, because I didn't tell him where to put things! He came back to move things so that I could reach them. Nice people. Good service.
