Highly recommend Bruce Ryan Masonry. Very responsive, flexible, and excellent attention to detail. They took the time to explain what needed to be done and why, unlike other masonry companies we received quotes from. Stuck to our timeline, very pleased with the quality of the work.

He showed up and did an excellent job at replacing lentils and repairing other brick.

I needed to have chimney caps put on 2 flues, but was told by another vendor that the flues might be too cracked to do so without being repaired or cut down. I called several companies and did not get a reply from 2. The third company, All Seasons Chimney, referred me to Bruce because they felt he was best suited for the particular work. Bruce answered when I called and set up to come look at the situation 2 days later. He and his son, Chad, come that day, assessed the situation and installed the 2 caps the same day. Bruce and Chad were very knowledgable and personable. I would use them again for sure! Actually I am awaiting an estimate for some additional work that I inquired about before they left.

Bruce and crew did a fantastic job of replacing my failing chimney cap. They were timely, professional and highly responsive. They went out of their way to make sure that the job was perfect down to the smallest detail. I can't imagine working with a better company or getting a better job. Go with Bruce, you won't regret it!!

The chimney looks great, they matched the bricks well, replaced many corroded bricks and replaced flu top, added a limestone cap and came back to seal.

They arrived as scheduled and finished the job on schedule.

Bruce Ryan and his crew did an outstanding job building me a new chimney, including a custom cut, limestone cap that will last well beyond the usual concrete cap. They also added a stainless steel rain cap. The work included grinding out and re-grouting of failed mortar joints along with a few brick replacements. The extras they performed above the contract specs were the icing on the cake. I’m thrilled with the results. Thanks, Bruce!

Was asked if we were selling or buying...noted that we were selling our house and doing some preliminary work. Bruce told me that he doesn't "deal with sellers" and to please relay that information to my realtor. Was looking forward to working with him...it seems like he does quality work. I'm afraid to call back.

Bruce is very punctual, always showed up when he said he would and always called when he said he would. Work is very professional and the worksite was very clean after the job was finished. Bruce does excellent work is very straightforward to work with.

Outstanding job and a REAL PRO!!!!!!!!!!! Could not be more pleased and would highly recommend Bruce Ryan Masonry for any chimney repairs. Very professional from the initial contact for an estimate all the way through completion of the work. Aside from looking up and seeing the new chimney cap you would never know his crew of 5 were even in the yard. When he called the night before he said they would be on the job between 7am and 7:30am, and by golly they arrived a little before 7am which was a pleasant surprise.

From estimate to completion, I was very happy with Bruce Ryan. Starting with the estimate, Bruce arranged to come to the house on a Saturday morning to look at the house and see what work needed to be done. He said 8am and he was precisely on time. He walked around the house and pointed out what repairs were needed and explained why. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He left and said he'd mail me a proposal/contract, which came promptly. After signing the proposal/contract, Bruce scheduled a time to do a color match on the mortar. We agreed upon a color and he let me know he will have to order the color. When the mortar came in, he scheduled our job. The day before the job date, Bruce called to let me know the forecast was for rain on job day and he would keep me posted, as he didn't want me to pay for guys to sit around waiting for rain to stop. He called promptly the next morning to confirm we would have to postpone a day. He started promptly the next day and had five guys working on the job (as was indicated on the proposal). I must say I was very impressed with the sturdy scaffolding that was set up on all 4 sides of the house, all at one time. The work was completed mostly in one day, a Friday. He came back on Monday to finish up and the area was picked up and clean. The mortar match is awesome! His team had to remove (cut out) a very large section of brick (4' x 8') and had to re-lay it (the same bricks), it looks perfect! Upon completion of the job on Monday, Bruce called me to let me know the job was completed and also informed me that he noticed the water spout was not behaving correctly and he was afraid their might be a problem inside the house. We scheduled to meet that evening and Bruce walked with us around the house to review the work and we "settled" the bill at that time. Bill was "T & M basis at $225.00 per hour for labor, plus materials... this included 4 men on the job plus all equipment necessary." I was very impressed with Bruce Ryan's workmanship, professionalism, punctuality, and follow through.

The quality of their work was fine as far as I know. They were great. They were excellent. The price was comparable with the other two bids we got. They were very responsive. They called before they came and they came when they said they were coming. They were good.

