Bob was outstanding. Day one he completely demolished the old chimney and removed all of the bricks and wrapped up the existing chimney flu. He returned the next day and was wrapping things up when I returned home from work. The results look perfect. So much, that a neighbor asked me for his name because he said I have the best chimney on the block now. His price was very fair from other companies, he wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive. He was very communicative via text and phone. Great experience. Plus he has a coupon on Angie's List. He was also able to match the current brick on my home.

Excellent! I called Thompson's Masonry for an estimate on chimney work. Bob came out within 45 minutes of the phone call and determined that we needed some repairs on our chimney, not a complete rebuild as had been told to us by other companies that had come out (rebuild prices ranging from $1500 to over $4000!). He also pointed out some tuckpointing that needed done on other brick on our house. He said he could do the work the next day. The price and timing were perfect, so we hired him. He showed up the next morning when he said he would (he was even a little early...bonus points!) and worked all day. He communicated with me throughout the day re: the progress. He was always courteous, respectful, and just a nice guy! The whole process was a positive one. The finished chimney and tuckpointing look great! I am so thankful I found Thompson's Masonry on Angie's List and we have already recommended him to friends who need masonry work. Was very professional and thorough. Some of our foundation blocks were crumbling and the mortar between them was in bad shape. One of the foundation blocks needed to be completely replaced. He managed to find a matching block to replace that one. Repaired all of the crumbling blocks and mortar. Overall the repairs look great and blend nicely on our old house.

Received written quote in mid September and accepted quote 2 days later. Work to be performed in 7 to 10 days later. Showed up once during a rain storm, then left. Called over 5 times, he did not return phone calls. I called him this week and left message about possible F rating on this list. He called back, argued with me and hung up on me. It is now Nov. 9 and near impossible to get a mason because of winter weather.

I recently had Thompson's Masonry, Inc. tuck point my chimney, two sets of stairs and other miscellaneous missing mortar on my brick home. I received an estimate from a company recommended on a different forum and thought the estimate for only tuck pointing my chimney (not rebuilding it) was outrageously high at $2595. Worse, he could not guarantee he could complete the job this season. I looked on Angie's list and found that Bob (owner) of Thompson's Masonry had an A rating and received the Super Service Award in 2016. He responded to all of my communications promptly and sent photos of before/after pictures. He was able to fit my job in quickly and completed it within two days. Bob went above and beyond.

Robert Thompson came out to look at our project the same day I called him. He gave us a detailed quote, and performed the work one week later. He power washed the sandstone caps on the porch, tuck pointed the gap between the two sandstone caps on the top of the porch, and replaced all the mortar for the bricks between two levels of sandstone steps. The result is actually a work of art. Mr. Thompson clearly sets a very high standard for his work. We were very fortunate to find Robert Thompson Masonry on Angie's List. He was a pleasure to work with, and he obviously takes well deserved pride in his work. I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

Mr. Thompson came out to my home rather quick. He was very professional and did a complete walk around and gave me a good price on what I needed done. He even spotted stuff I didn't see. When they came to do job they made sure the color matched existing color and it looked great. They any extra holes they saw and did good on clean-up.

Lots of reviews note this, and I'll add one more voice: This company is exceptionally hard to reach by phone. When the rep (owner?) came out, he poked around a bit and then said what others have been reporting: he's not interested, too many variables. Seems that this company might be a viable choice if you have a very simple job. Anything more than that, though, and I suggest you look for a different masonry professional.

Bob came out to quote a crack in my wall even though he said they really don’t do this kind of work. He came out and just fixed it for free. Not only that, we kept missing each other on the phone. He kept trying back even though he knew there wasn’t much chance of him making any money on the job. When does that happen? Also, he repaired the wall for free because I was an Angie's list member! How many contracts work like this? I wish he did more than masonry.

Replied to my inquiries promptly, arrived when agreed, job done well and on time for a reasonable price. Also worked on our brick porch steps. Very satisfied and have recommended to a friend.

Excellent prompt responses to Estimate and to doing the work. Arrived in a timely manner, spent as long as necessary to complete the job well ( in this case all day- many hours!) pleasant, cleaned up debris, did an Excellent, through job, I was able to go about my Business while he was working. Extremely informative and clear as to each process was doing or had done during both estimate and actual work time. Excellent price. great work ethic and skill! Very pleasant and totally dependable!

Bob did a great job repairing my chimney. He repaired, tuck pointed, sealed, and added a new crown. He also tuck pointed another area close to the chimney that he saw need to be done. He was professional, timely, and knowledgeable.

Bob Thompson (Owner) did a great job tuck pointing my chimney. He also tuck pointed several areas around the house that I pointed out to him and he also tuck pointed other areas that he saw needing this work done. Bob is very professional. He called me prior to beginning the job to let me know the date and time that he would start. Once he started, he provided me with pictures inside the chimney to show the current condition. In addition to tuck pointing the chimney, he applied a acid wash to clean the effervescence that had built up. He also applied a sealer to the chimney. It took him two days to complete the job. He also corrected me from overpaying him based on our contract. He's a good guy, hard working and very honest. I would definitely recommend him to others.

Robert tuckpointed our chimney and re-built the crown. He matched the existing mortar color exactly. He sprayed sealant over the mortar. The job took about a day and a half. He erected a scaffold from which to work. The work was done very carefully and professionally. He also tuckpointed a few other cracks he found in the stone facade of our house. He was careful to not damage our gutters, roof, siding, plants or lawn. He cleaned up completely afterwards. We were very pleased with the job and recommend him unreservedly. We will recommend him to our neighbors and friends.

Left a voice mail a week ago, no response.

This guy must have enough work that he doesn't need to answer his phone anymore. Called 3 times and left messages with no response. Interestingly enough I had my wife then call and her phone call was returned within the hour. It makes me wonder! She called twice and her phone calls were returned both times. The second time she asked him to call me to discuss the job, needless to say he never called back. Curious isn't it.

When some workers were on my roof fixing a broken shingle, they noticed that the bricks on my chimney looked like they were crumbling. I called Thompson's Masonry to get an estimate of repair work. Bob Thompson came out right away, and recommended a complete chimney rebuild. He also gave me an estimate for replacing some damaged bricks and tuckpointing and sealing the brickwork on the front of my house, which was in pretty bad shape. When I spoke to Bob, he agreed to take off $100 if I had both done at the same time, which I really appreciated since they were both fairly big expenses. (He also offered to honor the estimate for the brickwork on the front next spring if I decided to just do the chimney and wait on the rest, but I decided to go ahead with both). Bob was great - friendly and professional. He called me back right away, answered all of my questions, and showed up when he said he would. He was able to match the bricks and mortar color of the existing brickwork. He even fixed the tuckpointing on my front steps, which another group had "fixed" (badly) in the spring, so it matched. Everything looks great. I would definitely call him again if I need any masonry work done.

Terrific experience. Rob wove in an on-site estimate between jobs in my area. The work was minor, in terms of hours, so he was able to fit it in right away. When he finished, he took me on a tour to show me what he had done to make sure I was good with everything. He and his worker, Kevin, were very polite, quick and thorough. I am going to recommend him to everyone in my neighborhood!
