About us

Red Wheelbarrow Gardens, LLC., with over fourteen years of experience, is a small company offering consultation, design and gardening services. We specialize in perennial flowers but are equally capable of taking care of your small trees and shrubs. We usually employ four to six gardeners, most of whom have been with us for at least four years. Most jobs are handled by us as a group or, in the case of very small jobs, by the owner with, perhaps, another worker. Red Wheelbarrow Gardens, LLC. is licensed by the state of Ohio to engage in sales, vendors license 89-271109, to engage in the sale of plant materials, Nursery Dealer's Certificate 3055 and to apply pesticides and herbicides, Pesticide Business License 1292. There is no fee for initial visits in which the possibility of future work is discussed. Design fee rates vary, depending on the complexity of the design requested, but are generally based on the size of the area to be designed. Designs, once completed and paid for, are the property of the purchaser. Completed designs come with estimates of plant material and labor costs for engaging Red Wheelbarrow Gardens, LLC installation services. Once installed, we are happy to offer bed maintenance at an interval that suits your needs. Maintenance work is charged at an hourly, per person rate and includes the cost of herbicides, pesticides or fertilizers needed to complete agreed upon work. Red Wheelbarrow Gardens, LLC. believes fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides should only be applied in an as need to basis and should be done with appropriate timing and with the most nature friendly materials. Consultation services, in which Red Wheelbarrow Gardens, LLC. is engaged solely for the purposes of providing information on plants, pests or disease has a charge of $35 dollars per hour. Maintenance work is charged at an hourly, per person rate and includes the cost of herbicides, pesticides or fertilizers needed to complete agreed upon work. The Red Wheelbarrow crew is fast but thorough and geared toward providing you the landscape you desire. Most of our customers have been with us for ten or more years. Angie's List customer's will receive a $50 coupon to apply toward Spring or Fall maintenance services. Oh yes, don't be disappointed if all the wheelbarrows aren't red.

Betsy and her crew have worked for me for years. They've prepared new flower beds, rejuvenated existing beds, transplanted shrubs and perennials and helped with spring clean-up. They are friendly, professional, and very hard workers.
Description of Work: Pruning all evergreens on the property, and getting perennial beds ready for spring.
