We were having new appliances delivered on a Saturday and when my husband removed the old stove on the previous Monday, he realized that the gas line would have to be moved. He called McHugh's Plumbing and Bob came out the next day to fix the problem. This was no easy task as the gas line was tucked behind a rafter next to the foundation wall in the basement. No problem for Bob though. While he was at our home, we also had him replace the shut off valves under the kitchen sink. Bob completed this job in 10 minutes. Bob arrived on time, was friendly, professional and tidy. He even called after the appliances were installed to make sure everything went OK. What plumber out there does that?! Best plumber ever!!!

I sent Bob a message via Angie's list outlining the problem. He called me within the hour and me several questions about the shower. He even had me send him a photo of the shower spa to help confirm the model. I had requested a specific day to have the service completed and Bob was able to schedule it accordingly. He ordered parts and contacted me the day before the service to confirm the appointment. Repair took about 45 minutes.

Sent email from Angie's List to Bob (owner), response was immediate and professional. Tech Replaced sump pump with Zoller pump, installation was performed quickly and neatly within half hour. Sump had one main pump and two backups, only one was functioning. Non emergency situation and work was performed within 2 days of contact. I am very impressed with the Customer service from this company. Would highly recommend for your plumbing needs.

It went very well. Bob McHugh responded to my email on a Wed evening within an hour and said he could come out the following day in the late afternoon as I requested. I liked that he didn't say, "call me tomorrow and we should be able to get to you" which I got from some other plumbers I emailed through the Angies List message center. The following day we exchanged voice mails and scheduled the service call that way. As promised, I got a phone call from Bob at 4:00 telling me that Jason would be at my house within a half hour, which he was. Jason took off his shoes before coming in which I always appreciate. He was very personable, very competent and cleaned up after himself every step of the way. The dirty water that was backing up in the sink he bailed out with a bucket and took outside to dispose of. He got the sink unclogged quickly. He also got me quotes on some other non-urgent plumbing issues I have. It was late in the day but he could not have been more helpful, not rushed at all. My only complaint was the cost which seemed a bit high. It came to $164 and, all told, it took him about 20 minutes to diagnose and fix it. No parts were needed. I would not hesitate to recommend them, however.

It went very well. They were very good at communicating with me and were reasonably priced as well. They cleaned up after themselves and they seemed very knowledgeable.

Bob did excellent work for us a few years ago in our previous house, so we were sure we wanted to hire him again. We did not go for competing quotes, because we know his rates are fair, especially considering the high quality and professional work we've seen from him and his staff. This job went perfectly well. We plan to use McHugh's Plumbing for any future work, too.

They were great. From the first phone call, the service was friendly and on the ball. They cleared the storm and sanitary lines on two different days, and came right when they were expected both days. The owner and all of the employees we met were polite and thorough in explaining what they were doing and why. These two visits were our first experiences with them and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

I called them Saturday and they came later the same day. They had to clean out the roots in my sewer drain. They were great. If I could I would give them AA+

They don't come when they say they are coming and they don't call when they say they will. We did not hear back from him. I waited and waited for him to come and he never showed up. When he finally called back, I had already had another plumber scheduled and had to cancel with them. I was not satisfied and I would not put him on the honor roll. He did keep us informed and let us come check out the work and what he was doing.

Called McHugh's Plumbing to make an appointment for service, which was then scheduled. Matt arrived on schedule and successfully completed the required work. The work was of excellent quality and all employees were very professional.

Robert came by to give me a bid on installing a new tub in an upstairs bathroom. He said he would get me a bid within a few days. That was two weeks ago yesterday. I called last week to inquire about the bid, and the woman who answered took down my email address and said the bid would be sent the next day. Still waiting. This company must be too busy for new work. Pity, as we thought Robert seemed nice, and we like to support small businesses. Back to searching the list.