Bruce was very professional during the entire process. He responded quickly to my request and set a date to estimate the work. He arrived on time, surveyed the work and gave me a satisfactory quote and time to install. They arrived on-time for the install and quickly set-up to start the work. They removed the old mortar and metal cage on top of the 108 year old chimney then installed a thick limestone cap to completely seal off the chimney. Bruce made sure I was happy with the installation and all the debris was cleaned up prior to leaving. Great job in the cold weather!

We found them on Angie’s List. The quote was around $200. He was on time and gave us a good quote. We just didn’t end up doing the work so we didn’t use them. We didn’t compare them on price.

Unfortunately, it's been two weeks, and no one from the company has returned my call which is very disappointing.

The work went very well. Bruce Ryan is very responsive. Bid I received from him was complete including insurance, payment policies, space and access requirements, photos of the existing condition of the chimney upon which work would be done. Mr. Ryan provided additional information and explained all of my questions I had after reviewing his proposal. I was kept informed as to what they did, when they would be out, and what responsibilities I had for preparing their access to do the work. Mr. Ryan followed up on my inquiry and explained the pros and cons of different repair approaches. The proposal was more expensive than my other estimates, but I feel that the workmanship is excellent and the new crown is far superior to the one the builder originally had installed. The new repair will require less maintenance, is more durable than the original crown, and is very well done. I would definitely use Bruce D. Ryan's Masonry Construction again. I would recommend him to anyone who needs to have a chimney repair done, wants it done right, wishes to deal with a responsive and knowledgeable masonry tradesman, and is interested in a repair is well done and likely (with reasonable maintenance) to be more durable than the original masonry work. When evaluating bids for masonry work, your selection criteria will need to include factors beyond cost alone - such as responsiveness, quality of the work, durability of the repair and likelihood that the repair will not need to be re-done if recommended care is followed. I am VERY pleased with the work Bruce Ryan and his crew did repairing my chimney. (Note: I do have photos of the completed work but did not see a mechanism for including them with my review.)

They did a really good job. They were extremely professional and very clean. Quick in, quick out, and did good job. They made arrangements beforehand and got permission from the next door neighbor. My only concern is that it may have been expensive.

These guys are pros. If you need masonry work done on your chimney...hire Bruce and you will not be disappointed (actually, you will be thrilled). He came to estimate the work, took pictures and explained what he would do and why. Once we hired him, he called several days before the work was to be started. They came when they said they would (on time). The team was efficient and very respectful of our property. The work they did was top notch -- and we are thrilled. I'd recommend him to anyone and I'd hire him again in a flash. One more thing...we had a bid from another masonry company to put concrete caps on both chimneys (a much cheaper option). This second bid was much more expensive than the limestone caps -- which is a much better (and longer lasting) option. So we think Bruce not only does great work...but his prices are very reasonable for the top-notch quality.

Bruce gave us a quote complete with pictures of the existing chimney cap which had been replaced every year for three years by another chimney company. We decided to go with the limestone crown as a permanent fix. Bruce and his crew set the scaffolding up on the chimney on the afternoon of one day and said they would be back the next morning for the rebuild. Showed up bright and early the next day, as advertised, and began work on the chimney. They removed the top portion of the chimney and the flue tile and the first three courses of brick. Relayed the three courses of brick, squared up the chimney, replaced the flue tile, set the limestone crown and mounted a stainless steel rain/critter prevention cap. After the work was complete, Bruce and his crew removed the scaffolding, cleaned up the work area to the extent that you could not even tell that they were here. Our chimney looks better now than when it was constructed 16 years ago. Bruce said that he would return to pressure wash the chimney and seal it within a few days. And true to his word, he returned as promised to pressure wash the chimney and seal it. He took photos of the chimney before, during and after the work was completed. It was a pleasure to deal with someone who was prompt, fulfilled their promises and did a professional job.

They did a wonderful job! They had to take the mortar out of the brick and do it over again. He did such nice work you can’t even tell where he did it. I was impressed! He came back a second time and cleaned it up nicely. He was terrific! I would recommend him to anybody!

Bruce Ryan Masonry did an excellent job on the chimney. The brick that he used to replace the top part of the chimney was a great match; looks wonderful. His crew was professional. Family owned business which does beautiful work. I would highly recommend him.
