Bob's team is very professional and pleasant to work with. I was very pleased to have used him especially when he found a potentially dangerous gas pipe in my crawl space!

Based on the inspection appointment done by the owner, we set up an appointment to have our shower caulked. At the time of inspection he did not have a caulk in the color bone to match. I am guessing this job would have taken less than 2 hrs and per Bob, about $140. That appointment was missed. 4 subsequent appointments were missed, no shows. I spoke to him directly several times. The last call received 9/17/13 at 7:15 pm was 6.25 hours after the missed appointment was to occur earlier that day. Bob promised he would arrive 9/18/13 first thing. He did not come, he did not call. 5 appointments were set up, all missed, all no shows. It has been over a month trying to get him to do the job he said he would do. The shower had to stay dry, causing us an inconvenience. I liked the man, but 100% not reliable and honestly, my time is valuable, it is disrespectful and rude. It is truly unfortunate, but what a terrible experience. To just not show up so many times for a simple job. Never again.

We were receiving excessive iron in the water coming out of our taps; staining all basins, showers, dishwasher, some clothes in the washing machine. Suspecting the source to be the well, I entered "wells" in the Angie's List search tool. I was pleased to see McHugh's Plumbing come up because Bob McHugh and his team have helped us out several times in the past. We were always pleased with their service and quality. Calling the company, Bob said he was booked solid for a few days. Since the problem wasn't critical, we could wait and scheduled at his next opportunity. On the planned day, Bob called about an hour before the scheduled time to say that several jobs were running longer and he would be late. He kept me informed as time progressed. Although several hours late, Bob did come even though it was early evening and he had clearly had a tiring day and it was especially warm. I think this shows his integrity and focus on his customers; I was glad he was willing to put in the extra effort, not postpone, and we prefer to get it done than wait. Bob told me what he was going to look at, why, and kept describing his work as he went through it, as he always has. He diagnosed several possibilities, ruled out several potential problems and we agreed on the likely root cause. He checked on a couple of other small plumbing problems while he was here and solved those too, always offering suggestions that were up to me to decide later. Bob explains everything in easy to understand ways, is always genuine, and ensures that he has answered every question that we have before he leaves. Additionally, although he was on vacation a couple of days later, he showed that he really wanted to be sure we were okay by calling and confirming that the fix had solved the problem; it had.

These guys are great! Bob was responsive, the work crew professional and efficient. He gave me a written estimate detailing the work - called a week before to confirm we were still on schedule -his guys showed up and did a great job. I would definitely use them again

I have used McHugh's Plumbing for a number of years beginning with a friend's recommendation but recently joined Angie's List. McHugh's has consistently performed "A" service so I naturally contacted them for this recent service. Very professional, responsive, and reliable.

Excellent work. Efficient. Passed University Heights inspection on our new home purchase.

Did okay with the initial drain clog and the two toilets. But told me the drain clog needed further work. Said he would call back in May when he had a piece of equipment he needed. Never called back. I finally called him in July. He said he would call me back the next day to make an appointment. Never did. I had someone else do that work.

They were very pleasant, they did job right, and their prices are reasonable.

On 6-3-13, Bob and Brian installed a new faucet in the master shower, which was a lot more extensive than it sounds since there were four shower heads, three controls and plumbing had to be re-routed. They did an excellent job and left the work area spotless. Based on the good results with the work on the master shower, we had McHugh back on 6-24-13 to install a new sewer ejector pump in the basement. The pump was in a hard-to-get-at area in the finished part of the basement. Dan and Steve did an outstanding job of installing the pump and not leaving any residue behind. These are the cleanest plumbers that I have ever seen. Even their trucks are immaculate. They are very professional. Highly recommended.

Plumber had to get another contractor to repair the hole in the ceiling the plumber had to open to troubleshoot leak. There was some back and forth getting everyone on on the same page (took a little longer than I would have preferred) but overall the repair was completed successfully.

