This was actually the most expensive estimate I received, but I went with Greene because: 1. the estimate specified that the finished, leveled patio would slope away from the house, 2. Greene offers a 10 year warranty, and 3. everyone I spoke with from the company was tremendously nice. The work was done yesterday, and it went off without a single hitch. The crew arrived on time (actually a few minutes early), the work was done efficiently, the clean-up was extremely thorough, and every worker was polite and pleasant. The patio now looks terrific, and I have the peace of mind of knowing that if any problems arise, the work is under warranty for 10 years. I highly recommend this company. :-)

Received a quick estimate after my initial contact with the company. Brian Greene left a written estimate for me along with a voicemail explaining his recommendation for leveling out my driveway. I was mostly concerned about the slabs next to my garage but he also looked over my entire driveway and highlighted several other slabs near the street that also needed attention. When I called him back he explained everything that would be done. I called to schedule and the work was done within a week. I really liked the 10 year warranty. The price was also very reasonable. I would recommend them to others that needed concrete leveling.

After 10 years the driveway developed a low spot where water would settle after a rain or thaw enough that it became a nuisance. Before the low spot became obvious, the driveway drained just fine. After doing the usual research (including Angie's List), Greene company was called. The owner's verbal face to face conversation was that he believed he can make the drainage problem better but it may not be perfect. We accepted that. Even if some puddling occurred, it would be better than what we had. The result after $800 of their service was the puddle was just moved to our side door (making it more hazardous) and is even worse than when it was further down the drive...the water basically got pushed back up the drive from where the blocks were raised. In May when the job was done, we told the head crew person that the blocks were being raised too high. He told us that the blocks were overfilled on purpose because leveling material shrinks. Because of the shrinkage, the blocks that caused the new back up of water will settle back down. We need to give it a couple of months. Well that never happened. What appeared to be a very slow drain testing it initially after the blocks were raised ended up not being a slow drain after all. We are not engineers, but the question that comes to mind is that if four cement blocks were causing a pooling then why were eight cement blocks lifted and why where they lifted as high as they were. The original estimate stated "raise 6 driveway blocks in low area near hose reel in an attempt to minimize puddling in this area." Perhaps if only six blocks were lifted we would not have had the back flow that we have now which is by our side door. To minimize puddling would mean just that...not moving the puddling to another area. Minimize means to reduce to the smallest possible amount or degree. In mid-November, my husband called the company and told them of the problem. They sent out workers and not a one was part of the original crew and were told that nothing can be done and that WE would have to install a drain system that will "only" cost us about $200. My husband called the company back and asked for the owner to come out. We were left a message by the owner that he had told us that more blocks had to be lifted and we didn't agree to that. If that is the case then why did the initial written estimate state only six blocks needed to be lifted. This estimate was left in our door because we never saw them or talked to them at the time of inspection. We asked for the owner to come out after the written estimate was left and, yes, we talked about additional blocks, but they were sidewalk blocks that we decided not to do. When the owner, Randy, came out we were told: 1) they did nothing wrong; 2) never said he would fix the problem and was doubtful (if so and we were told up front, we would have canceled the job/estimate); 3) chipmunks could have done that (meaning dig out dirt when showing him how much higher the driveway was raised above the dirt line where before it was even); 4) driveway is too flat with no real slope (the drive did drained just fine until the low spot developed); 5) no it wasn't (after showing him where the drive is now above the cement pad by the side door where before the fix was level with the pad); 6) call a company to tear out concrete, put in a drain, connect it to our downspout system and lose two bushes in the process. My husband was hoping to come to an agreement of shared costs of raising blocks to eliminate the new puddling. It never reached that point...the owner just seemed to be recalcitrant and pushed the idea of installing a drain system.
Description of Work: Raised 8 driveway blocks. Puddling that was supposed to be minimized ended up being pushed back up the drive to our side door.

On the evening of Sunday, June 14 I requested a free estimate via their website after having researched them on Angie's List. (I don't always hear back from contractors when I reach out to them via Angie's List--some who have responded have said they don't sign in every day to check that email so I've found it's easier to just call or go through the individual sites for the quickest response). They got back to me the next day that someone would be out that week to assess and either talk to us if we were home or leave a quote and call us later. One of us was home when Rich came out. He was very nice and explained that they could not do the entire driveway because a number of the slabs contained too many cracks but said they definitely level the six closest to the garage. I emailed on Wednesday to request the work be done. They responded later that day that they would get in touch the following week with possible dates based on their other jobs and locations. On Wednesday of the following week they called and said they were getting off a job early and were in the area and could perform the work that day--we needn't be home. I said yes and when I got home from work everything was already done. Everything was cleaned off, the hose was back in its place and the slabs were level to the garage again. The large crack was caulked--it's not exactly a subtle repair but I knew it was too big a crack to hide. The drill holes are definitely noticeable but that's the nature of the beast of this work. We're just having our first big day of rain since the repair and so far so good. (I initiated this work because I was having flooding problems with water running up the driveway toward the house and on the porch.) At this point, I would definitely use them again. This was definitely friendly, quick and painless and the work seems to be high quality. I'll update again on the repair in a few weeks and after the winter.

I have mixed feelings. I was surprised to see that the materials that they used for leveling was white and it still shows. Some of the caulking is coming up in one area and they are coming back to fix that. Very professional, just concerned about the substance that they used.

