It went great. Steve L. was courteous and friendly. The appointment set up was easy and convenient too. They gave me 4 options with estimates on each one. I choose to have them install parts that I purchased myself which saved me money. Steve also replaced a corroded shut off valve to my water heater at no charge. They also don't nickel and dime you over fittings or small parts to do the install. Now, they are more expensive than your average mom & pop plumber, but they do the job right and when they commit to doing it. For me, that's worth the price by a long shot.
Description of Work: I needed a laundry tub faucet replaced (leaking) and an expansion tank installed.

Very prompt and courteous. From initial phone call to completion of service (no prior appt), job was done in two hours. Josh was great, explained service and offered a very reasonable maintenance plan that allowed for discount on this service call and 15% off the part required. Extremely pleased with Apollo!

Very please with Apollo. Salesman, Mark Floyd, was extremely helpful and thorough. Their pricing was on the high end but we chose them given the professionalism of Mark compared to others we met with. We have since agreed to their Care Package system to have our HVAC systems serviced in spring and fall. Would definitely recommend Apollo!

I called Apollo at 7:30 AM to schedule an evaluation of a non-cooling AC system. They mentioned the office was closed but they would call back when it opened. I called at 9 AM as I was eager to get problem evaluated. They took my name down and said a technician would call me to schedule a time. Around 1 PM I received a call stating that since I didn't have a maintenance agreement with them that those that did had priority, and that it would be "weeks" before they could evaluate my AC. My complaint wasn't with that, but why didn't they tell me that at 9 AM with my initial call instead of falsely leading me to believe that I would actually have a tech evaluate my AC in a timely manner. I called another HVAC company who was able to evaluate my AC the next day.

We set up an appointment to have our two hoses A/C tune up performed two weeks ago. The afternoon before it was to be performed we received a call stating that they were over booked and therefore had to cancel our appointment.s When I suggested a date a week later they said that they could;t fit me in. In the past I have ordered filters for our Ac and furnaces when they serviced them. Each time they have charged me for the filters but after waiting several weeks I called them and they informed me that they had not ordered them. Horrible customer service. Their billing department is very efficient and makes sure to start dunning me several months before the annual service contracts fees are due.

Major issue was the incredibly inflated price and the gimmicky yearly service contract they try to push. Their price to replace my water heater was 2.5x what I had it done for. The person that visited my home was very professional and courteous (he does not set the prices), but the price is an extreme rip-off that is not justifiable. I ended up calling several providers and all were way less than Apollo Home by an order of magnitude. Beyond the price, I had to call back several hours after making my initial call to the answering service as they mis-typed my phone number. Despite the friendly service from the technician, I would not recommend them due to the price.

The entire job took two days. Since the replacement required shutting off all water in the house, Apollo planned the work so that we could have the water turned on overnight. The work was done in a very professional manner. We were very pleased by their services.
Description of Work: Apollo replaced all the copper water piping in our basement. It had begun to develop pinhole leaks in numerous locations. All the piping was removed in the finished and unfinished sections of the basement. It was replaced with a polymer plastic piping.

Found drain had clogged on a Saturday afternoon. They were able to send out someone within 2 hours. He cleared the drain and let us know that the issue was. Was extremely professional and took care of everything within a hour.

We were less than impressed. In addition to the big deal that we bought, it was a $75 service call. The quote that they gave us was unusually high. So we ended up not using them because the quote was so high. It was actually high to the point that even with the big deal and the $75 service fee, we were actually better off going to one of their competitors. He was very friendly. I would not recommend them.
Description of Work: I purchased a big deal from them. It was $99 for $200 worth of electrical services. They came out and gave us a quote. There were no services performed.

Expected me to commit to their service that day. Told him I always get 3-4 estimates and NEVER commit until I think it over. He seemed disappointed. Never did receive a written estimate only a verbal one that day. He had my e-mail address to do this but never happened.

Description of Work: We had a couple of very simple tasks for Apollo to do: replace a couple of pendant lights and replace a fan switch for a blower on our electric fireplace. We had $200 of service for $99 and then we had to pay another $400 so the service call ended up costing about $600 ($130 for the switch and $470 for the labor). Apollo has a fixed cost matrix for their services and it always seems like they are very expensive. I would not use them for electrical or plumbing in the future.

Do not listen to anyone who "tests" your furnace heat exchanger with only a camera. Demand a carbon monoxide sniff test. Do not trust Apollo.
Description of Work: Under the guise of a furnace check this company tried to scam us by falsely telling us that our furnace was unsafe. They turned off and red tagged the unit. They then had their sales guy come and quote a furnace that was priced at over $2000 more than the national average for a furnace our size. The second opinion dealer did an actual carbon monoxide test instead is a camera scam test and told us that he would like to sell is a furnace, but ours was safe and we didn't need a new one. He restarted our furnace and won our future business.

While a carbon monoxide tool will tell you if you have an active presence of C.O. in the air space it does not mean that a crack isn't present. Cracks many times have intermittent C.O. issues that don't necessarily present at the time of a diagnostic tool being in use. Constant expansion and contraction due to the nature of metal heating & cooling, means that cracks do get worse over time & also that C.O. can emit at different levels at different times. Front office and field technician made me feel like a valued customer and got my boiler working the same day.

