The communication with Dan was wonderful and PJ did a great job on all of our projects! We were in need of a contractor to help with various things around the house and are so happy that we finally found a quick, affordable and reliable company. We will deifnitely be back when more projects come up...which certainly happens often in an old home such as ours!

There was an oversight on his part on fixing couple of areas. When we pointed it out, he was responsive and he addressed them prior to cashing the check. I struggle with the fact that he missed the areas that we had specifically pointed out to be addressed. His overall workmanship is good. His price seemed pretty high.

Dan did a great job with doing all of the jobs we needed done to the exterior of our home. He came out and did a walkthrough a week or two before the job and gave us a written quote. He was receptive to what we needed done and pointed out two things that I wasn't aware of. He emailed to check with me on availability for the next week and was prompt. He called me to update on progress and I felt very at ease knowing how things were going, while I was at work. Coming home to find everything done perfectly. We will be calling him back to do things in the future.

He has always done a beautiful job on anything we needed him for. We would recommend him to anyone. He is always polite and cleans up after his work is done.

We called several companies to provide quotes on a variety of issues for a newly purchased home. Unlike some, Dan was able to provide the service for most of our to-do list including designing & building a 2.5'x18' safety railing on a loft area (raising the clearance from 33"), installing an exterior door in our basement, and reinforcing front and back deck railings. Dan was prompt and professional in communicating. His quote was very competitive. We decided to go with him for the work and we are very happy with the results. Dan was able to design a railing for our loft area that was safe for our small children and matched the aesthetics of the room. Furthermore, he worked very fast and was very good with our toddler. We had to wait about a month between the estimate and when he was available to do the work, but it was well worth the wait. I wouldn't hesitate to work with Johnson's Home Improvement Services again for a future handyman or construction job.

He was very accommodating. It was kind of interesting because he pulled the board up, expecting to just replace the board or straighten it? and it turned out we had rotting from the foundation of the house and the deck really wasn't safe. He was leaving for a vacation in a day or two and so he got a jack and brace for the deck so that it was safe until he got back, put them back and take care of it. It was two different things? so it was $600 each time. He was very pleasant, easy going and he went out of his way to help out with the difficult situation with the deck. As a matter of fact we have another small problem and you saved me the trouble of finding his name.

No response. It has been several days and not a word. Nothing aggravates me like being ignored. Just show me the courtesy of a response.

Dan's quality and workman ship are very high. He can and does handle a wide variety of tasks. My original project grew and Dan was accommodating.Services took about a month from start to finish. He is easy to work with and it was easy to see and understand why his ratings on Angie's List are so high. They are deserved. I plan to hire Dan again

Over the years, we have hired many folks to take on these smaller projects and have often been disappointed by the craftsmanship or overall quality. We could not be more pleased with the work that Dan did for us. We are so thrilled to have found him and are disappointed that it took us this long to find someone who is as skilled/talented, time efficient, professional, honest, and communicative as Dan. On top of it all, he's a really nice guy, with a great sense of humor. Almost hate to give this stellar review for fear that he wont have time for us in the future! We contacted Dan a little over a month ago, with a list of nearly 20 things that needed to be built, repaired or replaced. We initially thought we'd ask Dan to only take on the non-electrical tasks, but in the end he did it all - carpentry (very precise and well done), plumbing, electrical, drywall, and painting. He came out, went through the list with us and then came out within two weeks to tackle the first half the list. At that point, he thought he was booked till the beginning of the year, but assured us he'd find time to come out and get our new dishwasher installed before Christmas (was not yet delivered). He delivered on his promise -- and then some. He brought his helper, Dave and the two of them tackled nearly every other item on the list, including a number of outdoor tasks that we thought would have to wait until spring - all in one day. Dan and Dave really know their stuff. No task seemed beyond their ability or willingness to tackle -- including old bathroom fans that were installed when the house was built and were not going to come out without a fight. Everything was done so precisely - and neatly. They clean up after each project and even hauled away all of our old appliances and lights. Obviously, we would highly recommend Dan for nearly any task at hand. We are already starting a new list for the spring!

Dan came promptly to do an estimate and showed up on time. It has been easy to communicate with him over email, less so by phone. The work has been done fast and they have even installed door locks that were not included in the initial estimate. The quality was good overall, but there were a few omissions and blemishes (they left a small but noticeable unfinished area of the wall under the microwave and installation of one of the doors has not been completed). We contacted Dan multiple times during the last two months, he kept promising to come but has never found time to do that. Furthermore, Dan is not flexible. We initially weren't sure as to where to end the tile. Once it was done we decided that one covered area should be slightly extended. Although the initial estimate was for a larger area (just before he started the work we asked him to do a smaller area) and we didn't question the extra hourly fee, he never promised to do it within a reasonable time. Lastly, we never received a receipt about the job performed and the payment (we paid him immediately on their last day). Our overall impression is that Dan can work well but customer satisfaction is not his priority.

