Green's Home Improvements

Originally I met Michael Green when he came out under the employ of J. Rush Home Improvements to utilize an Angie's List Big Deal. When the grout in the shower tile work done for that began to come up, I called J. Rush Home Improvements, and Michael came back out - indicating he was doing so although his boss (Justin) was going to leave me hanging. Michael also indicated he was parting ways with J. Rush, and starting his own company. He looked at the shower, said he wasn't surprised the grout was failing, and that the whole floor needed to be redone. He said he could do it along with some exterior tile work we had discussed on his previous visit. He came back with a relative and the relative performed the tile work in the shower floor while Michael worked outside - some stucco work and exterior decorative tile replacement. When the shower and stucco were complete, and the tile appeared to be in progress but requiring setting time, Michael and relative left - with full payment for the work (my mistake). Michael came back the next day and did some additional work on exterior tiles, and collected his things and left. I made multiple phone calls, always getting his voice mail - the only time I got through was when I masked my outgoing phone number. He then indicated he was "going to call me [that day] (4/25/13)" and that he'd be getting the additional tiles needed to replace some broken tiles over the weekend, would call back during the weekend, and would be at the house on Monday (4/29/13) to perform the work. Needless to say, no call during the weekend, no show on Monday, and when I tried again to call (my final attempt), I went to voicemail. There were 3 aspects of "the job" he was to perform - here's where each stands: 1. Shower floor tile - stated it should be sealed and that he'd bring sealer to do it later in the week. Did not happen. 2. Stucco repairs - mostly done - said he could color-match with surroundings. Did not happen. 3. Exterior tiles - not completed - in fact, tiles still have painter and masking tape holding them up on patio, and on a stair section it looks like he started to pull away some damaged tiles and actually made it worse. He had a compelling story about the pride he takes in his work, and how he was going to be starting his own business - even handed me many green, double-sided business cards, listing him "for all your home maintenance needs." We discussed other jobs around the house he could do after the tile work, including electrical. He indicated he had insurance to do his work. He even indicated he'd "been added to Angie's List under his own name." At this point, he's just taken the money and run, leaving incomplete work as a testament to his work ethic. And now, he has been added to Angie's List.

Wow! I am so pleased with the job that Michael has done on our home. I have a list of items for him to come back to do for our home. I am very picky and I can't see a single thing wrong with the job he has done. The floors shine like they are brand new. :)

Michael did a fabulous job. We didn't have to do anything. He moved the furniture, prepped the floor, and even picked up the items that I ordered from Home Depot. He was prompt,hard-working, and very neat. I was in awe when I saw the final project. I already have him lined up for our next home project.

Excellent, arrived on time and attention to detail was great,shower looks new again! Did such a great job, we decided to have him install screen doors and do some light electrical work the next day. Will call Mike again in the future.
