They were fine. Probably, it was not really worthwhile for me because I do not think I needed them. The job I thought I needed them for turned out to be very simple. They were here for only like ten minutes. The company was fine. I have no complaints about them. I only paid for the $69 Big Deal. I probably would use them again in the future.

The whole experience went really well. First we requested a quote in mid-December from Wheeler. They responded quickly and set up a time. The quote walkthrough was fairly straightforward and Steven was very knowledgable. I had a quote within 10 minutes of the walkthrough concluding. The install went even better. Steven and Jason worked diligently and accomplished all the work professionally. We were really lucky to get such great electricians to help us with our projects. After completion they walked me though everything that was done and demonstrated the light fixtures. If you're looking for an electrician, go to Wheeler electric. Specifically Steven and Jason. They do professional work on time and on cost.

Purchased a special offer for Wheeler Electric through Angie's List. Joe Wheeler made contact and service was scheduled for my preferred date. Joe came out promptly on the scheduled date and determined there were 2 problems - a faulty light sensor and a pair of non-functioning bulb sockets. He was able to replace the light sensor on site but we agreed that rewiring the sockets was best performed back at his shop. A follow-up date was supposedly established and he left with the lamp head. After some initial confusion regarding the follow-up date, Joe finally returned to reinstall the rewired lamp head and the lamp was again working. All work on the lamp was performed to my expectation and complete satisfaction. Thank you, Joe!

Provider arrived on time, performed what I had originally asked for him to do, found two broken electrical boxes and replaced them and found an electrical short caused by a wire being rubbed on an under counter light fixture and repaired the wiring to eliminate the short. He did not waste time, performed in a professional manner to accomplish all that needed to be done. Tested all outlets and switches to make sure they operated correctly before he left. Cheerfully stayed to complete the jobs even though the originally scheduled effort was for only one hour. I was extremely satisfied with the performance of Wheeler Electric and will use them again in the future.

The electrician arrived on time and was professional and cleaned up behind his work!!! I was charged extra for two reasons: first, I asked specifically for LED lights instead of incandescent bulb lights ($20 per light which I felt was a little much but I paid it) and second, the light switch I wanted it run to was located on the outside wall which was under the smallest area of the pitch of the roof. The electrician had to cut a hole in my sheet rock near the ceiling (he put a flat face plate over it until I can get the room painted) in order to fish the wiring through the wall and attic. If I had allowed him to place it on the interior wall, there would have been no extra charge--but then I would have had one switch on one wall for the outlet and another switch on the opposite wall for the lights. It would not have looked correct and would have been awkward to use. He covered the area in plastic to prevent dust and debris from going everywhere. He was very communicative in asking what I prefer and then inspecting and apprising me of what he could do. As you have to work around rafters and studs, the outcome is within inches of what I wanted but look completely fine and I am totally happy. I went from a living room that the switch only worked the top half of an outlet to having a dimmer switch that controls four recessed, daylight bright LED 6" lights. He wired my outlet to work all the time, so that was a nice bonus. My room is now light and bright where it was dark. This was a great bargain and I wish I had purchased a couple of them as I have several more rooms that were built with no ceiling lighting and only a switch controlling half of an outlet.

Attempted to contact Wheeler Electric twice (November 20 and 25, 2014). Never received a return call. They did some work at my home in 2011 and I was very happy with it. I do not know if something has changed at Wheeler, but I was very disappointed by the lack of response. The VoiceMail/anwering machine indicated I had called the right number. So, I guess they are still in business, but.............

Wheeler Electric did no come prepared for the job. 1. With no electrical socket in his truck, electrician went to hardware to get one. The extra time spent at the hardware put him over 1 hour by 22 minutes. Thus, I had to pay for this extra hour of "work." I had paid $69 through Angie's list for the house call and first hour. This would have been adequate for what was done, if Wheeler Electric came prepared for the job with an electrical socket in the truck. I believe that home electricians should come prepared with an electrical socket in the truck. 2. My second story flood lights did not work. Wheeler Electric did not have an extension ladder t replace flood lights. Electrician asked me if I had a ladder. I single-handedly took my extension ladder out of the garage and set it up under a light which needed replacement. While the electrician was doing something else, the wind blew my ladder across the back face of my house, where it hit the edge of a new window, damaging it. None of this would have happened it Wheeler Electric came prepared with an extension ladder in he truck. I believe that home electricians should come prepared with an electrical socket in the truck.

They were initially called in to fix some wires in the attic that had been spliced together without a junction box, fix an outside GFCI, and install a new GFCI in the bathroom. While doing the junction box in the attic they discovered knob and tube wiring under the blown-in insulation, which is a big fire hazard. They were able to come back after a day and replace the wiring in the attic, which took a day and a half-ish to do, and also put in an AFCI to prevent anything from causing a fire. They charged $1200 for that portion of the job. They also put in a new junction box where the wires didn't have one ($80 + the prepaid hour of work thru angies list), put in a GFCI in the bathroom ($42), replaced outdoors GFCI ($40), installed a lampcord cap ($15), and ran a separate circuit to the fridge ($150). Overall, I think they did a pretty good job under some difficult conditions (my attic is very hard to get into). I also appreciated that they were willing to come in on a Sunday to finish up a few last things that hadn't been completed during the week.

