John was delayed getting here a bit due to another job taking longer than expected, but called me to advise the new arrival time. He was pleasant, efficient, and very fast. He presented the written estimate before beginning work, and inquired as to how we had found them (resulting in an Angie's List discount) before finalizing the bill.

I couldn't be happier, the leak had the potential to make a real mess and of course, it was the day before a three day weekend. McHugh's got someone there within an hour! The plumber who came was very professional.

Very good. Very pleased with the professional, very knowledgeable and informative/helpful technician. I needed service right away and the company accommodated me in a timely manner. Not crazy about how the hand held shower heads operate. There is some new regulation regarding the hand held shower and why it drips from an area around the hose after turning off (something about overflow), but the plumber was very careful to try and explain in detail to me upon completion of the work.

McHugh's was my 2nd opinion & estimate. The 1st (before I subscribed to Angie's list) was a pig-in-a-poke franchise joint that pressured me to sign that day or lose a $200 discount (off $1450 !!!) to try to find and solve the problem (after their snaking produced nothing). In contrast, McHugh's snaked just once and extracted the roots for $179, resulting in a problem-free drain. McHugh's is too terrific for words--committed to their craft and excellence, knowledgeable, personable, reliable, and dedicated to actually helping people!

I had a hot water pipe that burst, and Bob was able to come out in 24 hours. They fixed the problem for me very well, and checked in my upstairs bathroom, which had a blocked sink, and they replaced the drain pipe which had a big hole in it. John did most of the work,and he did a really good job. He also changed my faucet, which still needs to be adjusted, be he said that he will return to make that adjustment. Gave me an Angie's list discount, and gave me advice on preventative maintenance.

He was very prompt in responding to my call.

My long time plumber left a huge mess removing a toilet. He was fired. Bob answered at 6:30 pm on a Friday and came out to look at the job on Saturday. Timely response was key because the painting and wallpaper in the bathroom (which were part of a larger job) were waiting for the toilet to be installed. Bob was prompt. He and his workers use shoe covers, nice in the snow. John did a great job installing the toilet soon after. There was a question about one of the old pipes going into the toilet being clogged. To bypass it would have cost more and required cutting into the wall. Bob recommended by phone that we use the old pipe, as is, unless it becomes a problem (so he wasn't pushing work that we didn't necessarily need). Bob came by later, without being asked, to inspect the work and be sure I was satisfied. They gave us a McHugh's mug. Very pleasant and professional. With this level of service and professionalism, I'm a customer for life.

Bob called back promptly and we had someone out in a couple days. I had an issue with part of the bill and Bob was more than willing to work it out. He was very fair and really understands how important it is to have loyal customers. He has one in us I highly recommend him. This is the second time we used them and will again.

He was punctual and came out when he said he would. Came prepared and ready. Didn't take long to do the job. Great experience. I would certainly call them again.

I was initially given an approximate time when someone would come out. After no one came, I called and was told they got tied up on another job. I understood, but wish I had been contacted so as not to sit around waiting unnecessarily. I got an apology, a rescheduled visit and was told "something" would be taken off the bill for the inconvenience. Ultimately this did not happen. I was given a discount for being a member of Angie's List, however, my membership was known when the additional discount was offered. My grading on the price will be a best "guesstimate" because I don't really have any comparison.

Very professional, courteous and quick. They came out on a very stormy day and kept me informed as to what time they would arrive. They gave me a competitive estimate on the spot, honored the Angie's List discount and went about their work in a professional, quick manner. I plan to have them return to repair some old pipes in the spring.

They were very efficient and quiet workers. They were easy to relate to and explained almost everything clearly. I was surprised at the service charge of $49 which really canceled the Angie's List $20 discount. It was a bit expensive for the work done; but, I'm satisfied.

Excellent. Fair quotes. They ordered all the parts and fixtures for me after I selected them from his catalog, they were delivered that day while they worked and everything was done within 2 days. They also swapped out old corroded pipes so the system is all new. Then he installed the water line to my new fridge for free (which turned into over an hour of headache for him...but still no charge!)Finally, my water bills are $100 bimonthly and my older baths look actually passable with his updates.

Price is reasonable, service is timely, nice guys.

McHugh's plumbing was extremely responsive about resolving an unexpected problem with a leaking radiator on the 3rd floor of my home. Within three hours of my call, they had located and fixed the problem and averted a major disaster. What's more they treated me as if I was their only customer, or concern that day. Great job.

The job looks professional. The toilet flushes fine! They used footies so they would not mess up my floor. Which I appreciated. Very nice and did a quick job!

Would recommend them ten times over. So friendly and honest.

Last Sunday, we discovered a gurgling sound with a foul odor in a kitchen sink. Two years ago we had the same problem and called Bob McHugh for that one and now needed his help on this one, since he was familiar with the problem. We called him around 11:00 am and he returned our call promptly to say he would be here at 3:00 pm. Bob and his brother cleared the blockage within a half-hour. Bob stated that he bought a camera since he last worked on our sewer, so I had him send it down the pipe. With the camera at about 87 feet into the pipe, we saw what appeared to be a tire iron hammered from the top (jagged around the entry) and abandoned. This area is under the driveway, which I believe is original pavement (26 years old) and was likely there for all that time.

GREAT! Very personable - wore protective covering over shoes before entering house. Prise was very reasonable too!

He was the only one willing to come out and clean out a drain in our garage that was completely under water. He came out a little late but communicated well with us. He noticed that we had a cracked lid and he came out the next day to drop it off. It was an outstanding experience.

I knew my tank was on its last legs and had been procrastinating when it started to seep from the bottom. I called around to Angie's List recommendations for prices and availability looking for the higher end. Bob's wife had just had a baby that week, but he took the time to give me estimates and we scheduled an appointment for a couple days later as I needed to arrange time off from work. The workmen did arrive late on a Friday afternoon even after we pushed the time back from a prior phone call. I was impressed with how Bob stayed connected even though he had his mind on the new addition to the family. I was flexible understanding they were short handed that week. The install went smoothly with two guys working on the removal, and one stayed to finish by himself. The worker was very nice, quiet, and orderly. A few small parts were left on the floor. He took some extra time to give me a thorough, yet rough estimate on adding an outside faucet and explaining why it might cost that.