Apollo sent someone within a short period of time. The gentleman was very professional, arrived at the time quoted over the phone. He wore shoe protectors, (that was a plus), brought his own water vacuum and cleaned up all areas professionally. He also answered my questions. My water was turned off for a very short period of time which allowed me to do other things in my home. The technician also pointed out other things that really needed to be corrected. As it turned out he repaired both of my toilets. I am very happy with Apollo's service and would not hesitate to call them again.

Wanted to work with automating my lights as much as possible for safety and security. Keith got the system up and running very quickly. He was extremely helpful, did the set up, and showed me how to customize it to my wants. It is amazing to pull into the driveway and the lights come on automatically. My outside lights come on every evening, and turn off every night with the system. I could not be happier with it, and Keith's help in getting it done. It was also nice to have a service provider in my home that did what I wanted and asked and didn't tell me what I need. I will be calling Apollo for all my needs.

I have dealt with Apollo Home since early 1990's with my first purchase of an Amana A/C and Amana furnace. Needless to say they have been servicing our equipment from that install until my new Amana A/C and Amana furnace were installed. Jamie at Apollo walked us through our options without the hard sales pitch. He got us to exactly were we wanted to be in the process and sold us on a furnace and A/C that fits our house and lifestyle perfectly. Jamie set us up with a date and time that the installers would be available and promptly followed through with his promise. The installers showed up on time and were very courteous and helpful throughout the process. We got exactly what we needed in a timely and prompt manner. Since the install back in July I have seen energy savings in our Gas and Electric bill that we discussed with Jamie. We are very happy with the service that was provided and the equipment that we purchased.

Called Apollo due to no overtime charges on weekend. Seemed like a good company to work with at the time. Boy was I wrong. They sent someone out rather quickly (due to low volume). This was the only good thing about the call. Technician came out and said I was low on freon and needed a new A-Coil for my furnace. When he described it, he indicated that he would be converting the unit from R-22 to R-410A for around $2,500. He also indicated that it might be a good idea to go ahead and look at replacing the HVAC unit. This came as a shock to me as my unit is 6 yrs old! When the quote came in, the technician indicated a replacement of the A-Coil for approx $2,000 and quoted 3 lbs of R-22 refrigerent ($600). This came as surprise to me as the tech informed us that he would quote switching the A-Coil/outside unit to an R-410A system for the $2,500. Also, sticker shock set in as Apollo's purchase cost for R-22 refrigerant is somewhere around $10-20 per pound and they quoted me a price which seems to be gouging at $205/lb (1000% markup). Also, the A-Coil comes at a cost of somewhere between $600-800 for the part and 3 1/2 hours of labor. This somehow came to $2,000 to Apollo. Because at the time of the repairs, we were uninformed of Apollo's business practices and we were expecting large repairs, we signed up for the Maint. Agreement to try to save some money. This is where the real fun came. After talking to a friend/former Apollo employee, he laughed as I described the issues/recommendation. He indicated that Apollo technicians receive a commission off of services being sold so it is in the tech's best interest to sell more expensive services. He also informed me that the reason he left Apollo was that he couldn't bear "screwing over residential customers" any longer. He also came out and used his tools to examine the A-Coil and said it was in fine shape, was not in need of replacement, and explained that every time an HVAC technician hooks up their device to check Freon/R-22 levels, small amounts leak out. Also, he mentioned that the technicians can control how much R-22 truly does leak out (works kind of like a tire gauge). His tests indicated that I only need 2 lbs of Freon to fill my system rather than the quoted 3 lbs. After filling with 2 lbs, system functions perfectly Due to this conversation, I decided to cancel my service contract under Apollo as I did not want them touching my unit again. Under Ohio Law, I have 3 business days from entering the contract to cancel it. Also, under Ohio law, if I rescind the contract within the 3-day period (cooling off period), you are entitled to a full refund of monies paid for the contract. The desk clerk cancelled the contract under the cooling off period (surprisingly) but refuses to refund me my money even though I provided her with Ohio law that states she must refund my money (for those of you out there having similar issues, you may check yourself under Ohio Revised Code 1345.22 and ORC 1345.23(D)(4)(A)). She indicated that I have to pay them more money and she will refund me a smaller amount of money than what I was to pay them (which is not in accordance with 1345.22 or .23) Also, Apollo has deceptive business practices as under ORC 1345.23, they are required to inform you that you may cancel the contract any time within 3 business day and no where in the contract or the agreement do they mention this. Luckily, I consider myself aware of Consumer Protection laws and was aware of my right to rescind. I have escalated this issue to the Ohio Attorney General and am still working on receiving my refund. I would never recommend anyone to use Apollo (even though they have no overtime rate on the weekends) due to their deceptive business practices. Update as of 10/2 - After originally rejecting my resolution/refund through the BBB/Attorney General under erroneous premises, business finally agreed to refund my money. Seems to be that they came to their senses. Still would not recommend doing business with Apollo in the future. Also, business agreed to refund charges on 9/28 and still have not seen the credit/refund amount on my credit card. I am hesitantly optimistic that they will actually refund this charge.

I initially scheduled a mid June appt but them cancelled and went with another company who gave excellent service and immediate attention to my problem and not try to hard sell me on anything before or during the work.
Description of Work: When I made the initial call, I was told a service tech could not come out until mid June, but the rep then went on trying to sell me a service plan before our ac was even checked. Was not pleased.
