Response from Apollo Home
Member, I’m glad you had the chance to take advantage of the Angie’s List Drain Cleaning Special we offered last year. Based on the notes from our plumber, it looks like he restored flow to drain but found that the root of the problem was the piping itself. More often than not, a clogged drain is a symptom of bigger problems. The solution in these cases can range from using a jetter to completely clean the walls of the pipe to replacing a section of the pipe, or even replacing the entire branch line. Our plumber felt that in this case a complete replacement was best. I apologize that I don’t have the reasoning for that, as it was over a year ago and he does not remember and admittedly, his notes on the work order could have been much better. We do encourage our plumbers to offer long term solutions along with a way to address the immediate problem of a clogged drain. I can’t know for sure what was done for $125, but I can only assume it was an attempt to clear the blockage by running another cable. It’s not uncommon for clogs in problematic drains to be very intermittent. So if the problem hasn’t occurred since this last time, it doesn’t surprise me, and we wish you continued luck with that drain. If you do find that this drain continues to give you trouble, we hope you would allow us the chance to help you solve the problem. If you need anything please don’t hesitate to call, we’re always here to assist you 24/7. Sincerely, Jamie Gerdsen President, Apollo 513-271-3600
