Everything has been going well. They were very knowledgeable and helpful, and they did a good job of walking us through the application and approval process for the mortgage.

The man I dealt with was unprofessional and dishonest. I had to call him every day to get an update on where things stood and he would only speak in generalities like "well, once I get it back, I'll make sure everything looks ok then we can move on." No matter how much I pushed I always felt like I was getting the runaround. The last straw was when I let him know that I found another bank that would do our loan for 0.5% lower interest rate and half the closing costs. He told me that he called that bank and that their lowest rate was only 1/8% lower than them. This was a blatant lie. I cut off all dealings and went with the other bank and I'm so glad I did! I realize now how much he was ripping us off and gouging us with fees and the interest rate. The Amerifirst representative was going to have us put down 7.5% on an FHA loan, but their fees and interest rate (4.25%) were so much higher than we would have had a $50/month higher payment than with the new bank where we're only putting down 3.5% and have an interest rate of 3.75%. That alone would have cost my family $18,000 more over the life of the loan!!

My experience to them went very well. Their price was fair and reasonable. They did great a job! they closed it with a great rate and did it almost on time. They are hardworking people.

Anyone buying a house in this day and age knows how difficult it can be to work with the bank. However, my loan officer worked extremely hard to get my loan processed. It was a very time consuming and tedious process, but she was very diligent and she kept me informed through every step of the process. I was also able to use a coupon for the appraisal that waived the fee completely!