Wheeler electric responded as quickly as could have possibly been expected. I bought the Wheeler deal of $69.00 for troubleshooting and an hour of technician service. I made the online purchase in mid-morning, after which to my surprise within several minutes I had an email from Wheeler electric asking for more details on my situation. When I input my discrepancy of how a GFCI along my garage wall would not reset and was having an effect on other electrical outages within my home they offered to come out that very same day. Their technician "Jason" arrived promptly at time they said he would, he assessed the situation I had an immediately started his troubleshooting breaking it down into sections where he was checking power, after he was done he identified a fault in my outdoor lamp post light. I was impressed with his technical knowledge and how he went right to work once I explained all the outages I was experiencing. I did not have a lamp post light on had for him to replace the bad light with but he removed the bad one and explained to me the installation process and I was able to replace it myself later that evening after I got to store to make a purchase of new one. Since I had time remaining on the time allowed for the Angie's list deal Jason installed an outdoor light timer for me that I had on hand so my front outdoor lights work on an indoor timer now, which is very convenient for myself. When I showed Jason around the house and all that was being effected by the GFCI not resetting he pointed out to me an area in our unfinished basement that should not be wired into that particular electrical load. He gave me a price quote to install new electrical outlet and line for me of which was same as deal price per hour plus materials. I agreed and he completed running new electrical line and outlet for me. Three weeks now and no issues from the work performed. Jason was very professional and showed his expertise in his knowledge and abilities. Very good representation of Wheeler Electric company. Highly recommend them to anyone needing electrical work done.

Thanks, for the feed back. You purchased a 69.00 first hour labor/trip for residential use only in your name not your business. Sorry to say a car wash / detail shop is not residential. You were also going to send pictures ahead which you didn't. Had we had seen this was a business we would have discussed this with you before hand. We went to your place intending to perform work. We do provide free quotes. I will discuss that with the electrician about saying being charged for a quote. I can only hope the work was completed to code. I would suggest when purchasing a big deal or similar item to read everything, and if anyone still has questions please give me a call at 937-231-9090. Thanks Joe Wheeler

Thanks for the feedback. Always keep this in mind when resetting a breaker. 1. Push the breaker into the off position first then back on. 2. If the breaker trips immediately, call an electrician. Could be something hazardous .3. If you reset the breaker and later it trips again, it could be too many things on circuit. This time of year its a space heater being plugged into the circuit, which I recommend being put on its own circuit and never left unattended. The other possibility is something failing in the circuit or appliance be plugged into outlets/lights. I'm putting FAQs up on our website @www.joewheelerelectric.com should be completed by 11/21/14 Thanks, Joe Wheeler

First, let me say the man they sent was a genuinely nice guy. The main problem is instead of getting the three things I had hoped to accomplish with his visit, over two hours were spent on completing just one. I had an outlet that worked but was the old two prong type (not grounded). I wanted it replaced with a three prong (grounded) outlet. He spent an inordinate amount of time trying to figure out how to do that. His boss eventually came and helped him finish the job. Long story short, after more than two hours I paid $144 for them to run about three feet of wire. This didn't seem like neither a very productive use of the time or a good value. He did briefly troubleshoot another outlet that wasn't working, but did not know what the problem was. I had no interest at this point in keeping the meter running and that's how it ended. While they did clean up upstairs, they didn't bother cleaning up in the basement where my 7 year old son plays. I am talking about pieces of wire he cut and other debris he left behind. Overall, this active duty service member is feeling disappointed a bit ripped off. Happy Veterans Day Captain Kevin Mauersberg United States Air Force

I understand your frustration. Grounding an outlet sounds like a simple task. But that is not always the case. To ground a receptacle properly, requires the receptacle to be rewired back to the panel or in your case to a junction with same circuit which another electrician attempted to rewire the receptacle but stopped short to only rewire in the basement only. So the challenge for us was getting the wire from the junction box in the basement to a 1/2 inch hole in the outlet box on the first floor without disturbing your plaster walls. The electrician called me on the phone and told me what was going on. So I came out to help him and pulled the wire up quickly. As I mentioned when I called you and left you a voice mail, I did not charge for my time or his last hour. As for the mess in the basement I sincerely apologize. I had the shop vac and did not go to the basement. But as for anyone having your receptacles grounded, make sure to have them rewired on the same circuit/wire all the way back to the panel or grounding is not effective. Thank you for your service to our country, Joe Wheeler

Joe seems to be a very knowledgable person. He seems very trustworthy, wasn't pushing to up-sell work that didn't need to be done, and gave me lots of suggestions and options on problems I was going to run into with my existing wiring. He was very willing to answer questions and took the time to explain things to me. This call was just to get an estimate on work done, so I haven't had any actual work performed. He did provide his estimate + opinions for free.

It was such a pleasure to do business with Wheeler Electric. They are very professional. They came in and looked into the reason for my not having light in my foyer, and it turned out it was my fixtures. He tightened a few bulbs and the light was on, though they still flicker, but that will be fixed when I purchase new fixtures. Some of my outlets were hanging and he fixed each one. He looked into all my concerns, and I was very pleased. I do plan on installing a couple of ceiling fans and new fixtures next year, and I will be calling them again. They emailed me a quote the same day for the future work. I will be calling Wheeler Electric for that job as well.
Description of Work: Turned out it was my fixtures that were the problem and not the electrical system. Since I had paid for the hour, he kindly agreed to look at some other issues and fixed them. These were minor things, but nonetheless, I appreciated him looking into them for me.
