+ -1 moreI explained the problem to Bill W. (the Apollo service technician), and he checked several things on the furnace. He also made a call to a co-worker to get some advice. I had previously tried to install two new thermocouples, but it turned out that I had not tightened one connection enough. Bill W. checked the connections, and was able to re-start the pilot light. Although it was a simple fix, I was grateful for the help, and considering it was Christmas Eve, the price was extremely reasonable!
Description of Work: My furnace stopped operating in the early morning of Christmas Eve (12/24). The pilot light had gone out, and I couldn't get it re-lit.

+ 0 moreThey arrive on time and did the work quickly. They were here for less than an hour and tried to charge me over $370. I pushed back saying it seemed ridiculous and we finally settled on a price that was half the original. I then asked for a price quote to do a bigger project. The estimate came in at $8400. Much higher than I expected. I sent them on their way. I then brought in 2 other electricians to get pricing. I ended up going with one that provided a price of less than $2000 and all turned out great. Luckily, I did not hire them for more work, but the experience made me want to warn others to get multiple bids if you are looking to use Apollo.
Description of Work: Hired Apollo to do some basic electrical work and to bid on a bigger project including adding recessed lighting and ceiling fans.

He ensured I was completely satisfied with the work and had all questions answered in a well organized format. He even gave his card and invited me to call he or his team back anytime if I had any follow up questions about our new system’s operation and functions. We even discussed helpful tips for saving a lot of cash in shopping local for HVAC filters (quarterly expense). We had not opted for the extended service agreement they’d offered at installation (add’l charge) so I appreciated that they were so open to calls with general support questions when/if needed. Excellent high-touch customer service experience. Highly recommended!

+ -1 moreThe installers, Mike and Rick, were on time and very efficient. They were polite and respectful of my privacy and my property. They cleaned up after themselves and left my property in good condition. I was very impressed with the installation.
Description of Work: Apollo performed my yearly furnace inspection and told me that the heat exchanger was cracked and it was unsafe to use. The technician called to have a specialist come out that same day to give me an estimate for a new furnace and air conditioner. Doug Zeigler took the time to talk to me about my needs and how my system had been working as far as keeping me comfortable. He also asked about my monthly utility bills. He then advised against getting a high efficiency furnace, saying that because my utility bills were so low, it was not cost efficient to pay for the high efficiency system. He also recommended that I reduce the size of my units. He said that the existing units were oversized. He gave me a quote for a new system. I was a little concerned about downsizing the units so I did some on line research and found that the sizing criteria have changed and what he was recommending was right in line with current thinking. Since I always get multiple quotes for large projects, I called another major HVAC company for a quote. The representative did not ask any questions about my needs or costs and gave me a quote for a high efficiency furnace and air conditioner of the same size I have now. When I asked him about a smaller unit, he said it would work fine but most people wanted bigger units so he rarely recommends going smaller. I then asked him to give me a quote for the exact models and sizes that Apollo recommended. The price he quoted was significantly less than Apollo. I called Apollo back and was informed that they were running a special and would meet the competitive bid. They offered a faster installation than the competition. If they hadn’t met the price, I would have chosen the other company.
