Pleasant, reassuring, satisfactory. Thanks to water pressure check, learned that pressure was way over limit. Chose to have the old reducer valve replaced. Grateful for the information; will save water usage and bad effects on appliances.

I called to set up an appointment and he didn't show. I called back and asked what happened. He went on about how he is backlogged and etc. I am a business owner myself, and I understand the hardships of running a small business, but you don't treat customers like that. You at least call to cancel.

He was on time on a Saturday, knowledgeable efficient and had a great attitude. He came very prepared. He was very personable and a pleasure to work with.

They couldn't come out for a week, which was unfortunate and I was surprised when there was a fee for the service call. This is the first time I have ever paid for a service call. I bought 2 items off of them: a drain cover - they screwed that on in about 30 seconds, and a flood guard-which I installed myself.

John from McHughs was on time and very professional and took time to answer all my questions about his work and what he was doing. He provided an estimate before starting his work and that is what he charged.

As usual, Bob McHugh returned my call almost immediately. Because I told him it was not an emergency problem, he asked if I could wait 2 days before someone could come. When I've had emergencies, I've appeciated their quick response. So I figured the flexibility I had would enable them to respond to other emergencies first. They came when promised. I was given a choice of replacement faucets and ended up getting a Moen commercial grade single handle faucet (which I knew was high quality.) The new emergency shut off valves were installed. I couldn't turn the handles on the old ones. The new ones are much smaller and easier to use, so I feel more secure knowing I can turn the water off in case of emergency. Their plumbers are always courteous, friendly, neatly dressed and groomed (think NOT Schneider the custodian on the old sitcom "One Day at a Time"), and highly competent.

I called Bob on Saturday when I found that both my sump pump and back up sump pump had failed. He was out of town but made arrangements for one of his plumbers to come out the same day. John took care of the problem quickly, left the site clean, etc. I then used Bob for a second job to install a water powered back up sump and a filter for my ice maker. Bob's crew completed the work timely and cleanly. I will use Bob for any further plumbing work.

One of our toilets had a slow leak around its base that was gradually damaging the wood floor around it. I called McHugh's because we had work done by them once before and they were still rated well on Angie's list. I called on Thursday, talked to Bob himself, and scheduled an appointment for the following Monday. John arrived within the scheduled time frame. He removed the toilet, showed me what was happening, explained why it leaked (the plumbing was probably done before the wood floor was installed; the added height of the wood floor did not allow for a proper seal), and how much it would cost to fix. I said he could go ahead with the repairs. He cleaned up the mess and did the repairs in a timely manner. The toilet no longer appears to be leaking. I was thankful that the cost of the repair was about half of what we had previously paid to reset a different toilet.

McHugh's is our go to plumber. They have done both emergency and check-up work for us. McHugh's is always prompt, professional and courteous.

In the morning I discovered that the pump up to the leach field in our septic system had stopped and was now overflowing. I found McHughs on Angie's List and called an left a message. Within ten minutes, they called back. I explained my dilemma and hoped they might help me quickly as it was Friday and I didn't want to deal with this problem all weekend. By noon, I had help. After pumping out the excess water, we found that the pump had failed. They were able to buy and install another pump for us that day, including another small repair which prevented the water from back flowing (which is probably why the first pump failed). The serviceman was extremely helpful and very careful when coming into the house. Although he worked quickly, he took time to explain what he was doing. He completely cleaned up after himself and even disposed of the old pump for us.

Professionalism. Contractor gave an Angie's List discount. Very reliable and knowledgeable. Told him I liked his work and would consider in future.

They were very clean in the work that they did. They put covers over their shoes to not track in dirt. They were very polite and on time. They did very good work. They also gave me the name of a tiler to replace some tiles that had to come off when they did the work.

He was very good at explaining my options in a way that I could understand. He also replaced the lines that feed the water with better materials since there was a concern about their age.

John came out on time. Completed the job and cleaned up the area. We needed a minor adjustment and he returned promptly. We were very satisfied with the work.

I have used Bob before and liked him and the work so I called again. He is very busy but has always gotten back to me. He or one of his men came when scheduled. I didn't get an estimate until the day before the work was done but this was because he couldn't know exactly what problems he would run into until he opened up the ceiling below where the water damage had occurred. Once he started to work he kept in touch with me by phone while I was at work. I though the price was very reasonable and the work was done well. I trust this company and will use again when needed.

Everything was good, except for their promptness. But they gave an additional discount for not showing up at the time they said they would.

I called with my problem and we set up an appointment for them to come out about 5 working days later. They showed up on time and after showing them my understanding of the problem, they gave me an estimate. I had a dollar range in mind (I didn't tell them what it was) and when I got their number which was right in the middle, I asked them when the could do the work. They were prepared to start right then. Every time they came into my house they wore disposable covers on their shoes and the insisted on putting down drop cloths in the travel and work areas. The estimate, work and cleanup took about 4-1/2 hours total. I was impressed.

He arrived on time to provide an estimate to replace the faucets. We decided to have them replaced so he left to get the new outside faucets. Promptly returned and replaced all four faucets. The plumber informed us that the original faucets were not installed properly which contributed to the failure. The work was completed in a timely fashion. We were happy with the service and workmanship.

I was happy with the work in all respects. I was especially impressed with the speed with which they were able to respond at a time when people all over the area were suffering from frozen pipes. I was also especially impressed at how they insulated the areas they had opened and that I was not charged for the time spent driving to the store and shopping for the insulation. They also cleaned up the work areas well. I also later had them address a hot water tank issue at a condo I manage. This was completed satisfactorily and the cost was $104.

Very good. Bob and his group are very professional and very knowledgeable. The quote they gave us was very complete and they explained everything before the work began. We would hire them again if we every needed plumbing work done.

Because of the position experience, we will hire this company again.

They quoted me one price for coming out and when they showed up on Saturday it was more because it was Saturday but I was not told that over the phone. They said they could repair the faucets for $1500, or repair a little job for $60. I went with the $60 repair.

They were on time and did what they said they would do.

He showed up on time. He was very careful with his work and cleaned up all of his work. I was most impressed and I would highly recommend him to others.

The entire process went better than expected and the job was finished within 4 hours, albeit a little expensive. To save some money, I dug out the garage floor to expose the eroded pipe prior to their arrival.
