was not informed on what to do before they opened my pool this year and i scheduled my opening last fall and was still put off and had them come out for 4 visits and was promised last year of same quote and they fuked up and didnt even give me a discount and last year to close all they did was drain a bit and put my chemicals in and put cover on and to open it it was a mess and its still not right there was no manual labor they did that was even involved and then tell me one employee was fired which was a lie he quit and they still put me on hold so why even bother scheduling ahead of time when others were taken care of and they never made sure i knew they were here trying to work on pool why cause they knew i would ***** that they didnt do what they should have done DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY THEY WILL *** YOU

I could not be more pleased with the service I have received from Art Daniels Pool Service. I did not have to lift a finger the entire season and was able to spend my time enjoying my pool rather than stressing over it. The pool has been beautiful the entire season. The couple of times over the summer I did have a question, Art answered the phone personally. Can't say enough good things. I will definitely be using him again next year.

We had a problem with the pool equipment due to chemicals they put in the pool. They denied it had anything to do with the chemicals. After the pool broke, we asked them to come back , They said they had more important customers, were very busy and that it would be 2-3 weeks. In order to be added to their preferred program, it was an extra charge of $60 and all they came out to do was tell us what chemicals to use. When I spoke with the owner, he was condescending and rude and unwilling to help. I called another company who came right out and advised the pool did in fact break because of the wrong chemical treatment being used and they were able to repair.

Nothing came of it.

I hired Art Daniels to open my pool this spring and since they did such an outstanding job at a great rate, I had them come and close it as well. Both experiences have been outstanding and I don't plan on switching providers as long as everything continues as smoothly as it has.

We had a good experience with Art Daniel and we actually found them through Angie's List. They were responsive. The only thing I think that was negative was they were not set-up through check, credit cards or automatic so you have to write a paper check every time you pay. They were professional.

I have had this pool for more than 10 years. For the first 5 or so it was closed by the builder, who far and away did the best job but they were coming from Dayton so it became too much of an inconvenience. I have used various companies since then and they all have their own proprietary system they have to sell you to take you on. Everyone else is an idiot and only they know the right and best way. Art Daniels is no exception and if I had any idea before they came out, I would have chosen someone else. Unfortunately at that point they have you over a barrel. Its cold, the pool is filling with leaves, everyone's schedule is full, etc. So you suck it up, buy their gimmick that is going to protect your lines from freezing better than anyone else, and that is all you are really bargaining for- not having the lines freeze and burst. So over the course of the winter the water level dropped more than 2 feet, so something is obviously leaking somewhere and I'm dreading what am I going to discover. Art called to open the pool, I told him what happened and that I was concerned with his system and it was instant denial mode- "not my fault". Not, wow I better come check this out and see what went wrong. Could not get of the phone fast enough. And, of course, I have never heard from him again. I haven't discovered anyone really great, dependable and fair priced in this industry. The process is basically take a shop van, blow the water out of the lines and pour in some antifreeze. You might as well do it yourself because no one you call takes responsibility for their work anyway. While this all sounds cynical and curmudgeonly, I have written many reviews on Angies List that are straight A's for value, workmanship and quality. Some like (Joe) Naiser Furniture Restoration have incredible integrity and can't do enough to care for their customer and stand behind their work. Art Daniels is not one of them.