When we called McHugh's Plumbing to report our problem with the leaking water heater, we received an immediate response from the company to determine how severe the problem was and to schedule a team to come to the house to fix the problem. When it was ascertained we needed a new water heater, Bob McHugh contacted the manufacturer of the old tank and was able to determine from the tank's model and serial numbers that the warranty on the old heater was still in effect. We were able to replace it at a reduced cost thanks to his thoroughness. Tom and Brian, the team who did the work, were extremely professional and their workmanship excellent. We have used McHugh's Plumbing in the past and would definitely recommend them.

Excellent. Two of Bob's people used very high pressure snake to blast debris from line in back and front of my house.

I was very pleased with their work. They knew exactly what they were doing!

Initially there was a lot of back and forth trying to work out a schedule for them to fix my grandparent's kitchen sink due to heavy rains in the area created emergency calls for him. However once the firm appointment was set his worker whom lived the closest came and evaluated the situation. The burst pipe was already initially fixed by another plumber but it somehow leaked after this fix. The McHugh's plumber found that additional hardware was needed due to the age of the house and pipes and came back with another plumber to help. The original plumbing situation in the house was almost like a practical joke! They replaced the old pipe to the sink, drain and garbage disposal, added 3 shut-offs for the pipes that should have been there but never were and even fixed the outdoor water nozzle for my grandfather--even though it was not no their original scope of work! They were professional, courteous, and as my grandfather said, 'they didn't lean on their shovels.' We will be using them again to evaluate and quote a whole house re-plumb since they were even able to increase the water pressure and hot water time for the kitchen sink they fixed!

I called for an estimate and someone called me back within 24 hours to set it up and were out the same week to take a look. The owner of the company did the estimate and took the time to explain all of the details and outline the cost as well as the work that was done. I appreciated how professional he was and that he took the time to even put on shoe covers before coming into my home. Of the three estimates I had, he was the middle one in terms of cost, but it was closer to the low side and I chose McHugh based on their professionalism. He was able to schedule the work on a day of my choosing in a timely manner. The work was done hours ahead of what the estimate was. The work was done well and it has been a week and there are no leaks. My drains are running faster than they ever have before! The workers were kind and professional. I was most impressed by how clean it was when they were finished and how really nothing else in the home was disturbed in any way. They even fixed a little leak they noticed elsewhere in the line at no additional charge. I am very happy with McHugh plumbing and will certainly call on them again if the need arises. I highly recommend them.

I had some frozed pipes in the winter and decided to add a Bathroom onto the house. Bob was super responsive and recommended the Contractor I eventually went with. The plumbing work blended seamlessly with the construction and Bob and his team were super responsive and very quick to action. I had zero difficulties with Bob and his team and all of the work performed was made quickly causing little inconvenience. They were very respectful about the rest of the house and minimizing dirt or inconvenience. It was a joy to work with Bob and I have no hesitation to contact him in the future for any work that may need done. GREAT WORK!!

UPDATE 8/26: In the interest if accuracy: My wife's phone was actually not charged at the time of the calls. When no one showed up for the appointment she called back. The woman she spoke to said that she would try to see if the plumbers were still in the area. My wife did not receive a call back until 8:30pm when someone caught our first post. They said they do not go to homes unless they can speak to someone on the day of the appointment. First time we've heard of that. They offered an appointment another week out. We declined the offer because they did not seem interested in our input regarding their policies. 8/27: Mc Hughs has contacted us again this morning and offered service at a reduced rate. Will update once work has been completed.

I needed a new shower head and a new handheld sprayer. I made the call for them on July 21st and they came out July 31st and did the work. There were 2 gentlemen and they were very professional and they did clean up after themselves. Bob McHugh called and said that if I did not like the materials they brought out that I was not obligated to accept them. I was very happy with the materials they brought out. They did some beautiful work in the bathroom and corrected some things that needed corrected. I am very pleased with the work. In the basement, I had double tubs and they were leaky and unsettling. The faucets were dripping in my basement and the plumbing was bad news. They broke up the concrete, replaced the piping and picked up all of the debris and replaced both tubs. They bolted both tubs to the floor. I had to have them come back out once. This company was extremely busy and they did come back, when I had a concern. I would use them again and thought their pricing was very reasonable.

They do a good job. I would recommend them to anyone. They were pretty responsive and the price was competitive.
