It went very well. The projected start of the job was delayed because of rain & I believe a personal crisis with one of the guys on David's team, but once they got started all went very smoothly. We couldn't be happier.

We recently used Dave Underhill (Outdoor Design Build) to complete a project in our front and side yards. The project was small in comparison to Dave’s other projects but Dave paid great attention to our plan, answered all of our questions and continued to communicate with us throughout the project as though we were one of his large clients. Outdoor Design Build regraded the front yard to eliminate a drainage problem which allowed water to pool after heavy rains making it a great habitat for ducks passing by in the need of a rest. To assist in maintaining an effective path for the water to follow, Dave installed a “dry creek bed” through our side yard. As part of the redesign of the front yard Dave and his team also installed a small retaining wall along with plantings in both the front and side yards. Both the front and side yards have turned out better than our expectations. Dave maintained close supervision over his team so that they delivered the level of quality he has become known for and the references we contacted conveyed to us. I would recommend Dave Underhill and the Outdoor Design Build team to anyone wanting to have work done who demands quality service, solid communication skills, adherence to time tables, and reasonable prices.

The woman I worked with provided a landscape design. She was wonderful and listened to my concerns. I will definitely contact them when I am ready to go forward with the work.

It went well. The guys showed up & dug out the area from my driveway to my gate. They laid the large stepping stones & a few of the concrete stepping stones that I already had. They filled the area with gravel. The next day, they dug a path from my gate to my deck & laid the rest of the large stepping stones. They filled around them with topsoil & seeded the area . They always notified me when they were running late, or if there would be a delay, & for this I was very appreciative.

David and his crew with Outdoor Design did a tremendous job upgrading our backyard landscaping. David was easy to work with and all work was completed on time and looks outstanding. We had a stone walkway, flower beds, evergreen trees, perennials and a stone fountain added to our backyard. The crew did a nice job cleaning up each day and left our yard looking great at the end of the project. Ryan helped supervise our project. He was very professional, kind and conscientious. I am a picky person and I was happy with the project completed by David and his Outdoor Design team.

Once again, they were prompt, courteous and extremely professional. The price was fair and the workmanship was exceptional. This company truly is a pleasant surprise from most other contractors in this industry.

I would highly recommend the company! They were reasonably priced and very professional. Also, they were very responsive to our design needs...stone, top, etc. Anyone thinking about an outdoor kitchen or entertainment area should put this firm at the top of the list.

Outdoor Design Build exceeded our expectations from start to finish. We can't say enough about the contractors, communication and overall success of the project. We loved that David and his company specialize in outdoor living spaces. This is undoubtedly the company to call if you are looking to add to your house outdoors!

Gayle contacted me to schedule the time to do the design and when the day came, she arrived on time. She immediately went to work surveying our yard and was very engaging, asking us what we liked, didn't like and what our expectations were for the use of our yard. She was able to talk while doing the survey and in the two hours she provided a to scale drawing of her proposed design. She also brought our attention a number of issues, specifically relating to water drainage problems in our yard that would limit what we could do in terms of landscaping. She included in her design recommendations on how to solve the drainage problem. Gayle was very efficient and we were impressed with the amount of information she was able to provide during the short time with us. Subsequent to our meeting with Gayle, we engaged Outdoor Design Build to come and fix the water drainage problem by installing a drainage system and dry well. We look forward to having a functional and DRY backyard this Summer.

The designer was very helpful and knowledgeable and had very good suggestions. I am looking forward to implementing my new landscape design.

We had a huge swale across our back lawn. Outdoor Design Build LLC laid a pipe underground which evened the ground out so we have a smooth lawn at the back. He also did landscaping. There was some lighting that he installed and the cables weren't buried deep enough, so there were some small things that weren't exactly right. It was a huge job and he mostly did it well.

It turned out great. She was very straight forward, professional, had some great ideas and suggestions and was very professional.

The work was excellent, the communication with David was great. The teams that performed the work were not only quality craftsmen but also very nice people. We would highly recommend Outdoor Design Build as we could not be happier with our backyard.

Dave came out, evaluated our yard and was the first to mention the possibility of re-grading the back yard to make it more useable and to improve resale value. We were impressed with his direct and confident communication. He referred us to a landscape architect, Gayle Frazer, who was awesome and had very reasonable rates. We could not do everything Gayle envisioned but Dave was receptive to a staged approach. Prior to Dave, we had 3 others come out to give bids and were either outlandish in price or very slow or nonresponsive when producing a plan. I was about to give up on redoing the back yard until we met with Dave. Changes in the estimate that occurred when the work was in progress included larger trees for planting that increased cost, the need to sod rather than seed due to timing (job started couple weeks later than originally thought due to weather). However, Dave was open to negotiations so the total difference in final cost from estimate was about $1.100. Overall, we are very happy with the quality of the work. The hardscapes are beautiful. Looking out at a green back yard rather than a muddy seeded, straw covered yard is immensely satisfying. The trees and bushes that were planted are healthy and beautiful. One tree was either blown over by wind from the ruminants of Hurricane Sandy or knocked over by deers. Dave thinks deers were the culprits. He anchored the tree with 4 point wires. I have not noticed any further damage since he did that. Overall, Dave was very responsive to any questions, concerns e-mailed / called / texted during and since completing the job. We are very happy with the work he has done. Family and neighbors start off with "Wow!" when they first see the new back yard.

We are thrilled with the outcome and will defiantly be using Outdoor Design Build again.

Kudos to Outdoor Design Build and do not hesitate to use them for any hardscape project. They are the best!