Great guys. Very knowledgeable and friendly. There was some delay after I first contacted Bob and I was ready to get someone else to do the work, but it sounds like I called during a very busy time. I was very happy with their service once they finally made it to my house. Great follow-up, too. Great communication about the work they did and explained everything very clearly.

I called McHugh Plumbing in the morning, and he worked around his schedule and made it a priority to install a new Hot Water Heater that day. His crew was extremely nice, courteous and professional. Bob the owner gave me a courtesy call to let me know that someone would be out within the hour which provided me ample time to leave the office with minimal interuption. Excellent Service. Highly recommended.

I had called and they sent someone out the same day. When they came out they told me that all I had to do was pushed a release button underneath the disposal. They didn't do any work except give me advice and still charged me $100. Because of this issue I don't believe I would use them again. Its not the workmanship that I am upset with it is the price they charged for no work.

I had an overall good experience with the company. There were a few things that I think were a matter of communication. For example when we were doing the initial estimate, I was told that the faucet in the back yard was a simple fix. When the time came for the job to be done, the faucet was replaced. I also had said during the estimate that my kitchen sink tends to gurgle or get air bubbles. I was told that they would add something to the trap to allow the oxygen to flow (or something like that). I did not know that the entire pipes would be replaced including a new drain in my sink. Also, as the owner was leaving on the day of the estimate, he noticed that there was a pipe in the driveway that had the cap busted off. He offered to place a screen in there so that no debris would fall in. That was not done. I think it's because he was not on site at during the work and did not mention it to anyone else who was there. None of these things would make me not work with them again. I feel that communication is really important especially since I am relying on the provider to know the things that I do not. In the future, I would make sure everything is written down and that a statement would be added that if something was going to be done differently than on the estimate, I would be advised.

They first used a camera to find the problem, then broke up the concrete, replaced the pipes and then cemented the area.

Well worth the wait. I was coordinating for a elderly relative from long distance. They were very busy (hottest week of the year) and had to reschedule a few times due to emergency calls, but kept calling to keep us up to date on where we were in the work schedule. Given their high review ratings, being in demand is a testament to their work. Very personable and patient to explain the problem as well as progress in resolving. Drain running from house to street was full of root blockage but was able to clear ($475). Saw that the steel tub's drain connection was practically rusted through and pipe from basin was lead (all original to house built in 50's). There was no pressure to accept quote. I had them replace with a durastone basin and added a pull-out faucet ($725). General rule of thumb is labor cost = material cost. I could justify $725 when I considered high reviews, hauling the old tub, picking up the new basin & supplies, installation, plus what my time and expense would have been to drive 6 hours there and back to install myself. Workers were professional and left site clean. Relative saw a little water/suds on floor after doing some laundry. Came back to check without hesitation and adjusted basin pipe to minimize backsplash. Overall very pleased and would definitely use again. Thanks Bob and Brian!

McHugh's plumbing did a great job of handling the plumbing upgrades and repairs for our shower as part of a larger project to demolish our old one and install a new one. They did the majority of the work when we were out of the country, and finished up the job once we got back. They were prompt, professional, and good about staying in contact and explaining what they were doing. We've been using the shower for a few weeks now, and have no complaints about the plumbing.

Everything went well. I was a little surprised that they didn't offer a free estimate, but the work was great.

Highest quality prompt and efficient plumbing work at a fair and reasonable price. One of the reasons they are so very good on everything is that McHugh Plumbing is a family business with years of experience tackling all of the toughest plumbing problems. Along with other projects on this order, McHugh Plumbing economically and promptly ingeniously solved a major plumbing problem in my house that had baffled other plumbers since 1998. They are equally skilled with plumbing in newer houses as well as older houses like mine.

They were on time, friendly, and very professional. They were careful of our pets. They took care of everything in the amount of time they had predicted and were very neat. There were no surprises. We were very satisfied with them and their work and definitely consider them to be our plumbers now.

They worked very hard. They didn't give up and spent hours on one old sink until it worked. They did wonderful. I would call them again. I was very impressed with their work ethic. They were clean, tidy, and nice. You couldn't ask for more.
