When I called to schedule the appointment, I spoke to Bob McHugh. He fit me into his schedule a couple of days later, even though I said it was not an emergency. The morning of service, Bob called ahead a couple of times to let me know he was running late. I appreciated the call, but I was home anyway, so it was not a big deal. When he got here, he was very apologetic and courteous. He provided me with a couple of recommendations and estimates. I chose one model and he worked very efficiently and cleaned up after. While he was here, I discussed a few other projects with him, like adding a bathroom in our basement. He listened to my ideas and offered me some good advice. He is very honest, professional and knowledgeable. I will definitely recommend and hire again... oh, and the disposal works great!

Selected Bob McHugh due to his excellent Angie's List ratings. I set up an appointment and Bob showed up on time and with all needed equipment. He snaked out main line twice and ran his camera through, at my request. I have fought a battle with a large oak tree in my front yard for years and wanted to see exactly what the root situation was. The root problem was fairly severe and Bob recommended a dose of RootX, followed by a second dose in 6 months. While he was here I added a leaky water heater pipe to his list, which he quickly corrected, despite a problem with my main shutoff. Bob detected a slight gas odor while working on the water tank and decided to use his detector. The test equipment located a total of 5 minor leaks in the piping. I live in an old converted double house and there are a lot of unused, capped off runs that were problematic. Bob stated he could perform that work later in the week and said he would contact me later in the day, after checking his schedule, to set up an appointment. Instead, he called back in an hour, advising that he had a couple of his guys available now. Joe and Dan showed up quickly and despite a little more work than they had bargained for with one stubborn leak, they corrected all the gas line problems and applied the RootX. I have nothing but good things to say about Bob, Joe and Dan. All three were professional, and obviously took pride in their work, including cleaning up when through. I would highly recommend McHugh Plumbing to anyone.

My tenant contacted me just before the Fourth of July holiday to tell me that the hot water heater was leaking all over the laundry room. I contacted McHugh's and asked if they could help. Mr. McHugh was kind enough to alter his schedule for the day in order to assess the problem and ultimately replace the hot water heater. This was all done in a timely and professional manner. Upon completion of the job Mr. McHugh was paid and I asked him to forward an invoice to me, which he said he would do. A couple of weeks went by and I contacted him to ask for the invoice again, he said it was on his desk. During the next couple of months both my wife and I contacted McHugh's numerous times to ask that an invoice be forwarded, without and success. There were too many excuses to list here. Eventually, in early September, an invoice was finally e-mailed for this job. My rental property is a business, I assume McHugh's Plumbing is a business and not a hobby. I was very upset with how the invoice was handled and as a result I would never do business with McHugh's again.

All the work was completed professionally and in a friendly manner. We had a clogged shower drain and I called Bob McHugh; they have done work for us before, were friendly, professional, prompt, and very careful to be clean, which is very important to us. Bob's team arrived on time. The two workers, Joe and Tom, reviewed the work I called about, looked at my few extra, small jobs and gave me a quote. After I agreed, they split the work and completed it promptly. I paid by check.

We have used Bob since moving back to Cleveland in 1999. He has snaked drains, installed and moved toilets and taught us a lot about how the plumbing in the home should work. This most recent job was running a gas line from our basement to our pool heater. The previous owners had the heater in the basement because "there was no way to run a gas line out to the pool" Bob and his guys were able to figure it out pretty simply. He has always returned calls promptly - and often answers the phone. He is very reliable and trustworthy His company has grown over the last several years - the guys he has hired have been with him for a while now. They are as reliable as he is - Bob had one of his guys spend an entire day at a house I was trying to sell last year. The house was built in the 20's and was going to be vacant over the winter - they had to run new water lines and install new shut off valves in order to properly winterize the house. I called in late fall and Bob was able to get us into his schedule and complete the job quickly - I have given Bob's name to several other people who have hired him and been equally as pleased.

They're always great to work with. They are always very prompt.

It took care of the problem. It was nice working with them, they were responsive. They worked hard to solve the problem. They gave me a discount on the work as well.

