Again, they ran the snake 3 times. Made sure everything would flow before wrapping things up. Were very careful to prevent a mess. Used sheets of cardboard to protect the basement floor. Wore foot covers when walking thru the house. It took them around 2 and 1/2 hours to complete the job so the I felt the $424.00 was very reasonable.GREAT JOB!

I was told, by that the lady I spoke with, that she would let Bob know that I called. I never received a call back.

The work went very well, the 2 plumbers showed up at the time that I was told they would come. Before they started they placed tarps down on all of the carpeted areas that they would have to walk on plus the placed plastic covers over there shoes. The entire job took approximately 6 hours.

He found out the problem in just a few minutes and fixed the problem very quickly and efficiently. I would recommend him completely. He is the best plumber I have ever had to work in my house.

We have older home with a good deal of cast iron plumbing.Taking a shower in the 2nd floor bathroom was always problematic because the water drained out "sooo" slowly. We would periodically the clear drain only to have it clogged again. I became pretty good at running an electric snake down the line to unplug things. Recently my best efforts failed to remove the standing water from the tub. It was at that point that I called on McHugh's Plumbing. The company has an A List rating. Bob and Jason responded to the call. After confirming that snaking the drain from the 2nd floor did not work they climbed into the basement crawl space. There they identified that the entire cast iron drain pipe was badly impacted with waste that had accumulated over decades. They provided 2 approaches to address the problem. I chose to replace the cast iron tub line and drain with pvc piping. A clean out was added in the basement crawl space to facilitate future access should the drain become plugged again. The work in the crawl space was dirty and cramped but Bob and Jason jumped in and attacked the job with gusto. We could not have asked for a better outcome, nor for a more professional and courteous pair of plumbers.

Bob (the owner) was great and so were his guys that came out. I called after 5:00 in the evening and he answered and committed to come out the next morning since our sewage was not draining. He called back the next morning and set a time to come and then even had a guy come earlier which was a plus given how much they had to do on my lines. They were working in the basement, then had to remove a toilet to snake the main drainage line out toward the street, then when it backed up they snaked that line all the way up to the house from the street too. They helped get everything flowing again. All the guys were very professional and friendly. Cleaned up very well after themselves too.

I feel like I was overcharged. Originally I was told by the office assistant that I would only be charged $69 for their plumber to come out and do the estimate and if they needed to come back and actually perform the work. I would not be recharged for them having to come back out. I was charged a total of $155 after being told, that the normal charge would be $219 for the caulking work. I wrote a check for the total amount of $155 and gave it to Plumber. The Plumber informed me, that their company could not perform the work. It would have to be a company that could do caulking about the bathtub/shower, it was not a plumbing issue. I called back the next day, to question the total amount of the charge, because I was under the assumption I will only be charged the $69 for the estimate. The office assistant agreed and acknowledged that she remembers saying that and would pass the message up the chain on command to the owner, Bob. I have yet to hear any word back from the company in regards to me being over charged.

Timely, courteous and job well done!

It went very well. First they plunged the first toilet in about 2 minutes. I spent a day doing the same to no avail. Second they pull the master bath toilet and then the fun began. The toilet rocked and fthats what I wanted fixed. The flange was slightly larger than normal, the flange was not fully secured to floor, the supply line needed a shut off valve and it leaked. The flow master stopped working and the seal to the tank was defective. They had a brand new service van and were missing some repair parts and had to run to the store ( 2 times) When the guys were done, I was very happy with their work. I work hire them again!

Plumber arrived the second day after we called for service. Cleared up clogged drain in bathroom sink. Very professional. Thank you.

The technician was on time, extremely polite, and explained in detail what had happened and what was needed. Timing was critical to immediately follow the water removal. They responded promptly on short notice and worked with the other contractor to make everything happen as needed. I highly recommend this company.

WONDERFUL, arrived right on time, very professional team, explained everything in detail and was able to not only fix the problem but make suggestions on preventing the problem in the future. found the septic tank, snaked toilets and shower, cleared all the piping and cleaned up afterwards. Thank Goodness I found these guys!! They are my new plumber.

We just moved in and noticed some water dripping into the basement from the master bath area above. We thought there was a leak in a pipe somewhere. Mr. McHugh came out to examine the piping and quickly came to the correct conclusion that the water was coming from the shower, which was not properly caulked. So he caulked the shower control. He noticed too that the laundry tub faucet was leaking and informed me of that fact. He also installed the first hose bib. On the second visit, We had a frost free hose bib installed in the front of the house and had the laundry tub faucet replaced. The hot water valve to the master bath was also replaced. The work was very high quality and done in a professional manner. This company does not use cheap parts (no PVC), so you know the parts will last a long time. The owner and employee took care to protect the interior of the house by turning off the water and wearing proper shoe covers. I listed responsiveness as "good" because they are so busy. So it is hard to get scheduled. I would recommend this company if you are doing some major plumbing work or a house renovation. The people seem to know what they are doing, and they will get it done correctly.

