They were not successful in doing it. After working form many hours and they tried hard, but were not able to complete the job. Their price was expensive, but they advised us that we needed some high pressure and they did not have the equipment. They talked to us and also let us know what they were doing.

I called Bob on Saturday to set up an appointment for Monday due to a clogged kitchen sink. They called me 45 minutes before they came and was able to fix my issues. I have used Bob and his company before on other items. They always do an excellent job.

You can't go wrong with McHugh Plumbing. Professional, polite, reliable. I had to rate price an "N/A" because I didn't get any other estimate, so can't compare. I have worked with Bob before, and trust him to do at great job at a fair price. I definitely recommend McHugh Plumbing -- in fact, he will be doing some work at my mother-in-law's house tomorrow.

I have a septic tank, and the line going down to the septic tank was plugged by roots. It was a partial blockage, I had one toilet that was still working .They did a good job. I called and they could not come the day I called but came the next day. They removed the toilet in the upstairs of home and roto rooted the line from there. The workmen took care to not damage my home, they even used to drop cloths on the floors. They arrived within 30 minutes of the time they said they would. They were courteous. There were no problems.

I have a problem now so I need to call them again. They are easy to work with. They are responsive compared to lots of other companies. When they come out they come prepared. They fix things the right way. If they are doing anything different they explain things to me so it helps. I have had them here two or three times.

We called and things stared great. They were here, gave estimates and left. We decided which work we were going to do and what we were going to put off till next year. We called to have them do 2 of the 4 jobs and they said they would send a quote out. That was in November and we have still heard nothing from them in the mail or on the phone. Needless to say, they will NOT be getting the other 2 jobs now.

They were punctual, professional, pleasant, and extremely neat. The installation was perfect. We were very pleased that they could schedule us prior to Thanksgiving.

Sunday morning - Bathroom sink - pipe burst - leaked through to kitchen ceiling below - massive mess - our current plumber on vacation - looked through Angie's list for another plumber - found McHugh's Plumbing - called Bob McHugh - he came out on a Sunday - put a "bandaid" on problem so we could function for the day - came out Monday morning to repair the damage - very well organized - workers all very knowledgable & professional - clean found very impressive that Bob came out on a Sunday to correct the problem especially since we had never done business before - he addressed the problem & did not put us off til next business day - McHugh's Plumbing is an excellent company

Bob cut into walls and tile to install a new fixture and run new lines for a shower in a historic bathroom that had been capped and not operational for decades. His solution to the problem was highly preferable to other proposals that involved replacing all the historic tile around the tub or cutting through shelves and a closet to gain access. Bob's work was quick and efficient and the cuts in the walls were minimal. He always cleans up after himself. He recommended a plasterer (also on Angie's List) to repair the holes. Bob also repaired a leaky toilet and two leaky sink faucets and a leaky shower while here. Bob is professional and prompt and always calls to notify if there is a delay in arrival and to follow-up after work is done. I prefer traditional plumbing materials to modern/PVC, etc in my historic house so do ask Bob to inform me about materials ahead of time. He convinced me on the shower that the flexible water pipe he installed is as good as copper for taking water from the source up to the shower head when snaking it through the old joists. He knows about my preferences and does take care to inform me about the materials he will be using.

First, I should say I've had nothing but positive experiences with Angie's list referrals, until now. - I called Mr. McHugh in late August '09 to request a bid on a driveway drain project. After scheduling and cancelling two appointments with me, he finally showed up to make an estimate and spoke with my wife. He had the lowest bid ($188) and had positive reviews from Angie's list, so we hired him for the job. - After several weeks and a couple calls from me Mr. McHugh reported he had finally found time in his schedule and to snake our drain. He wanted to meet me, and I agreed to leave work and come to my home to meet with him. He was a half hour late but he we eventually met and he seemed nice enough. - Mr. McHugh reported to me several days later that he had tried but he couldn't clear the drain. He told me he would send a bid to repair the broken drain in a couple days. A week passed and no word from Mr. McHugh. I called to remind him about the bid and he returned the call to say I would receive the bid in a couple days. Another week passed and still no bid. I called Mr. McHugh (by now I had memorized his #) and asked if he was still interested in the job. - Several days later Mr. McHugh left me a message asking where was his check? It had been 2 weeks, and we wrote and mailed the check the next day. - Two days later Mr. McHugh called me in the evening and yelled into the phone "WHERE'S MY MONEY?". Unfortunately, I had put him on speakerphone and was in the car with my teenage daughter, so she heard the whole thing. I told him that my wife and I both understood from him that he would fold the charge of the initial snaking work into the larger repair work, but nevertheless we had put the check in the mail the previous day. He continued his belligerent and loud tone insisting he made no such statement and that he wanted his money. I reassured him that the check had been sent, but that we would not hire him for any further work. - Here's the bizarrest part of the story: once I told him we wouldn't hire him for any other work he stated probably shouldn't do the job anyway because he doesn't do driveways, just plumbing. So he admitted to me that he had misrepresented his ability to do the job in the first place! - In summary, Mr. McHugh took 4 weeks to attempt to snake our driveway drain, could not do it, did not submit a bid to repair the drain as promised, charged us the full amount despite not completing the job, and then yelled at me (as my daughter listened) for not sending a check for a 2-week old bill he had told us he would fold into a larger job. He finally confessed (after I sent the payment!) that he had misrepresented his ability and expertise to complete the job in the first place. The one upside was that the last, crazy call afforded me a chance to talk to my daughter about we both deal with angry and difficult people.

