Classy Craftsmen

There were 2 men, one was the painter and the other was the carpenter. Both men were excellent. The painter was great, he was meticulous professional. He even went to Lowes to get paint for me for the bathroom. I would definitely use him again. The carpenter was great as well. I had a great experience with these 2 men and I was very satisfied with their work. I was a little put off by the owner Dave Beck when I spoke to him on the phone, because he told me that the job would probably be more for the painting, even though I knew it should not take more than 8 hrs to paint a 9 by 12 kitchens and a small bathroom. However, in the end the people that work for him were fantastic and I would use them again.

Dave came out quickly to look at my house in person and got back to me with an itemized estimate on everything I wanted done as well as other items he had noticed around the house that I might want fixed. Wasn't pushy at all, and didn't try to sell me on doing this or that. All the pricing was either reasonable or cheap. He was able to send his team out within a couple weeks and all of the misc jobs were completed in just about a day and a half. All of the handymen were nice guys and very professional. Would definitely use again and recommend to someone else.

Everything went well. My wife works evenings so we asked for a minimum of disturbance, complience was so much so that we didn't notice the workmen they were so quiet. We were asked to leave the door open until the paint dried which we did, but to no disruption of our schedules. From estimate to completed job workers were friendly yet unobstrsive. We are totally satisfied with Classy Craftsman and would hire again.

They do outstanding work. They are not cheap but it is pretty good. They are very professional.

It appeared to be very apparent the this contractor was not interested in the short but expensive list of updates i was requesting. This list included hardwood floors, granite countertops, and new carpet. I met with them on wednesday and expected the estimate that friday. I have not heard from them since. It has now been over a week.

I felt everyone from the owner to the workmen who arrived to do the work were nice, polite, professional and kind. They arrived when agreed upon and finished when estimated. The work done was awesome! Everything a was put back together and all the trash was removed.

Dave came out to preview the jobs and give an estimate. He was detailed in his assessment and was confident of the his ability to perform the services. Dave's crew arrived on time and were professional in their duties.

Dave installed a very nice hand rail in a short time and this will last a long time.

They did good. They were on time and the service went well.

Classy Craftsmen were great. They were here on time both days they worked on my house and finished the jobs much quicker than I had expected. They were very professional and all of the work was top notch. Any work that I need to have done in the future I will definitely be calling Classy Craftsmen

I contacted him 3 weeks ago via his website about a smaller job that would probably take about 1 day to complete. I chose him in part because he was located 5 minutes away. He never even bothered to respond, which honestly tells me all I need to know about this contractor. It seems to be a running theme in his Angieslist reviews.

This was purchased as an Angies Big Deal. I explained the work that needed to be done over the phone. No one came out to view the job before starting the work. They did an excellent job and were very neat and courteous. I would recommend them to others.

They had a quick response time and the repair worked out well, the roof has not leaked since.

Everything went well and the walls look much better. The only thing I wish I would have done is had him retape/repair other rooms since there was a lot of wait time. I was told that there would be some downtime while everything dried so I should have taken the time to notice other placed for him to repair. Overall though, I'm very happy with the work that was done.

Left the part on the deck before going to work, when i returned it was installed and working.

I bought this deal because we had a few shingles blow off our roof from a wind storm and because the roof is very high with some extreme pitches, I thought it was best we vend the work out. Considering the fact that I reached out to the owner literally minutes before I purchased the deal, and told him I was paying for it right the. I'd expected more responsiveness from him. Instead, after paying I had to contact him (two weeks after our initial discussion, and my payment) to find out when I could get the work start. He stated he didn't realize he had the payment and notification from Angie's list in queue but would get on the job ASAP. I was to put the shingles on the porch and when they were gone that meant his guy had come by. This felt like an honor system, in that there was no scheduled day so I couldn't see anyone get on the roof and begin working. I trust that the work was done but as of today 12/1/2012, I still have not received the inspection report, or any follow up contact. The work was completed some time the week off 11/11. At that said, my reason for mixed reviews on this company revolves around lack of responsiveness, and follow up. If your business model is run on an honor system, where I have to be lucky enough to be home on the day your roof inspector arrives to replace my shingles and complete my inspection, then I'd like the professional courtesy of a few touch points. Those touch points should include, "hey sir, my guy completed the work on today and we'll have the inspection report to you on xx date." Unfortunately, that was not my experience. In fact, because I haven't received the report yet my experience is still ongoing--a month after it began and a few weeks after the work was done. I marked that I would not do repeat business. If there were a 'maybe' option I would have chose that instead of 'no,' but ultimately my answer depends on the level of comprehensiveness of this inspection report and if I get it within the next business week--since I followed up via e,ail with the owner this morning.

Initially, Dave was very responsive. I explained to him what I needed in an email, and he replied that he got it, but I have not heard from him since.

I have made several calls and spoke with them (3) times and they still have not showed up for any appointments or called to follow up.

Very positive experience from start to finish. We met with Dave over a weekend and was able to agree to work terms in 2 days. Dave was mindful of our design and budget needs and illustrated both flexibility in options and creative ideas for our home. The gentlemen who worked in our home for about 3 weeks were friendly, professional and kept a clean work environment daily- helpful with a two year old in our house. We are very pleased and will work with them again.

Dave and his crew are great. The gentleman that did the work showed up on time everyday, and left the job spotless, my wife and I did not have to deal with any mess! We are very pleased with the job everything looks perfect! We have a 1920's home that has a few area's that needs some work, I'm definitely going to continue to work with Classy Craftsman for my remaining projects!

I contacted the provider through Angie's List. I received an e-mail response on 9/21/12, and called the provider per his request. I left a detailed message. I did not receive a call back. I again called on 09/26/12, left another message, and did not receive a return call.

He always does exactly what I ask him to do, and fixes any that is not up to par. His son David helps him and also does a good job, he did most of the cleaning in the house.

The only hiccups in the process were my own fault (communication error on my end & coordinating multiple contractors around the same time). Dave was understanding & simply completed the work I asked for. He offered some painting at the end, which I had planned to complete myself but it was a good price and I was SO tired of painting. The painting his guys did looked great - particularly on the bathroom walls which had a lot of blemishes/holes/etc. His guys also came up with some creative ways to mask/repair some tile damage after some necessary plumbing work in an old bathroom. (It is rental house, so I was looking to avoid having to re-tile the whole room as most of the tile was in ok shape.) I was also impressed with the garage. It is a very old detached garage that had been significantly leaning to one side. They straightened (best they could) & secured it in the new position. It looks ten times better. Overall, I think he understood that it is a rental property that isn't worth much & that I didn't want to get very fancy or throw a ton of money at it because there would likely be no return on the investment, or if re-rented, may be damaged again. I want it well-kept & safe. They did great work, but I appreciate that he kept my intentions for the property in mind as he suggested solutions. If we have projects come up at our own house I would contact him.

Classy Craftsmen were wonderful to work with throughout this project! Dave walked through the house with us, making suggestions on how to make the end results look better and, after we accepted his estimate, returned to help us select colors. His crew painted 2 rooms while we were on vacation, and we were very pleased with the results. They painted the rest of the house while we were gone another 2 weeks. Although they made a large mistake in the kitchen, once we showed Dave his crew returned 2 days later and redid the kitchen in 2.5 days (including stripping some very stubborn wallpaper). Although their bid was the highest we received, it was worth it as their professionalisma and quality exceeded our expectations.

Services not performed, no follow up after original meeting. Business Owner prided himself on Angieslist Rating along with BBB Rating which isn't deserved.
