Classy Craftsmen

I purchased a promotion through Angies list and Dave Beck came out to see the area to paint. The painter who did the job showed up on time and he was very good about cleaning up and protecting furniture etc. He did and excellent job .

The old house we live in didn't have an outside dryer vent. We called, got an estimate within a couple of days, and had the work scheduled. He came out right on time, worked efficiently, and cleaned up any trace he had ever been there. Except for a professional-looking vent and new gas valve. Couldn'thave gone more smoothly.

They were great. I am very happy with the work. The employees of the company did the work. They were on time. They were out at 7:00 a.m. The work was done in one day, which was the time they said they would take. The painting job was beautiful. The work was so much easier than doing it by me. They worked very efficiently and the end result was very nice. I got a special and good deal on the price. I paid $1200 for the service. I plan to use them again in the future.

I didn't end up using them for either job. Their estimates were enough higher than other bids that I could get a fine job done for less than their bids.

He offered to sell a rug for me, but he never called back. He did have to get some things for the bed which I apprecitated.

Previously had him for an $8000 job and was very satisfied. It was exterior painting for the home, he put in a brand new door, and stained my deck and fence. For this job I had him out for the estimate. He spent an hour answering questions and was very helpful. After that meeting we never heard back from him and never got an estimate or heard anything at all.

The painters were very professional. They insured I knew what work was going to occur. They arrived early. They spent quite a bit of time prepping to insure the final coat of paint would look good. Dave Beck suggested alternatives along the way. They were able to reuse some materials, reducing the estimate. They did a very good job.

This large project was done with the upmost care and consideration for our home. Furniture and carpeting was covered and construction mess cleaned up everyday. Everything was removed from my home/garage and disposed of. All items were delivered to me and the company and the workers handled all furniture moving and replacement. They will be completing another full bathroom remodel, followed by a full kitchen remodel. We are very happy with everything and no issues with any of the employees or how the work was done.

They were a bit pricey, but the quality of the work was good.

They are very professional and competent. They are not very good about communication, they are slow to get back to you and not punctual. I do feel like they are competent, though. We will for sure be hiring them for the work.

He just came over (late and with his young child) for an estimate on some outside steps that needed replacing. I never heard back from him.

Dave Beck was a pleasure to work with. Although he was a bit slow in getting an estimate to us, he was very prompt and delivered all services on the timing promised. He worked with us to get the best price and service for our money, even suggesting ways to do a job differently/more effectively. Dave was very professional as were his workmen and I felt very comfortable leaving them in my home when I wasn't there. His interior painters did an outstanding job prepping and painting our plaster walls and ceiling, making them look brand new! The painting was done to perfection - I love this room now. I would highly recommend them! The only work I wasn't extremely happy with was the cement repair work - it was not as professional and polished as the rest of the work done by Dave's crew. However, Dave immediately addressed the issue and corrected the work at no charge. I will definitely use Classy Craftsmen again!

He never called back after our initial interaction. He could have called back, even if the quote was out of my price range. I would not call him again.

Dave Beck had given us an estimate of work to be done five years ago. We didn't complete the work at that time, but decided we finally wanted him to do the work. Contacted him via e-mail, and he said he could give us an updated estimate, that his business had grown, so he could definitely help us. Date and time of meeting was set (5/17/2010). He called before meeting and said he was running late and would be 1/2 hour late. I said okay. He came and looked at what we needed done. He made suggestions on other projects he could do and said he would get us an estimate (via e-mail) by the end of the week. Didn't hear from him by the end of that week. E-mailed him asking where the estimate was. He replied to say he was busy but would have it to us in another week. Well, here it is July 2, and we never did receive an estimate. This was very disappointing. If he didn't have time to do the work or apparently even give an estimate, why would he take up our time and his? Why didn't he just tell us he was too busy? Not professional at all.

The Classy Craftsmen were great. Each person that came to my house to do work was very professional, prompt, accommodating and did superior work. Classy Craftsmen were able to stick to the time line that they originally set. I would recommend this company to anyone!

Was late in showing up due to family medical issues which is understandable. When he showed up I took him to various places of the house to show what I needed estimates on. Not sure they would deliver the most cost effective solutions as he kept trying to upsell things on the work. For instance add cedar wood to a closet that we wanted adding or to replace a garage door with a cat door even though I did not ask about the garage door work and the cat door was sealed. To top it all off no estimate was ever sent echoing other reports.

Very well. Very high quality job, great attention to detail. I am someone who was a very strong eye for the details, and typically find that even the best contractors do a great job, but miss some of the final details. Not Dave and his crew. I can honestly say that they did a 100% excellent and thorough job. They even took the house numbers off the front porch siding, sanded them, and repainted (sprayed) them. Got permission first, didn't charge. Those are the kind of details and extra service that are rare.

They were great. Very professional, everything got done in a timely fashion. Overall, extremely pleased with the work.

No services performed; company never returned my phone call

This was our second time using Classy Craftsmen (they painted the exterior of our house 2 years ago) and the experience was just as positive this time around. They are professional and courteous, and most importantly, the attention to detail and quality is incredible! They have the best painters we've ever used - we recommend them without reservation. Dave Beck, the owner, is very knowledgeable and helpful. We had a tight deadline to get the work done and we needed help getting the project within budget. He had several creative ideas to help us save money and he made sure the work was done on time. In addition, Classy Craftsmen does almost anything needed, so it was really nice to have to deal with only one contractor to coordinate all the different projects.

I had high hopes based on the grade of "A" and the great reports listed on line for this provider. Unfortunately, I was not one of the lucky ones. I had an appointment for an estimate on Wednesday, June 2nd. Dave never showed up and never called. I called him late that afternoon to see what happened. No one answered. I did receive a call back later that night with apologies and confirmation that the appointment was missed. He agreed to show up the next day. He did follow through showing up and I was able to show him what I needed taken care of. He took a lot of notes and was very congenial, easy to talk to. Shared ideas, etc. However, it's been over a week and I've not yet seen a promised proposal in email. For my part, I failed to ask when I should expect that proposal and if I accepted the amount, terms, etc., when work could start. Maybe it's a busy time of year? Maybe he just doesn't want the work? I'll never know since a follow up call (again made by me) has not been returned in over 24 hours. I've moved on to other providers which hopefully work out much better. I need to get this house on the market and had planned to use Dave's company for A LOT of repairs that I cannot do and much more. It seemed great to find a company that was able to do so many different things.

I called this company to get bids on the following projects: Painting interior of our house, new gutters, new door. They were prompt in coming and said that they would email a bid. After 2 weeks there was still no bid so I sent them an email through Angie's List. There was no response. We have since hired a another company.

They came out and gave a very fair estimate. We gave the okay two days later. The job was completed the following two days. They did an excellent job and I highly recommend them.

Dave and his crew were very professional and courteous, and paid attention to details and were happy to answer my numerous questions along the way. The patching, crown molding, and painting work were all very high quality. They started and finished exactly when they said they would, and did a nice job cleaning up. The price was very fair for the amount of work they did.
