Muffy and JoEllen were very punctual and efficient. They knew exactly what they were doing and what I needed. And all I had to basically do was to sit and sort boxes of items into categories and then tell Muffy and JoEllen where to put them. We purchased shelving units and bankers boxes to accommodate my newly-organized items. We also generated more than several bags of trash, and they took away the items to be donated. I can now walk through the family room area without fear of tripping and falling when I need to use the laundry room.
Description of Work: Clean out and organize my family room/basement in my split level house. Because I really don't use my downstairs family room, it became a total mess--a "catch all" for anything I didn't know what to do with or just wanted to move out of another room. Since I am somewhat disabled, I was not able to tackle this project myself because I have no strength and can't lift or move the boxes. And don't walk or stand well, so I would not be efficient at this project at all.

JoEllen returned my call and provided some information about their services and fees, and asked me about the project I had in mind. When they arrived, they got right to work organizing my personal files that included some financial documents, insurance, etc. They brought all labelling supplies with them. I really very much enjoyed meeting the representative from this company. I think she had some good overall thoughts for organizing various rooms. The struggle I had was that scheduling for the services was not an option for evenings or weekends, (I work 9-5) and it was stated that I would need to take a vacation day so the work could be accomplished. I found a different service that offered the hours I was looking for.

They were very prompt and friendly. The ladies showed up and quickly accessed the situation and went right to work. The work was completed in less time than I anticipated. They had many great organizing ideas. Before the organization I spent hours a week trying to locate things for my business. With the new system they set up, I have cut out every one of those wasted hours. I find things instantly now and love the extra time that has freed up. I already thinking of ways I can use them again. The service was reasonably priced.

It went better than exceptional !
Description of Work: JoEllen and Muffy came about a year before this last visit to help me organize my kitchen,office and basement. They were so nice and professional, and did such a great job- as well as teaching me some of the tactics to keep things the way they left them, that when I moved, and several months later was packing my car suffered a foot fracture that prevented me from finishing the job of getting the upstairs of my house ready to show for renting, I called them and asked for a huge "favor". They took over and totally cleared and broom cleaned what was left in my upstairs, and roughly organized - with room to move- within a week. I don't know what I would have done without them !

Basement was a total wreck before they showed up. Was in great shape afterwards. I only but $1 in the cost because I forget what it was now. All I know is that when I wrote the check I did not feel that the cost was excessive.

Their ad states, "We help individuals who are OVERWHELMED in their homes..." As a single mom, new to the area with a new job that keeps me at the office often more than a dozen hours a day, I am that overwhelmed person. I called them and had them come to give me an estimate. So far, so good. When I called to hire them, they informed me of a requirement -- I had to be present. They don't work evenings or weekends, so I offered to have my babysitter be in the home, and I would be available by phone. That wasn't good enough -- they rejected me as a client because I couldn't physically be there. Here's the thing -- if I could be home all day, I wouldn't NEED professional organizers. I could do the job myself. I don't have the flexibility to work at home, which is why I'm overwhelmed and looked for a professional organizer. While I found them to be responsive and reasonably priced, I had to give them an overall D, because of the hidden requirement. If they update their website and Angie's list ad to reflect this requirement, I'll take this review down. They may provide a terrific service, but I'll never have the chance to find out. On to find organizer who truly wants to help overwhelmed individuals. My first question will be -- do you have evening/weekend hours? Second question -- if the answer to your first question is no, are you willing to work with my babysitter in the home? Oy.

Muffy and JoEllen arrived on time. I had several jobs I wanted done and was unsure of where to start. They helped me to prioritize my list and came up with a plan. They were good listeners and understood my needs. They came up with suggestions for ways to organize things. Both women were very pleasant and easy to get along with. They are hard workers with lots of energy. I have to admit, on the second visit I was feeling exhausted by lunch time from carrying boxes up and down the stairs, but both of them were still full of energy. I already have another visit scheduled. I would never have been able to accomplish these jobs by myself. After each session I felt as though we had accomplished a lot and I was very pleased with the results.
Description of Work: I can't say enough positive things about Organizing 4 U. These ladies are very good at what to do. The services I needed required not only organizing, but moving my entire office, furniture and all, to another room in my house. They helped me to disassemble my very large desk from Ikea, move it and reassemble it. Then we moved files, papers, books and my computer. On another visit they helped me to organize and label all of my Christmas paraphernalia, organize classroom papers and materials, and to bring all of my grandsons toys and books to the basement and set up a space for him to play. All of this required not only organizational skills, but making trips up and down stairs carrying boxes of "stuff".

Joellen and Muffy are rock stars! Over the past 9 months I have had them over on 3 different occaisions. I was in a state of despar over the condition of our home. My hubby and I are pack rats and "stuff" had just taken over. A friend suggested I hire a professional organizer. To be honest, I didn't know that such people existed. I researched companies in my area and found Organizing4U. Their references were impeccable and I felt a real connection after speaking to Joellen for the first time. She came to our home for a consultation. I really appreciated the fact that she was so non judgemental and pointed out the things we were doing "right". I couldn't wait to start! Our first project together was my kitchen. My hubby, Joellen and I worked on it all day. By the end of the day, everything had a home or it was given to charity or trashed. It is so much easier to clean now that everything has a place. Our second visit involved Joellen, Muffy and myself. Muffy is such a sweetheart! I can tell why they are such awesome partners. While Joellen and I worked in my bedroom, Muffy tackled my sons' room and the spare room. We had so many clothes that they boys outgrew. Muffy kept a running talley of the things that went to charity for our records. Our third visit involved the three of us again. This time, we went through the thousands of pieces of mail invading my home. I feel like these ladies are old friends. They are just so easy to work with. You never feel pressured to part with or change something in a way that makes you uncomfortable. I already recommend them to family and friends. They are worth every penny!

Joellen initially came to my home to give an overview of services and costs. I decided to hire and signed a contract with a deposit. The appt was for the following week. Joellen called the day ahead to confirm and she and Muffy were at my door promptly. They explained that they were self-sufficient, bringing their own refreshments and lunch. They stopped VERY briefly for their lunch and were back to work quickly! Each woman sorted different piles of paper and and labeled files for me, while my job was to trust their judgement and review items they passed to me for opinion/need. I trusted them and still trust them completely! They finished up per the time estimate that Joellen had provided when she came to do the overview/estimate. I will be calling them in the future (I need their oomph to get through more med bills). I highly recommend Organizing 4U if you truly want professionally organized and you need a boost and advice to get there.

Tremendous. JoEllen and Muffy were punctual and professional. They were focused and valued my time. They helped me to organize the paperwork from my family and two businesses into a cohesive working system. Everything has a home so papers no longer end up in limbo cluttering my desk. I think of myself as an organized person, but there are times that everyone needs help. I succumbed to getting help and am so glad that I did. It was well worth it!
