Description of Work: We purchased windows and doors through Champion in 2015. Part of the sales pitch was that our windows and doors would be covered under warranty. We have called twice since owning our windows about minor warrant issues and all was taken care of perfectly. I called today for a issue with our screen on our french door. I gave them all my information and was told that there would be a $99 service charge for my warranty request. Apparently, management had never implemented this charge in the past and now is starting to charge customers. This is crazy to me! We paid A LOT for these windows and doors. The reason we went with Champion is the warranty we were promised by the sales person and became accustomed to since purchasing our windows. False sales tactics and very poor customer service.

 + -1 moreHAVE THE STATEMENT 'ACT OF GOD' REMOVED FROM YOUR CONTRACT. I WAS TOLD ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THAT THEIR REASON FOR BEING LATE OR NOT RETURNING CALLS WAS AN 'ACT OF GOD'. MAKE SURE, IN WRITTING, THAT IF THE JOB IS NOT COMPLETED AS PROMISED IN THE CONTRACT, WHETHER ITS THE NUMBER OF DAYS IT TAKES OR THE PREPARATION AND CLEANUP, THAT YOU CAN BE COMPENSATED MONETARILY. PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT THIS COMPANY CAN PUT A LIEN ON YOUR PROPERTY IF THEY ARE NOT PAID IN FULL. I CONTACTED THE STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE ABOUT THIS. IN ADDITION, BOTH CHAMPION AND I CONTACTED THE BBB ABOUT THIS, BUT I DIDN'T DECIDE TO PURSUE THE BINDING ARBITRATION BECAUSE I WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS IN ADVANCE. TO ME, THAT DOESN'T SEEM NEUTRAL.
Description of Work: CONTRACTED FOR 16 REPLACEMENT WINDOWS-INCLUDING ENLARGEMENT FOR PICTURE WINDOW OF 40X80. TOLD JOB WOULD BE COMPLETE IN 2 DAYS. ACTUAL-CHAMPION WINDOW STARTS ON 7-7-03, THEIR LAST DAY AT MY HOME IS 8-29-03. COMPANY SENDS 1 PERSON 'CREW'. COMPANY LATE EVERYTIME. MANY OF THE WINDOWS ARE WRONG SIZE OR NOT WHAT WAS ORDERED. DRYWALL DAMAGED AS THEY 'TRY TO MAKE ONE FIT'. MY HUSBAND IS REQUIRED TO HELP CARRY/INSTALL-AFTERALL WHO CAN CARRY/INSTALL A 40X80 WINDOW THEMSELVES. THE COMPANY KNEW THIS AND STILL ONLY SENT 1 PERSON! DEBRIS LEFT INSIDE/OUTSIDE OF OUR HOME. CHAMPION WINDOW DOES NONE OF THE CLEANUP. WE MAKE NUMEROUS PHONE CALLS, AND MAIL 3 LETTERS OF COMPLAINT, WHICH INCLUDE PICTURES. END RESULT, 275.00 TAKEN OFF OUR BILL, AS THAT WAS THE AMOUNT CHARGED BY THE PAINTER TO REPAIR THE DAMAGE DONE BY THE COMPANY. MY EXPERIENCE-CHAMPION WINDOW DOES NOT RESPECT THE TIME OR THE HOMES OF THEIR CUSTOMERS.

Description of Work: WE HAD 11 WINDOWS AND 2 NEW DOORS INSTALLED. THEY WERE INSTALLED IN THE CORRECT TIME BUT FIVE OUT OF THE 11 WINDOWS EITHER DON''T FIT OR BROKE, THEY FALL DOWN WHEN YOU OPEN THEM (WITHIN FOUR MONTHS OF INSTALLATION). ALL OF THE WINDOWS HAVE GAPS IN THEM THAT YOU CAN SEE SUNLIGHT THRU. TWO FEEL LIKE THE FRAMES ARE GOING TO FALL OUT OF THE HOUSE. I HAVE CALLED THEIR SERVICE LINE AND THEY PROMISED A SERVICE REP WOULD CALL BACK IN 3 DAYS. SO FAR IT''S BEEN OVER 8. THEY''RE POLITE ON THE PHONE BUT THEIR SERVICE IS LACKING.

WHEN THEY DID THE BACK, THEY DID THE TRIM DIFFERENTLY (CUT THE ENDS AT 45 DEGREE ANGLES) THAN THE FRONT OF HOUSE (CUT AT 90 DEGREE ANGLES). WHEN WE CALLED THEM, THEY WERE EXTREMELY COURTEOUS AND SENT SOMEONE OUT TO RE-DO ALL THE TRIM ON THE BACK SO IT MATCHED. VERY HAPPY WITH PRODUCT AND SERVICE.
