We wanted to build a relatively modest, energy efficient home, a style not found in the usual high-end development. The problem was finding a building site. Jason, the company representative we worked with, was very helpful in assisting our search. We found some undeveloped land and were set to move forward, but in the process of investigating the new community we found a nice, well-maintained house in a very pleasant neighborhood. While the house doesn't match what we wanted to build, it's a good place. Ultimately it came down to a decision between building on a rural lot or buying in a leafy neighborhood. Ultimately, "neighborhood" won out, at least for now. But the desire to build remains. Payne & Payne has a reputation as a high-quality builder. We went with them in part, because they were building a custom home that matched what we had envisioned. We did a walkthrough of the partially completed structure and were impressed with both the design and the quality of the workmanship. We liked it very much. Jason was great to work with. He is knowledgeable about both construction and design. He was quick to understand and help us articulate what we were wanting to build. We were very comfortable with the process. Our interaction was a collaboration. Had we not found the other place, we would have confidently moved forward with the building project.

These folks have tremendous resources, from sales, to designers and architects, project and field supervisors all on their staff. Their office has a showroom where you can often pick any the materials or items needed for your project without driving all over. They have developed a series of trade partners who are excellent and reliable with what they do from excavation to masonry to frame and carpentry to finish. I'm a very particular buyer, as an engineer I insist on loads of detail on what I'm buying in advance. And when the work is done, I expect to see what was promised. Exactly. Not all their customers are this interested and fussy about details. That's ok because they make pretty good decisions on your behalf.n they have tried and true methods, suppliers and trades and don't settle for cheap. They will not be the least costly. But usually you get what you pay for. Sure, we had problems from time to time as on any construction project. But they followed through and made it right so far. They are absolutely worth you time to consider for your remodeling or new home.

He tried to keep it within our budget.
