Benjamin Franklin Plumbing - Cincinnati

On Oct 4, 2021, I paid $49 for an estimate. Representative came and looked at the job. He said he would send estimate via email. No estimate received. I called Nov 1, 2021. I spoke to Angie and requested refund of my $49. I've not heard back from this company. I had someone else do the work. I would not use this Benjamin Franklin Plumbing franchise for my plumbing needs.

Josh was friendly, fast and on time. We had a little issue on alignment of the valve box but Josh came back and fixed the issue with no questions asked.

Mostly oK. Unexpected expense - higher than what was quoted, and work was not complete. Technician ran out of materials, and I will have to go out and purchase materials, and finish the work myself. Need to clean up, too.

It was just a consult but Ethan was very friendly and very knowledgeable and professional

I purchased a hot water heater online which was advertised as a phase 1. The plumber who did the job called and said that new wiring was needed so I agreed to that so he brought in an eletrican. The plumber hooked up the water heater but then called to tell me it wouldn't run because it was a phase 3 water heater. I don't understand why that wasn't noticed from the start. We purchased another unit, this time a phase 1, I called Benjamin Franklin to ask if it could be installed for no cost or discount since the first one should not have been installed. Long story short, I got nowhere and after several calls was told a manager would call me back. That was 3 days ago and still no call back. A waste of $1990 and little to show for it. Contacted Thomas Plumbing who installed the new unit for a great price. This has been the worse experience causing a lot a frustration.

He was awesome and helpful when diagnosing the issue, and even went above and beyond to complete the job. Overall I am satisfied.

The plumber was knowledgeable and efficient. He solved the problem and did the repair quickly and efficiently. I was very happy that I contacted Angie yesterday and the repair was done today. The only problem was that I was scheduled from 10-2, but I had to call after two to see if anyone was coming. The plumber arrived at 3.

Excellent service. Ethan did a fantastic job, explaining root cause, implications and recommendations. Inspection of all faucets were also completed. From the very beginning Ben Franklin Plumbing was top notch. Use of technology included TEXT with picture and BIO of Ethan, my new Plumber!

Their tech Ethan came out the day I called. He was very knowledgeable, and gave me honest feedback and walked me through everything he was seeing. He was very personable and professional. I decided to not get the work done after receiving the quote, but was very happy with the service and would recommend

The whole experience with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing was excellent. It all started with the helpful and friendly customer service agent. She understood my need for a same day appointment. Josh, the technician, was outstanding. He was both professional and friendly and did a great job at addressing and fixing the plumbing issue. I would definitely recommend Benjamin Franklin Plumbing to others.

The job went better than expected. Ethan replaced the PVC pipes with copper which will lead to a more stable connection to the water tank and output to the house. Left the area very clean and gave some recommendations on some things that may cause me issues in the future. The recommendations came with explanations why these may be an issue as well. I was very impressed with their safety measures and didn't feel uneasy about having work done in my home.

Josh quickly checked the unit and made sure it was working properly. He is a great guy, always welcome at our house.

Chris did a great job rerouting a humidifier drain on very short notice.

It did get expensive, but had high water pressure. They took care of the problem and I'm happy

They showed up on time, I'm very happy. They appeared knowledgeable and were able to help me with the jobs I needed. They were very professional.

Technician stated he was recharging the water softener but he left and it did not recharge. His visit was a waste of time

The team came out to determine why my sink was clogged, they tried to snake it and said it was impossible and that a new drain pipe would need installed. They quoted me for several days work and over $3000 dollars. One team member was very rude and talked down to me. I got another quote from Discount Drains and they were BEYOND friendly and only charged me ~1K.

Benjamin Franklin had done work for our business a few months ago. The work was adequate, however, the price was high. Today a handle broke on one of our toilets. I asked my assistant to call a different company, however, she mistakenly called Benjamin Franklin. Before I even knew what happened, they had managed to come out to our office and replace parts. They never came to anyone and told them what needed to be done including what parts were to be required. Benjamin Franklin then informed me that the "flapper" was bad. When I inspected the toilet before we placed a call to anyone, I saw that the handle was broken. After I was told the repairs would be $220 I immediately looked inside the toilet and saw the handle was repaired and the flapper was replaced. The flapper was fine before they showed up. I was told it was stuck. I was not stuck. I was stuck with paying an exorbitant amount of money for a minor problem. All I can say to other customer's is buyer beware!!!

