Quote was high, but we were in a tight spot so I had to use him. The faucets were worse after they left. They did fix the pipe.

It went very well. Workman was very experienced.

This was for my moms house. Her water heater started leaking on 12/30. We called McHughs, who walked us through turning off the gas and water lines over the phone. The arrived first thing the next morning and had the job done by noon. Great service, fast and clean work.

we are still waiting to hear from him - it is almost 2 weeks later - we will find someone else to do the work

The two people that showed up were polite, promptly went to work, did not track any additional dirt into the house. Also cleaned up the area around the drain and surrounding floor area although most of the mess was not caused by them but was caused by the initial backup.

Everything went well except for the price. I called for an estimate to install the shower cartridge and was quoted a price for service, however, I did inform them I was a past customer but I was not informed that they were offering $20.00 coupon for a service call as a Angie's member.. In addition, I was quoted one price for the cartridge then when the plumber came out and replaced the cartridge I was charged over double then the estimate because it was a larger part. On the positive side they came out quickly the plumber was outstanding.an very professional. Update 05/20/13: Owner called me Sunday night 05/19/13 to provide further information concerning the costs and to address my displeasure. After providing me additional information on the higher costs for the part and honoring the Angie's coupon. I am fully satisfied and providing them an A overall. I am Impressed with owners concern for correcting any issues I had and attempting to resolve the problem and make me a happy customer. I will definitely continue to use them as my plumber.

Plumber (Joe) arrived on time and was extremely professional. He explained to me the issue I was experiencing and what needs to be done in order to get it resolved. I would highly recommend this company for plumbing needs.

Overall, the repairs went well. I wasn't expecting the high bill, but I don't have a good reference to check them against.

Robert arrived five minutes late and apologized profusely for it. I have never had a contractor say he was sorry for anything much less for being essentally on time. He looked over the situation with me and explained well what needed to be done. I don't feel that he tried to sell me work that wasn't needed. He did find that the main water valve was in bad condition and said that if I scheduled that repair soon he would waive the service fee which I appreciate since he is traveling a considerable distance. I will be calling him soon for that. He was polite, neat and I feel the price was fair.

Excellent service. Bob and his crew performed repairs and replacement with no issues.

Had the sewer drain snaked and also viewed the line with camera. Bob was very thorough and explained everything.

Long story here: First, I originally called McHugh plumbing when my hot water heater pilot went out and I couldn't get it relit......that was in early-mid February. Bob came right out. I expected to hear that I needed a new thermocouple......who knew that there was an air intake on the bottom of my hot water heater. It was full of cat fur and toy mice!!!!!! After hearing that additional calls within 30 days would not incur another service call fee (time and materials only), I decided to ask Bob about a bathroom sink which very slow water flow. Bob was supposed to come on Saturday.......Friday, I came home to find the ceiling under the sink soaked! Not only did Bob replace the airator (as scheduled) but the valves and hoses under the sink. While he was there, we opened the panel to the bathtub plumbing.....there was another small leak. Given the choice of fixing it or replacing it, I decided to replace. Unfortunately, Bob himself couldn't make it that day and some of his employees were here. They were good plumbers, but didn't have the same customer care as Bob. They definitely showed that they weren't happy when I took a look at the new faucets/shower head (before they installed fortunately) and pointed out that they were the wrong color. They did go right out and get the correct item. Once that was done, I realized the drain color looked horrible with the new faucets so I had Bob come a 4th time and replace them/snake the drain. All and all, I'm very happy with the work which was performed. I didn't intend to have all of it done, but if I'm having work done, I want it done correctly.

Overall, his service was exceptional. He was running from another job but phoned and let me know that he would be late. He started immediately and was explaining what he was doing as he did it! He is a very professional and pleasant man. I would say he has become my plumber!

