Fantastic job.

Dan Johnson showed up promptly to give me an estimate for multiple repairs/improvements that I wanted for my newly purchased 92 y.o. Shaker home. His prices were very reasonable and he showed up to start the job like we had agreed on. His assistant Andy, as well as himself, showed up everyday promptly and put in a full days work until the job was completed. Dan sub-contracted the exterior painting which was completed in a professional and timely manner. I felt that he was honest with me from the beginning and not out to take advantage of me off like all the other contractors I had met with that gave me estimates. I've had a lot of work completed on my home in a short amount of time, and I developed the impression after meeting many contractors that because of my address, size of my home, and that I'm female, they thought I was stupid with a bottomless checking account. Dan completed the job in a timely fashion, for the price he quoted, and in a professional and quality manner.

He returned my call promptly and gave me a timely estimate. His price was reasonable compared to other handymen, and he came to do the work in a relatively short time. The quality of the work was good, and he made less of a production of some of the work than other providers wanted to.

Dan did an excellent job. Very professional, and a hard worker. I would definitely recommend his services to anyone looking.

I gave Johnson Home Improvement awareness thru a site visit as to our needs. Dan knew what to do and how to get it done without any stress on my or my family. He is very pleasant to work with on a wide variety of projects.

Overall it was very good. Dan came out a day or 2 after I first contacted him for an estimate. It was reasonable so I decided to go ahead with him. Dan was upfront on his price that was time and materials at cost. He was not able to come out to do the job for a week or so, but I was not in a huge hurry so that was fine. The only minor issue I had, was he said he would be out around 8:30-9:00 and he did not make it until 10. However, he did call ahead and tell me he was running late. It was not really an issue because I was home anyway. He brought an assistant with him as he had some ladder work to do and it was icy. 1. He very quickly fixed the garage trim and it looks fine. I will need to paint it when the weather warms up, but at least the carpentry is done. 2. His assistant was putting up the deicing cable at the same time. I needed them to change the configuration a bit to make sure it also deiced the gutter guards and they made that adjustment quickly. They got the plug end of the cable into the attic through the soffit very neatly. I am putting in the electrical for it myself. 3. They pulled the siding off around the door, but could not find any obvious leakage. They put on ice guard on the wall from the side of the door, all the way up above gutter level. They also re caulked the door including an area that they said did not seemed caulked properly. That was the best guess of where the water was coming from. Time will tell if that is the problem, but I have had problems with this door for about 10 years now and it is tough to find the "real" problem. 4. Leaves on the roof. Dan was not able to do this as we had snow on the roof and the leaves would be frozen anyway. I am sure he would have done it fine as it was an easy job, I just will no longer go up there as I fell off of the roof once and now I am a bit gun shy. Overall I was very happy with the work they did and the price was very reasonable. They were here for just over 2 hours and purchased the heating cable as well.

He did an excellent job. I would recommend him and plan to use him again.

His ability to communicate with us as consumers was great and we were very pleased with the work he did.

The workers at Johnson were excellent. They did a great job. They were on time and up front with their quote. They were very easy to work with and they did a nice, professional job. I thought that their prices were very reasonable. I would use them again in the future.

Dan came by to look at the work two days after my first call (I wasn't available the first day). He looked at my three issues and worked up a verbal estimate on the spot (the estimate was reasonable - he also e-mailed the estimate that evening). He had warned me that with water damage there could be additional work when he started removing wood (but I already knew that). I called Dan back two days later and asked him to schedule us. He set up the do the work the following Monday. As I had somewhat expected, the water damage around the windows was worse than the original estimate. I had to be out of town that day so I had a relative at the house standing by. Dan took pictures of the damage before he repaired it and e-mailed the pictures to me (I also saw the rotted wood that was removed). The extra repair work also meant that he didn't finish on Monday - but the repair was well buttoned up so weather wouldn't cause any damage. Dan returned on Wednesday to finish the repair and do the other two tasks (I got a ballpark number from him about the additional repair costs and was okay with that). I was home that day (which was fortunate since I had overlooked a couple of pieces when my wife and I purchased the sink). Dan finished the water damage repair and did the other two tasks by shortly after lunch. I paid Dan - the final bill was within the ballpark estimate that he gave me Wednesday morning (and I feel that the price was fair with no surprises). I do some of my own projects (replaced a dishwasher this weekend which held me up on doing this report) - but my wife and I are already considering a couple of other projects. Dan will be the first person we call for an estimate.

Excellent experience. He was able to help repair a number of problem areas requiring a variety of skills and experience.

Prompt with estimate. Had to reschedule once due to emergent rainwater problems at another site. Very apologetic and it really did not inconvenience me.

Outstanding. He called me right back (still waiting for a call from one place). Came within 24 hours to give me a face to face estimate and started the job the following Monday. The job was done in 2 days. It looks fantastic. I will hire him again to install the man door as soon as I get more money.

I called Dan on Thursday and he came to the house to give me an estimate on Friday. Monday morning Dan arrived at 8:00AM and started to work. I left the house to get the necessary paint and felt comfortable leaving him in the house to do his work. Dan was finished with all of the work by 5:00PM. When my husband got home from work he could not believe that Dan was able to do in one day what would have taken us several to accomplish. Dan did a terrific job and the room looks fantastic!

Dan worked quickly and efficiently. He also seemed very honest in his assessment of my situation; he easily could have overstated the nature of my problem, but told me very early on that it was a minor issue.

Dan promptly came to give me an estimate. His work was precise and we are very pleased with the new door. The job site was cleaned up. Dan is professional and courteous. I plan on more repairs in the spring.

Excellent work, very reasonably priced, it was only $178 including parts, parts were over a $100.

Very well. He was honest about his availability (he had another job starting the following week that would have prevented him doing work) and ability to do the job. He answered the phone promptly, was courteous throughout, and the column looks great! It's primed and ready for the painters.

Dan was very cordial and polite. He did all the jobs in a timely fashion and was very neat and thorough. I would call him again with any handyman or carpentry job that needed to be done.

Dan was very prompt in coming over to our house to give us an estimate on the work we needed to be done. He always kept us updated on the time frame of his work, and listened to our needs and offered suggestion to us which we appreciated. What seemed as an overwhelming amount of work seemed effortless to Dan. He was extremely professional and polite every time we saw him. We feel confident in recommending Dan to anyone. The quality of his work is outstanding.

HE IS VERY, VERY GOOD. HE IS TRUSTWORTHY. I FELT COMFORTABLE LEAVING HIM ALONE IN MY HOME. HE IS POLITE AND I WOULD USE HIM AGAIN.
