An estimate was performed within three business days and the job completed to my satisfaction within two weeks, including a week of rain, which delayed the job. They rolled the stain and sealer as I had requested, instead of spraying. I would definitely recommend Building Character, LLC for deck staining and sealing. They are not the least expensive, nor the most expensive, but they do the job when and how you agreed. That, is character.

Jared Riddell did an excellent job, making sure everything was done professionally and on-time.

Many delays with the job initially. The crew who showed up on the last day were excellent.

I have hired Building character LLC since they have “A” rating in the Angies list. Building character LLC person Jared Riddell came in for deck visit and told me my deck is poor condition and it will cost 1800 to repair. I told him that is big amount I am not ready for that. Then he reduced price to 1400 and I told him I am not ready for that. He offered discount and willing to do it for 1200. I have signed contract with even though it is big amount. On the 6/24/2016, Building character LLC team came in and did the things mentioned in the contract but they are not even close to what they agreed to but still asked me to 50% of the amount in the contract and they have promised me to complete as promised. I gave a check for $600 on the name of Building Character. On the 6/28/2016, Building character LLC team came in and did the some more work but still it not right and deck is off the concreate beams. On the 7/7/2016, two persons came to home without appointment and completed the deck paint and they did not put wax to fill the gaps and painted it. Bye the time I came in from work they have completed work and waiting for the payment. I have to ask them to fix some of the spots they missed. Also, they were asking me to pay full amount $600 not considering the amount I paid through Angies list (which is 199). They did not told me about not considering the amount I paid to the Angies list. I gave check for $400 since they threatening me that they are going to put a lien on my house. Overall Satisfaction: I am not satisfied and I am not sure how they got “A” rating. 1. I am not satisfied with the work they have done 2. Pricing differences and asking for more. 3. No appointment schedule, not on time and they walk in whenever they have time. 4. Threatened me that they are going to put lien on the house if I don’t pay the full amount mentioned on the contract.

Arrived on time & did an excellent job on the entire project.

Project delayed twice. Initial estimate of cost $ 2000 - $ 3000. Cost was $ 3, 500. On day of install, I was told to purchase 1600 sq ft of gravel for under deck – caused me to run to home depot and spend $ 150.00. I could have been informed of the gravel prior to contractor starting job. Overall, very good experience. The contractor is very thorough and makes sure job is executed per design. The contractor and crew very polite and cleaned up after each day's work. Would recommend this contractor.

Everything went well. Company showed up on time finished work to my satisfaction.

He was very professional and courteous and I will hope to use his services in the future.

We bought a $199 deck restoration deal through Building Character who subcontracted the work to J.D's Deck Restoration without any prior notice. They in turn charged 2,040.00 on top of the 199.00 we already paid. They showed up with theirs shirts half done and not the best appearance. They started on May 27th and they are not finished yet. There has been in-climate weather but when the weather was good they called and said something went out on their car and they couldn't come. We had to replace the stain color the contractor selected but would not use because he said it would not look good. So we had to buy new stain even though he selected the color. I originally selected rosewood which he said would be too light. The staining job they have done is good in some areas and not in others. They were always anxious to leave. They would leave and come back throughout the day or just sit down there and talk.

Jarred did an excellent job in letting the proper permits and having his crew do one of the best looking deck I have seen.

The first day they came out they power washed my large 2 story deck and the fort/play center. They made note of a number of boards that needed to be replaced. I picked out the color for the stain. We scheduled the return visit to finish the job for a week later. I received a call the day before they were scheduled to return to stain my deck. They needed to delay for a day or two, due to the weather we were having. They arrived promptly on the second scheduled date. They replaced the 9 deck boards we had noted on the first visit and stained my deck. It looks fantastic and almost as good a new. The young men were very professional and polite. I am very pleased with the results and happily recommend Building Character, LLC.

Jared and his crew were punctual and kept at the job well into the evening. The work was done in record time with minimal disruption. They were pleasant to work with, and made sure we were satisfied with the job before they left. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. In fact, I intend to.

The job went exactly as I wanted. The deck was cleaned one afternoon and stained on another. They even cleaned a wooden bench for me!

Took a few days to respond. He was out of town and told us he would call us when he got back the next week. Two weeks later he had still not not call. I had to call him and make an appointment for this past sunday. After he never showed up, I called him and he told us he lost our number.