Bob was very responsive when I first called for a kitchen sink unclog and to replace a bathroom faucet. He quickly repaired the kitchen and informed me that the bathroom would be a significant labor effort because it was a pedestal sink vs. a vanity. After talking through our long term plans, we decided it made more sense to replace the old/ugly sink and toilet. Bob was invaluable in helping us pick new fixtures from a showroom he works with. Based on his relationship with them and the info he provided us with in advance, the process was quick and easy. Bob's team was the most professional and efficient plumbing group we've worked with. After the job, we asked Bob to return to make a minor adjustment to the toilet and he was happy to return so that we were 110% satisfied. I can't say enough good things about this provider. I will definitely use them again and refer them to friends. I was very impressed with their work.

They were prompt and punctual, very professional, and got the job done quickly. I am very pleased with the quality of the work as well. The price seemed slightly on the high side, but I was OK with it as I knew the work was being done correctly and high quality.

The servicemen arrived on time and were very polite and professional. They removed shoes and respected my home. They got the job done and made sure they left the kitchen and bathroom clean. They were also helpful in answering questions on living with a septic system, which was a new experience for us. Good job! I would call McHugh's again and highly recommend them to my friends and neighbors.

They were thorough and professional from the first encounter and patient in coordinating with the roofers, who were a little late to the job site.

y use them again Bob and a helper came Friday morning Feb. i and installed two lovely high end ,one piece toilets . This inlcuded removal and disposal of the old ones. The price was$750.00 apiece . This was lower than a price a handy man had give me. The men were skilled , efficient , pleasant and respectful of my property. A few weeks previous Bob successfully snaked out a clogged pipe between the sink and bathtub which a reputable local company had been un successful in doing twice. I am delighted to have found Mc Hugh's plumbing and will most certainly use them again

I had called Bob in the past about a plumbing matter, and he helped me resolve it without actually coming out to the home, or charging me anything. Because of that, when I had another problem, I knew I would call him. While winterizing my home, I was unable to completely shut off water to an outside faucet. I figured I would need a new valve. Bob came out and took a look, and agreed with my assesment. Within 20 minutes, he had a crew there and quickly replaced the valve. His crew even walked me through the proper steps to draining the outside pipes to winterize them. Mc Hug's plumbing will be the first call I make if I ever have any more plumbing issues.

The main drain in my utility room was backing up from the utility sink and kitchen sink. The 2 gentlemen snaked the drain three times and made sure that when running a good amount of water in both sinks, nothing was backing up anymore. Though they were a little late, a call was made to advise me of the delay. I also got a call from Bob at the end of the day to make sure the work was done to my satisfaction. They took care to not make a mess in the house and even gave me suggestions for keeping the drains clean. I had this drain snaked at the beginning of November by another company and I didn't get anywhere near the service, advice and the work obviously didn't work very well. Thanks Bob and guys!

the quality of the work done is great with only one minor detail missed. Once Bob & his co-worker arrived they seemed quite focused. However, Bob was on his cell a lot, he was quite difficult to actually get here and start the job. We had him over to quote the job in December 2012 but did not really receive any numbers until January 2013. We started out impressed with him contacting us many times before he quoted the job, but once we agreed to his actually doing the job, it was us contacting him - many times, excuse after excuse -.

I scheduled with Bob the Saturday before, he showed up on time with an employee and worked very quickly to get the job done in one day. This was very important because I could not take any time off of work for the rest of the month and the sink was leaking.

Bob came to diagnose a problem I'd been having with my well water tank. Coincidentally, my husband was installing a dishwasher at the same time. While writing the estimate, Bob noticed we were struggling a bit with the dishwasher and offered to lend a hand. That was really great of him - he had been really busy that whole week and was getting ready to celebrate a family birthday, but he still took the extra time to give us a hand. The morning that the work was to be done, he called to tell me the names of the plumbers he was sending. They were great, too, and really nice guys. That evening, Bob called again to make sure everything went well and I was satisfied with the work. I highly recommend Bob McHugh for your plumbing needs. His reputation on Angie's List speaks for itself.
