+ -1 moreThey originally put in the system when we brought the house, had the house built. They installed the heating and air conditioning system, so we just gone back to them.
Description of Work: I go to a place called American Heating and Air Conditioning. I think at that time they had to replace a burnt-out motor in one of the exhaust systems. As a matter of fact, we’ve got these special filters and I got a filter from them, maybe within a year, and they actually dropped it off at the house and I put the filter on.

+ -1 moreThis company gave me two furnace options, either fix the furnace for $400 or replace it for $2,000.00. I agreed to repair it for $400.00 they got really mad at me but they did say they fixed it. Then once i paid them $400 dollars to fix it they told the tenant it was too dangerous to turn on but they never told me. i went over to my property a month later and found it empty, tenant had moved the furnace was not lite and the furnace had a note tied to it reading "do not light, furnace needs to be replaced" I lost my tenant and paid $400 for nothing.

Mike was great to work with and the crew who came out to my house to install the unit were on time and efficient, friendly, and personable. I will not hesitate to use them again in the future to provide me with tune-ups or any future repairs. I highly recommend using American Heating and Air Conditioning.

They were very responsive and installed an interim thermostat and then arranged with the company of our existing Nest thermostat for a replacement, which they also installed. They were on-time and professional, the pricing was fair and we would definitely use them again.

+ -1 moreAmerican was low bidder of three geothermal quotes I received. I accepted their contract, and was very pleased with the work and the result. The owner, Mike, worked with me to maximize my "green energy" tax benefit, and the technicians managed to get ducts everywhere they were needed with little disturbance of my neat old home's architectural details. (this had been a major concern, and the reason AC had not been installed in the past). The geothermal unit now hums quietly in the basement, no noisy outside unit, and we have enjoyed a cool house... and very low energy bills so far... even with very hot weather this summer... approx 60% savings as compared to 2011. American is my new heating and AC company, and I recommend them to friends and family whenever the opportunity presents.
Description of Work: Our rather large older home had boiler heat only, and very little AC because no ductwork was present. Our energy bills were very high, and summers were kinda miserable because of the deficient AC. I had pretty much made up my mind that geothermal was what I wanted.

+ -1 moreIf it is not obvious from the description of the service performed, we are thoroughly pleased with the outcome of this upgrade. We would highly recommend American Heating and Air Conditioning to anyone who is considering the purchase and installation of heating and air conditioning equipment. The new furnace has performed flawlessly for the first month, during some of the colder temperatures we have had during December. And as a final note, Mike Dempsey also submitted the paperwork necessary to receive not only the Federal Tax Credit, but also the rebates available from our local utility company. I am happy to report that we received the rebate checks prior to the end of the year. Just one more example of how well American takes care of its customers.
Description of Work: From the daunting task of determining which heating and cooling system was right for you and your home, and which company to contract to do the work, it was clear from the beginning that working with American Heating and Air Conditioning was the right choice for us. We met with Mike Dempsey, one of the owners of the company, who patiently guided us through the selection of the equipment, the explanation of the installation process and he also did the measuring for the work to be done. Mike was very helpful in this process, and again, I want to reiterate very patient with us. Our original equipment that was installed when the house was built was a Carrier furnace and A/C. The equipment provided us 25 years of service with very few issues, so naturally we were pleased with Carrier. After talking with Mike, we decided to install a new Carrier 95% efficient two-stage gas furnace along with a two-stage 17.0 SEER A/C unit. Also with this installation was a Spacegard air cleaner and a Carrier humidifier, as well as a new programmable thermostat. On the day of installation, the installation team arrived at the scheduled time, worked quickly, efficiently, and professionally throughout the day, and completed the full installation of all equipment within the one day, and, as they promised ahead of time, had the heat back on before they left. When they had completed the job, there was no evidence that they had been there, except of course for the new equipment in place. All the pieces of the old furnace and A/C had been removed, the work areas had been totally cleaned, and the drop cloths that were used to cover the hardwood floors and carpeting had been picked up, leaving no sign that any major work had just been done in the house.