Great experience - I highly recommend. Received prompt estimate within 3 days of contacting provider. Chose more expensive of the two estimates. Asked to fix 12 panels, company ended up leveling 14 panels at no additional charge. Crew was on site for more than 5 hours and used an entire trunkful of sand to complete project. Comes with 10 year warranty. It's clear this company does this process the correct way or else they would not provide a 10 year warranty. Very happy with how this project ended up - great value and super easy experience.

This was a smooth and very professional process. After 1st message inside Angie's list to R. Greene I quickly received a message & call. An appointment was set for an estimate. Within a few days the estimator was here, inspected and provided me with a number. Not inexpensive, but fair. Small job still requires quite a bit of equipment and 2 technicians. The 2 man crew arrived within 48 hours. A very small job, but in a difficult spot where 2 large concrete slabs had sunk. Necessary to match up 48" wide 15" long walkway with 2 step stoop at house, 15 feet to deck where slab was at least 2 inches low, and still match up to driveway to avoid any trip hazard. All at the same time keeping a decent grade away from the house and drive so water would drain away and not puddle and freeze right outside the door/stoop. Excellent overall result. 4-5 holes drilled in each slab to control movement of the slabs. Drawing near to completion, technician used a hose to be certain water was draining away from house and would not puddle. Warranty against re-settling, and professional friendly workers. This is the way it should be. One last thing. Great care was taken filling the drilled holes with concrete, smoothing and matching to existing surface texture. All in all it turned out better than expected. You can't go wrong with this firm.

Someone came out to take a look and left me a phone message stating that I didn't require their services and instead gave some possible low cost / no cost suggestions for addressing the problem. My husband and I appreciated their honesty and their suggestions. I'll definitely call them if I need their services in the future.

Price was ok - but I did not contact many companies to compare. I had used a Greene leveling many years ago and accepted their bid. The back patio was difficult and the one company I had contacted would not do it -- because they did not drill holes into the concrete. Greene does use this method. It is not very discrete method. However, my situation required us to use this method. A large crack in the cement occurred. - they do warn you that it may happen in their contract. But I had never had work like this done so I did not realize what that meant. The patio was raised but a large crack did occur. The patch job was so inadequate. Plastic sealing caulk was used but since the hole was so deep it just fell through. The crack in the public sidewalk was also poorly done. We called the company to repair the cracks properly. An attempt was made by the company We eventually had another repair person complete it since we were preparing for the point of sale inspection by the city. The quality of work - accepting adequate instead of performing superior work - was missing.
Description of Work: leveled 5 public sidewalk blocks and filled in cracks. Leveled 3 front walkway blocks and leveled the back patio - major job.

It started out being $500 for five blocks and then it ended up being $700 for two more blocks, because when he raised five blocks, then he had a huge gap between the remaining side walk and what he had raised and through our walking around at night could kill you on that big gap there. So he did two more blocks so as to ramp it. So again, it didn’t turn out as what I had expected because of the huge gap between the leveled and the huge block and it was more than I thought it was going to be originally. $700 is a lot of money. I guess, for what he did, he did it right, based on what I had there, so it was hard for him to do anything other than what he had done, so I can’t fault him for that. I thought $100 a block for leveling was very expensive but other people I called, nobody would come out, and he was the only person that would come. He came out very quickly, was very prompt and on time. I was disappointed for the money involved that it didn’t come out completely leveled all the way down the side of the house. Well people are telling me for $200 or $300 more, I could have had concrete poured the whole side of the house but I didn’t invite any bids for completely new concrete work.

All went well. Randy's workers arrived on time and it only took about an hour. Drilling the holes was noisy, of course, but we were able to close off the room from the rest of the house. They swept up the concrete dust and wiped down the floor after they were done. Mudjacking from beneath this floor was a better and cheaper alternative to having concrete spread on top of the floor, for which we had received an estimate of about $2800.
Description of Work: Our laundry room is on a concrete slab. Several years ago the floor cracked along one wall and subsided about 3/4 inch. R J Green leveled the floor using a method called mudjacking. 7 to 8 holes about 1-1/2 inches in diameter were drilled through the concrete and a cement/mortar solution was pumped under pressure into the voids beneath the floor. As the solution filled the voids, the concrete rose up until it was level with the rest of the floor.

We agreed on a day for them to come when I would be at home, but then they came a day early when I was away. I really wanted to be there when they came out so I could give feedback on the job. They do not appear to have a schedule. As I feared, parts of the job were initially not done to my satisfaction, so I had to call them to come back. They came back within a day or two without giving me a hard time. They did the rest of what I wanted and it looks good. I would use them again depending on the particular job I needed done.

Green concrete leveling is the person to pick in Northeast Ohio period. I have had many estimates for multiple projects that we are juggling this summer and without a doubt Rich Green and his staff have the highest level of integrity and honesty of all the people that I have dealt with. We were also considering raising a very old patio covered with an epoxy stone surface that was far from level. So this job could have been much bigger, besides the work that was performed. Rich was the only person that advised against the patio work. Though there were obvious cracks he was concerned that there could have been more fractures still concealed by the epoxy stone that did not heave and crack each winter. It could have been impossible to level. He provided some other ideas that will work out. We will use this company again in the future when we will level the sidewalk that runs from the front of the house to the shed (Whoever had this place previously loved concrete!) Thank you for a job well done. We appreciate it!
Description of Work: Fixed problem concrete perfectly!