I hired a tile company recommended by Bob to remove and replace the tile in my tub surround. They also removed and disposed of the old steel tub.

It went great - they called ahead so I could meet them there, and the guys were professional and also very nice. I thought the price was fair for the work that they did. I have not had any problems since.

Bob is busy but still responds to a voice mail in a short time. It is a complicated situation, through no fault of the company. I appreciate Bob's patience.

He was responsive and able to find the materials on the holiday. He does good work. He is normally priced reasonable, he is comparable to others but on Holidays you will pay more.

as stated above - first project was great. This time they never showed up or called when promised.

HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY GUTTERS BACKING UP WHICH RUN THROUGH THE POND EXIT DRAIN DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. BOB FOUND OUT WHERE AND FIXED IT.

Bob was responsive and courteous. He arrived as scheduled, spent about an hour and fifteen minutes completing the work. His rates are competitive (base service call plus parts and labor). I will use McHugh's plumbing again.

The area in front of my garage was flooded after a significant rainfall. I have a 12" culvert drain with 4" PVC pipe that carries the collected water down to the footer drains and then out to the storm sewer. I determined that there was a blockage in the PVC pipe carrying the water to the storm sewer. Despite my efforts to clean out the PVC pipe myself, I could not get the drain to function properly. I contacted McHugh's Plumbing. They were tied up with other customers so we set up an appointment for the following Monday. They also offered to call me if they had an opening in their schedule. They showed up on the day of the appointment, performed the work and did a good job of cleaning up after themselves. In addition to a $20.00 Angies List discount, they also cut me a break in the overall price. I found them very professional and I highly recommend them.

Call was good. Agreed to be there at 8:30 Monday morning. Got a call that they were going to be late. Didn't show up until after 9am. To replace a hose it was $240. It was $39 for the service call and $200 for parts and labor. A 99 cent hose probably equates to over a $100 a hour to replace it. Not a happy camper. Would not recommend using this company.

they found the part for this old shower and installed the cartridge. Now the show is leak free and we are very happy for the result. Great service!

I called them at 8:00 and they were here by 9:30 to take care of the problem. I;ve used them several times and I would use them again.

He had to cut through the wall and fix the leak. The faucet had actually detached from the fiber glass wall. He also snaked the a bathtub for us ($145.00). What amazed me was that yesterday, Superbowl Sunday, he called to check and make sure that everything was still okay. Bob is outstanding, forthright, honest and he bent over back words for us. My husband was out of town and he did not take advantage of us and I felt safe having him in my home. He not only cleaned up his mess but he fixed the previous plumbers negligence. He went above and beyond the call of duty. I can see why he has won the Super Service Award, he deserves it!

Bob spent time with us trying to find a hot water heater that got the tax credit that would work for our old house. For numerous reasons, there wasn't one. He gave a thorough explanation and detailed estimate. He scheduled for my convenience and came on time. At the end he explained and tagged what I would need to do if I had to turn off the water, if the pilot light went out, etc.

These plumbers are knowledgeable, capable, prompt and courteous. Bob McHugh returned my initial call the same day. He and his team arrived the day they promised, took care not to track dirt into the house, gave us a written estimate including options where there were some (replace the pressure tank, or simply re-attach the old one), left to buy whatever they needed, and returned promptly to install the new parts. They were a pleasure to have in the house. And, all the new plumbing works beautifully!

I have used this company before. I called Bob on Monday and on Wednesday Joe came to unclog a bathroom sink. I appreciated that Joe called to tell me he was running a little late. Joe covered up areas on the counter and cleaned up really well, as it got pretty messy. I was very pleased with the service. Very professional, personable, and takes time to explain. Will continue to use this company in the future.

This required cutting a (very neat) hole in the wall, removing plaster and wood from the kitchen ceiling, cutting the pipe out of the flooring cement, without damaging the bathroom floor. The team of 4 were able to complete the job in one day. Bob himself cleaned the kitchen floor on hands and knees to make sure everything was neat and clean. We had them come back a week later to change a basement toilet and received the same high quality work.