Outstanding from start to finish. Very prompt, courteous, pleasant, did a great job, excellent follow up. I wish all service providers were as thorough as them.

I have used them a number of times and would not consider any other plumber because they do things the right way every time. This is a family business with years of experience that is the best in the business on reliability, efficient expertise, thoroughness, and a very fair price. Only seasoned veterans like them can very quickly determine the cause of the most difficult and complex plumbing problems and solve these problems efficiently at a fair cost at the highest professional level.

I had 3 estimates done from 3 plumbers. Each was competitive with the others' for the same work. I selected McHugh's because it was local to me, and the start date provided was not as far out as the other two. A carpenter did the flooring, walls, and painting. Plumbers removed the 1950s era porcelain tub, and replaced it with a new model tub. When one part of the job was done, it was time for the tradesmen to do their part The job started about 3 weeks after it was initially supposed to due to some personal issues experienced by the carpenter. From my vantage point, this was understandable although I could see it to be problematic if I was still raising small children or had a big entertainment event planned for my home on a specific date. The workers were professional and courteous. The workmanship appears to be of high quality. They were careful to minimize the mess caused by remodeling and disposed of their trash..

The lady was very rude and did not follow through on calling me back to reschedule.

We were very happy with both jobs, their timeliness, excellent communications and the results. We plan to use them for all our future plumbing work.

Bob was waiting on me as I pulled up to the house. He did a thorough evaluation of what I needed and made many suggestions. Initially I was just wanting easy repair work done, but realized after talking to Bob that in the long run I would be happier and the work would be more cost effective if I had it done now. Once I agreed he set to work right away and then his brother and two other guys showed up to assist. They worked quickly and did an excellent job especially since the faucets were crap and bolts were rusted in place which meant they had to do some work to get the old faucet out. I have to say that the new downstairs toilet is excellent- Bob was certainly correct in his recommendation. This is a great team of guys who were personable, did their work efficiently and did an excellent job, and finished in record time and out the door without problems. I have no problem recommending them to anyone who wants quality work, done efficiently and at a good price. Thanks Guys!

iA pipe to my outdoor faucet broke during the winter, and it wasn't until August when my garage ceiling started to "rain" that I was aware. Matt of McHugh's Plumbing cut three holes in the drywall of the ceiling, removed ten feet of copper pipe, replaced it with new pipe that he angled to make sure it drained fully in the future guaranteeing no more burst pipes, and then insulated the area. He made sure I understood what the problem was, what he was doing about it, and how I could prevent future problems. A couple of days after the fix, McHugh's called to make sure I was happy with the work and to see if I had any further questions. I had them replace my water heater a few months earlier, and that went very well, too. They are service-oriented, clean up after themselves, a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend them.

I called Rob McHugh early on a Saturday morning and explained that our water heater sprang a leak. After providing information about our current installation, Rob sourced a replacement water heater quickly and dispatched a tech to swap out the unit. Within 2 hours Matt, the technician, had arrived with a new water heater and all necessary supplies to make the repair. The replacement went smoothly. Matt was very professional. The quality of work was exceptional and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend McHugh's Plumbing for any plumbing work.

Called on Sunday and Bob, the owner, took the call. He gave me several options and the cost of each. Since it was not dire, we scheduled the house call for Monday, approximately 1 PM. Bob called me promptly on Monday, stated the plumber doing my job was done early and would be at the house shortly after 12. We both arrived at the same time. Steve introduced himself; very personable, polite, and professional. Steve explained the process, investigated the situation, and gave me a range on the pricing before he started. Steve donned the booties, laid down runners in the house, brought in the router and went to work. He explained each step along the way. To my surprise, Bob stop by; he was in the neighborhood and wanted to see how things were going. Due to the clog, Steve ended up running the "snake" twice through the sewer pipe since he didn't like what he was seeing. He changed the bit and the second run did the trick. Based on the age of the house, over a hundred years, Bob explained some of the typical problems with an old house. It seems that whether human or house, plumbing can be a source of significant problems with age. Both Steve and Bob mentioned they could run the camera to be certain of the sewer pipe's condition. He gave me an excellent price for the peace of mind. Fortunately, the pipe was in good shape; he showed me the source of the blockage and possible causes. Bob suggested some basic preventive maintenance I could perform on my own to keep things in working order. I would definitely recommend Bob and his team.
