I was helping a friend move from Cincinnati to South Dakota, and had volunteered to arrange the technical side of the move. Research showed that Budget was the most affordable option (especially since a quick Google search found some coupon codes!) for a one-way rental. Unfortunately I had to get a truck with a 15' bed because that was the smallest size with towing capability, and I needed to tow her car along with us. The rental process was a little drawn out, like this location was not accustomed to the rental process (it is a Budget kiosk within a Pep Boys store, operated by Pep Boys employees). After finishing the rental paperwork the staff was very helpful. Ed provided us with assistance attaching the tow dolly to the truck and direction and advice regarding loading and securing the car. He was very polite and courteous, especially considering it was about 50 degrees and raining. The negative part of the experience was related to communicating with the company. I booked the truck and tow dolly online, and the confirmation page from Budget said to call the rental location and confirm. I tried calling twice and received a message telling me they are busy and to call back later, so I delegated the confirmation call to my husband. Several more tries still got the same message, and when he called Budget's 1-800 number the representative stated that Pep Boys locations never answer their Budget calls, so he had to call the main line for the store and wait on hold while someone was located that could confirm the reservation. That person was slightly rude, and when asked informed my husband that he would need to provide his own straps to secure the vehicle to the tow dolly and break lights. When we actually got to the location the straps were part of the tow dolly (my inexperience showing there) and it was designed so it didn't need additional lights.
Description of Work: This was a rental of a Budget moving truck and tow dolly from a Pep Boys location. The process of renting the truck was cumbersome; the employee did not seem familiar with the process. After the paperwork was completed, the employee was very helpful in providing tips on driving the truck while towing the car and with attaching the dolly to the truck and supervised loading the car onto the dolly.