It went well, Dan was professional and punctual and upfront and honest with me. I appreciated him taking the time to inspect the project I had going on. I don't know his workmanship as we didn't work together, but overall he was very easy to work with. I would certainly consider him for future projects.

Dan did a great job in repairing our front door frame. There were areas where the wood on the door frame was rotting. He repaired it and put a fresh coat of paint over the area that was repaired. In addition, Dan went above an beyond my original request, and painted the whole front door. Now the entrance way looks fresh and new. I'm very satisfied with his work. He also gave me advice on how to maintain that area to slow down the deterioration of the door frame in the future.

Dan is very responsive to emails, punctual, professional and friendly. He provided us with a no cost estimate earlier than he had promised. On the days he was to start the jobs, he was on time. The bathroom work proved to be more difficult than anticipated, but in the end the fixtures and shower door were all installed properly. He also cleaned up from the work very well. The carpentry work on the staircase went very well and quickly. What I thought would be a 4 day job wound up being only 2 1/2 days. Again, he cleaned up nicely inside and out from working on the staircase. We are extremely pleased with the work and the price was very reasonable. We are looking at getting a couple more jobs done around the house come next spring and we will definitely contact Dan again for an estimate.

I email Dan - he answered within several hours. He came over two days later to look at the projects and gave me an estimate. We scheduled a date for the work. Dan showed up as promised, on time, with a great assistant. They were professional, efficient and did excellent work for a very reasonable price. Cleaned up at the end of each work day --- the smoothest home improvement project we've ever done.

Page of Happiness experience. Contacted Dan by email a few weeks ago and he responded in a timely manor. He came out to check out the work and give me a quote about a week later. He told me his availability would be in a week or so. True to his word Dan and his employee Dave came today around 9:00am today and completed all the above jobs (except screen door replacement and groove cleaning) by 5:00pm. An awesome experience. I have a large Californian style home with odd angles on roof. We reviewed the work to be done and the guys got to it right away, I don't think they even stopped for lunch. Dan comes with a big trailer full of all his tools and supplies. He and Dave measured the roof for the wood and Dan went to get it while Dave worked on stripping off the rotten cedar. Approachable, flexible guys. There was an issue with the window cranks and Dan worked on it until he got them set right and didn't seem to mind me putting my 2 cents in on the cranks. (Left him alone for everything else). Love these guys. Dan was honest about what he could and could not do and tried to save me money. I had been told I needed my roof vents replaced and he looked at them for me and told me they were fine. They still have to complete the screens install which I have not paid for yet. Dan says he will pick up the newly screened doors next week so the job should be completed in about 2 weeks. Worth his weight in gold.

He was very responsive. Easy to work with, considerate and clean. He took his work seriously and did an excellent job. We are so happy with our new 1/2 bath. He also completed the job when he said he was going to. He was great.

He was absolutely awesome. He was so good. He cleaned up. Everything he did was perfect. We were very, very pleased with what he did. The price was good. We would use him again in a minute.

I really liked him. He was very professional. He was able to come out the same day I called to give an estiamte on the work. The work took about a day to complete. The results are great.

Dan did an excellent job! It looks like the pantry was original to the home. He built it specific to our design with various sized shelves. It truly looks custom! Dan charged his daily rate and the cost of the materials. We have already had Dan do some crown molding for us since then and will have him do other carpentry work throughout the house.

Dan was very professional, responsive, and did great work. While he was doing the work he pointed out other areas of concern on our home. He took pride in his work, was neat and tidy, and pricing was fair. I will use him again in the future and would highly recommend him for work. Thanks Dan!

I wanted to know how much it would cost to finish my basement. I asked for a quote. He came on time, listened to me patiently and sent me a quote after a couple of days as promised. I did not use the services as I am not ready to make that investment at this time. My initial interaction overall has been satisfactory and is what I expected from a professional.

It went well. He was very professional and timely. He works a lot by email for proposals. He found a problem with the deck that we couldn't foresee. He happened to be going on vacation and said he would be gone about a week. The weather precluded another job and he called us right away and came to do our work. he went out of his way to get the job done. He had everything that he needed so he didn't have to run back and forth. He charged exactly what he said he would charge.

Dan returned our call in a timely manner. Furnished quote and performed the repair very quickly. We also asked him to quote on a ceramic tile floor and a few other projects. it is quite possible that he will earn our business again.

Dan came in with, by far, the lowest bid of three contractors. He was very easy to work with, delivered more work than was quoted, on budget, and on time. As a testament to his work, the house rented in less than 2 weeks on the market. Thank you!

Dan did an excellent job installing wainscoting and painting our stairway and hallway. He worked efficiently, completing the project in 2-3 days.