Very professional, did a beautiful job in the installation of the new faucet in my main bathroom.

Overall, very well. Fixed the problem. I was most impressed with the professionalism of Mr. McHugh. I never met him, but spoke to him several times on the phone. The first time I called, he answered the call while he on his family vacation. Even still, he worked very hard to get my problem addressed ASAP. I called this company, because they have a great reputation. I had a sporadic water pressure problem that needed some thoughtful consideration and I wanted someone with experience to think it through before tearing apart our pipes. In the end, they did a great job (diagnosed the problem, replaced the part quickly, cleaned up, wore booties) and Mr. McHugh even called to follow up on the job and another estimate they provided. The part they replaced was only 5 years old. The price they gave me seemed a bit high compared to what I had paid in the past. When I questioned it, he knocked off $40. Seemed very fair, especially given the quality of service they provided. Definitely would recommend them and will call again.

I called Bob on Sunday evening, left info on voice mail. He returned my call the same day and set up appointment for the following morning. His employee arrived on time, was polite, clean and pleasant. He actually fixed everything in a much more timely manner than expected. I have used them before and have always been extremely happy with the services. He cleaned up his work area, wore shoe covers on his feet so as not to track dirt. He said there was a lot of sludge in the pipes. This drain had given me problems ever since I lived here -- about 7 years. Now it's OPEN!

They were responsive and professional. They cleaned up their messes. They explained what was going on and they gave us options. Plumbers are expensive.

I'm satisfied with them. They did a good job.

Bob McHugh, the owner, handled the service call. After explaining my concerns, he wrote up a quote for the camera work that needed to be done. We opted to do the work immediately. He checked out all of the drains and piping (more than was anticipated). He also snaked out two of the drains. He was very thorough and professional.

We've used them at least three times over the past couple of years. They are very good and prompt. We liked the way that they worked with us the first time that we used them. They are courteous and reasonably priced. They got the job done. Each time we have called them, they have always been very, very reasonable and the quality of the work has been excellent. We've never had to call them back to repair anything they have done. We plan to use them for everything. They are a very good company.

Bob is terrific in every single way. He answers his phone 24/7.

Men showed up right on time. diagnosed problem and conversed withme what needed to be done. Did the lob quickly. Cleaned up after themselves.

Overall, I am so glad that I selected McHugh's Plumbing for this project. Mr. McHugh responded promptly to my first call and guided me through the selection of fixtures that were both good quality and of the appropriate style for my home. I appreciated his frankness when he disagreed with my first choice of fixtures! He discussed the issues thoroughly with me. The only downside, which was minor, was that I waited about two weeks for his estimate. However, once I accepted the estimate and the ordered fixtures arrived, the project was completed in a timely manner. He was very professional and his craftsmanship was meticulous. My new bathroom is beautiful!

The kithcen fauet leaked spraying water ove the area. The water had to be shut off making the sink unusable. Service was scheduled for the next day but later I got a call that I could get service that same afternoon. The work was completed quickley and professionaly. I appreciated the quick and friendly service and will call them again if need be.

I have used them before. They were okay. I have had mixed results with them. I have never had a big problem in terms of them doing something that didn?t work. Once I had a problem with the furnace. It wasn?t working. It turned out that it was a furnace with a new system where there were many sensors. So, if there was a hint of even minor blockage in the intake pipe, the furnace wouldn?t work. I didn?t know this at that time and I called McHugh?s Plumbing to take a look at it. They managed to spend a lot of time chasing the problem and it costs me a lot of money for a simple problem. When I had them over for the water heater, they told me that it was an old one. They gave me an option of changing the computer box of the water heater, but they also told me that it was an expensive option. So, they put in a new heater and they did it quickly.

They were very dependable and reliable. Joe the plumber extremely knowledgeable and explained everything. He also answered other plumbing questions that I had as well. I also felt very comfortable having him in my home especially with my husband being out of town. I have already recommended them to others.

McHugh's Plumbing always provides superior service. Their work is unmatched by other plumbers we have tried.