I used Art Daniels Pool Service for several years and things went okay at first. But in early 2013 I took another job and moved out of state and asked them to continue to service it while I was away from the house. In the summer of 2013 they called me and informed me that I had a rare mold and needed expensive treatments daily. As I recall the service work cost about $60 a day and the chemicals were around $100/day. They had to come and brush the pool and put chemicals in it every day. As they were treating the black mold I had reason to travel back to the house in Cincinnati to take care of some business. It was a day that they were supposed to have brushed and chemically treated the pool. When I looked at the pool, there were long rubbery fingers of algae growing from the sides of the pool. It was obvious that no one had brushed the pool that day, or for many days before that. I tested the chlorine and it registered at zero. I called Art and told him what I saw and said perhaps there was a misunderstanding with one of his workers because the pool had not been worked on that day (they were supposedly brushing and chemically treating the pool every day - they were certainly charging me for daily service). I described the 1/2 inch long black algae fingers growing thick off the side of the pool and the lack of chlorine. Art said that his guys had just serviced it several hours before. I invited him to come look at the pool to see for himself what I was seeing. He became immediately defensive and said 'It's your word against mine!' Up to that point the conversation was not heated as I had described what I was seeing. I sincerely thought that it was possible that one of his employees had perhaps not told Art the truth. It was obvious that no one had brushed the sides of the pool several hours earlier. Art also told me that my filter was defective and needed a multi-hundred dollar repair. He refused to continue the conversation, or to come and examine what I was looking at and hung up the phone. I spent the afternoon brushing the sides of the pool and removed the black algae. I satisfied myself that no one had brushed that pool that day and likely days before that. Art's unwillingness to even look at what I described to him in conjunction with the fact that he expected me to be out of town and unable to see the truth about the pool causes me to conclude that he acted in bad faith. His emotional response turned off the conversation and so I just did the work myself that day. He obvious that he was not honest with me I hired another pool service in town and they cleaned up the mess inside of a week. The other company didn't need to fix my filtering equipment and didn't charge me for any repairs. I give Art Daniels a 'D' grade (versus an 'F' because he serviced my pool for a couple of seasons while I lived in the house and he seemed to do an okay job. Once I wasn't around to watch what was happening, he let my pool go to pot and then lied to me about work that he didn't perform. He behaved badly when I tried to discuss it with him. I probably should be giving him an 'F'.

We've used Art Daniels Pool Services for our openings, closings, and a pool inspection when we purchased the home. They've always provided excellent service, and we highly recommend.

i will never use anyone else. buddy, out tech, is great. art is very helpful with questions and concerns. really quality service.

They did a fine job performing a multitude of tasks including removing all supplies from supply shed, winterizing pool, putting protection canvas over pool, and eventually returning everything back to where it belonged. Previous services used in the past to close our pool would close the pool, but never appeared to clean-up after themselves. We have used Art Daniels Pool Service for several years and everything is completed properly and the mess they need to make is cleaned as I would expect. They are also on-time and always show up as promised. Another feather in their hat! I highly recommend using their services.

I like that they are very mature and experienced men. Many companies I have used in the past have teenagers. They did great work! They were responsive for my request to use less rather than more chemicals.

We did not use him, not because we did not like him or didn't want him, but because it was not within our budget. We will probably use him this summer for our pool services. He also put the pool in for us. His price is reasonable. He wasn't trying to scam us for more money. He was very honest and up front with different ways we could use our pool within our budget and so our kids could use it. He has been in the business for quite some time so he has a lot of experience. He is definitely professional.

They have been okay. They are very responsible and have done great job.

Very professional. Called the day before to confirm. Very punctual. Work performed as I had been told it would. Called the day after to inform me of another minor repair that needed to be done and also to check on how I felt things had gone with the pool closing. I received a detailed invoice in the mail several days later. After dealing with unprofessional people/companies in the pool business, dealing with Art has been a pleasure. Art and his crew took care of my pool for the 2010 season, including weekly maintenance and pool opening/closing. They always came when they said they would, alerted me of potential problems, left a detailed invoice for the work performed, and most importantly, they kept my pool crystal clear for the whole summer. I will definitely use them again for next season!

We were desperately needing someone to close the pool in the middle of winter, and Mr. Daniels, who was out of state got ahold of one of his employees to help us in this emergency situation. The gentleman that came was careful in what he was doing and informed us clearly of each step that he was taking to close the pool. He ended up having to come back two days in a row to complete the job. It was because of the condition of the pool that he had to come back, not because of something he had done. We are satisfied with the job that was done.

Excellent. This company is outstanding. They were courteous. They answered ALL of my questions. Offered suggestions. Very easy to communicate with.

Art tried hard, but had some trouble. I don't think this was his fault as much as the fault of the company that made the controller and circuit board. He tried hard and was quite friendly. If you need pool service, definitely give him a try.