3 appointments to finally get it done as they came out the first two times without the materials to do the job and they seemed unaware of the job they had been called to do.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Their plumber replaced my garbage disposal (coordinated & covered by my home warranty) and the technician forgot to reconnect the dishwasher. Luckily, I discovered that right before running the dishwasher. Otherwise it would have flooded my house. I just reconnected the hose myself and there is no way the hose just got disconnected by itself the day after the garbage disposal install. Because the hose was not connected, I had a leak for a day under my sink anytime I run the faucet til I realized the issue. The cost was $60, which is the home warranty service fee. I am not sure about the actual cost.

I contacted this vendor with a very detailed message about a problem I have with a slow running shower. It's been a week since then, and I haven't heard a peep from them. Even if they weren't interested in the job, or it was beyond the scope of what they do, a msg or phone call saying so would not only have been appreciated, it would have been the professional courtesy that they failed to extend.

After my 21-year old Rheem 75-gallon tank water heater failed with a sudden rather significantly rapid bottom leak, and I spent several days in the 19th century, I was saved by Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. I'm so glad now I didn't just go with the first people who could come out, but took a bit of time and checked out my options. I contacted nearly about a dozen firms rated A on Angie’s list for estimates of a choice between a replacement 75-gallon tank, or a tankless system. Some wanted to charge to come out for an estimate. That was a non-starter. Others couldn't come until forever. Estimates that I did manage to receive ranged on the 75 gallon tank from $2200 (a rather bare-bones without even coming to see it) up to $5000. Don’t believe the “average” cost estimates if you need a large tank, having a 75-gallon tank does NOT fall within the listed job average. Those are for small houses with tiny tanks. The tankless estimates went from $4600 up to $8000. Some firms would not indicate the brand of units they wanted to install and didn’t bother to include paperwork for the county inspection, and wanted extra to haul away the dead unit. What, did they think I wanted it for a souvenir? Benjamin Franklin Plumbing gave a detailed and no-nonsense estimate for both the tank and tankless option. There was no extra charge for this and extra charge for that nonsense. I chose a Navien NPE-S tankless system, all things included and spelled out in the estimate at $4900. I chose this system not, as most might do for the nearly limitless supply of hot water (which is REALLY nice), but for #1, efficiency of use (nothing by the LED runs when you’re not using water), #2, the cost oddly was within the top range estimates by some of the 5 for the tank system, #3, longer lifespan. #4, of all that I dealt with in the estimate process, the fellow who came out from Benjamin Franklin was the most professional in his approach. No pressure, no push. Benjamin Franklin did flawless work, save for two screws and some dust left on the floor. I'll give them a 100% on the rest. The two contractors they sent out were polite, efficient, and finished within five hours including their lunch. They had received a cancellation on the day I agreed to the contract, and were here within an hour. They arrived in Willis "ONE HOUR" trucks as if to put an exclamation mark on that swiftness. They should have used it in a commercial! I would recommend them to one and all in a heartbeat.

Called on a Saturday for a clogged drain in our rental property. The call agent was great but local techs were booked up and was told the service fee would be 149 vs the regular 49. Same for Sunday. Tried Monday and they were also booked up solid. Frustrated after spending 15 minutes setting up an account to not even be able to use them.

We called on the 19th and set a firm 2 hour block for the 30th from 1-3. Took off work to be here for our quote and finally had to call because we were not reached out to. They lost our appointment and kept referring to a system change that took place that somehow caused the issue, which is useless information. We are going to seek out other quotes given BFP is incapable of showing up to our home to provide a bid for business. Will not use in the future for any of our needs.

BEN FRANKLAIN came, diagnosed problem and fixed it. PVC drain pipe was cracked allowing tree roots to get inside and grow - plugging. Ben Fraklain cut out a short section, where roots were, and installed a new section.
