This past winter water from ice dams seeped into the house on the north side of the roof, causing the ceiling in the living room to fall and the north wall of the living room to buckle. Mr. Fitch came out to the house three times and blamed the problem on everything but the new roof, including our gutter guards and our attic. Another roofer inspected the roof installation, removed six feet of shingles and discovered the ice guard that was installed was thin inferior quality. Nail holes in the ice guard showed rust signs signifying the water had seeped through the ice guard into the house. He installed superior ice guard and replaced the shingles. We will still have to do replace the ice guard and shingles on the south side of the house and have the ceiling and wall in the living room repaired.
Description of Work: Removed existing roofing on house. Re-roofed with 30 yr shingles. Used 2 courses of ice guard, 30# felt underlayment. Installed ridge vent and new flashing and drip edge.

He was referred to us by my husband s co-worker. He showed us other work he s done. He talked to us about replacing some of our woodwork vinyl. We told him you can t do that in a historic district without special permission and the wood has to be really bad. He was kind of butting heads with my husbands. We knew what we were talking about and I don t think he liked that. I called him 3 days after the date we had requested the estimate and I got the answering service. I let them know he still hadn t got back to us with the estimate and that this was the second call. She said she was surprised. He must not have felt like doing this job because he never got back to us with an estimate. When he came out he was within 30 minutes of the time he said he would come out.
Description of Work: He came out and looked at our roof. It is a big roof and we are in a historic district so it has to be done a certain way. He was telling us what his plans were and we were asking why he wanted to do it that particular way and why we couldn t do it another way. He had an attitude that it had to be done his way or no way. We tried to explain that we were working with the historic architect and we have to have certain things certain ways.
