+ -1 moreMidwest Total install a security system on my new build in the 1990s. A little over a year ago I needed a new battery. An employee replaced it without any problems. A little over a month ago, the battery refused to work. I’ve placed five phone calls with Midwest Total and they have not responded to my inquiries. There is no follow-through whatsoever! I take it they do not care about older accounts. What poor business practices! Bob

+ -1 moreMIDWEST BROUGHT OUT CHEAPER MODULES WHILE DOING THE FINAL PHASE OF WORK. WE POINTED OUT THAT THOSE HARDWARE WAS NOT WHAT HAD SPECIFIED ON THE CONTRACT TO USE. THE FIRST REACTION OF THE COMPANY WAS TO SAY THOSE HARDWARE WAS THE SAME AND THAT'S WHAT THEY ALWAYS USE. FORTUNATELY WE HAD ALL MODEL NUMBERS AND BRAND NAMES SPELLED OUT IN THE CONTRACT. IT TOOK SOME EFFORT TO HAVE THEM FINALLY AGREED TO USE MODULES SPECIFIED IN THE CONTRACT. DURING THE WAITING PERIOD, CALLS TO THE COMPANY FOR STATUS WERE NEVER RETURNED. MIDWEST'S BID WAS HIGHER THAN OTHER BIDS WE HAD. WE HAD EXPECTED COMPANY WITH THAT SIZE WOULD BE RELIABLE AND WOULD HAVE NOTIFIED CUSTOMER IF THE DELIVERED PRODUCTS WERE CHANGED/DIFFERENT FROM THE CONTRACT. THE ORIGINAL SELLS MAN NEVER ONCE RETURN THE CALLS WHEN WE WERE ANXIOUS TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE WITH THE COMPANY.
Description of Work: WIRED LOW VOLTAGE LINES - RG 6 AND CATEGORY 5 CABLES FOR A NEW CONSTRUCTED HOUSE.

+ -1 moreFAILED TO INSTALL WINDOW SENSORS ON ALL GROUND FLOOR WINDOWS WHICH WAS LISTED AS ITEM #1 ON THEIR CONTRACT. FAILED TO PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION FOR SECURITY SYSTEM. HAD TO BE REMINDED THREE TIMES TO COME BACK AND INSTALL TWO MISSING VACUUM OUTLETS. HAD PLANNED TO HAVE THEM INSTALL OUR HOME THEATRE. WE QUICKLY CHANGED OUR MIND ON THAT.
