Played phone tag with office staff and never ended up receiving a final callback to schedule appointment.

Mr. Arnold came out and did the estimate during a home purchase. He charged $100 to do the estimate because it was part of a real estate deal (protects him from folks using his expertise as a negotiating tactic without any real intent to use his services). The amount would be credited to the final bill if we used him. When we did decide to use his company, he asked for 30% upfront and the remainder at the end of the job. Mr. Arnold came out at the first hint of good weather and completed the job without interruption. We were most impressed by the fact he and his workers did the digging by hand to preserve our yard (its still thawing!). He also asked my husband to come and look at the work at various stages which was reassuring. They cleaned up very well and were very polite. They even leveled a small area that was not part of the contract with dirt. They also gave us the lowest cost estimate.

He gave me three different levels of repairs. He was able to build a basic chimney from the roof line up. He suggested we place a cover on the entire chimney to prevent water from running through the bricks and mortar prolonging chimney life. What impressed about them was that he was able to work me in the schedule. He really understood the situation and was able to squeeze me in. He was very common sense, pleasant and nice to work with. They came in; completed the work, and moved on so the roofers could do their job.

Was a bit expensive IMO but he was local and his father had done the same work for me a few years ago. It seems odd that they wanted 1/3 paid before they'd even begin working. (I was a repeat customer after all.) I think maybe they are having money problems as anytime a contractor wants a bunch down I believe it indicates they are popssibly short on cash. They sent me a bill for the balance which I had planned on paying before the 30 days after completion was up. They called on the 24th day wondering where the payment was. On the 27th day he came to our house and was less than kindly with my wife. We left him a check in the mailbox as he agreed too. Pretty pushy and poor demeanor on his part. Not good for cultivating future business.

About seven years ago, we needed to have 3/4 of our foundation replaced due to water pressure pushing on the walls and causing the South wall of the basement to buckle in. This was a $15,000.00 out of pocket repair as home owners insurance does not cover this type of problem. All work was done well and passed inspection. This past winter was very cold and the constant freezing and thawing caused a horizontal crack in the top course of the masonry. The main support beam of the house did not have the proper amount of room to move and that is what caused the problem. Larry Arnold came out and inspected the situation and made recommendations as to how to fix the problem. Larry was very professional and courteous. The two man crew arrived promptly on the scheduled date. They were also very professional, courteous and neat. They preformed an excellent repair of the basement wall.

They did a great job. They were very professional, and they did good work. They did what they said they were going to do, and they cleaned up after themselves. They operated as all good businesses should.

I enjoyed working with these people. They knew what needed to be done and did it quickly and successfully. Seemed very knowledgeable about how to repair my steps. They worked hard and went beyond what I expected.

We called for an estimate and Larry Arnold came right out and gave the job a thorough inspection. He suggested that we also include some re-pointing of the garage foundation and we agreed. He gave us an excellent reference for some railing we were going to have installed. We hired him and the job was done in a day and looks terrific. All joints color-match and look as good as new. No mess was left behind. A great experience.

They did an excellent job. They also did a little waterproofing for us where we were having a leak.
