Aaron took time to hear our ideas for bringing the plans to life. Able to adjust to issues that arose when working on an older home. Showed skill and artistry in coming up with a beautiful corbel. House is beautiful now!

They were prompt with setting an appointment to come and hear my plans for renovating my sun porch. He was very knowledgeable and explained what my options were in detail. Their formal estimate was very thorough and done quite professionally. My budget didn't allow for it at the time,but I will not hesitate to contact them when I am ready.

NJW is always responsive, prompt, and professional. Their sub-contractors are always polite and clean up after themselves. I can always count on their work and they will stand behind it.

This is the second remodeling project we have contracted with Joel Walter. He is very professional and personally conducted the estimates for both jobs. (The first one was a year earlier.) He listened to my needs and desired outcome, carefully reviewed all of the proposed changes and costs, and provided a detailed estimate. His foreman, Aaron, was spectacular. His attention to detail was superb and he was very professional. Communication with everyone in the company was great. Many updates were provided routinely. The job was finished on time without additional costs. The team did a fabulous job all around, even down to the finest details! I highly recommend Joel and his team

The crews that came were on time, clean, listened to our requests, came up with innovative solutions. The drywall-er, carpenter, painter were especially good.

NJW was on the clock as we anticipated our first newborn baby. Joel promised he would try to finish before the baby arrived and he delivered on that promise, while also creating a quality project.

Work was done at my husband's supervision while I was at work. Each day's work was done before I got home. They cleaned up after themselves each day. Very happy with work done.

1. Time. Once all the materials were in, the time from start to finish was delayed as a result of weather conditions and a couple of minor issues. This was to be expected (and should be with any contractor). Joel did an excellent job of working around the obstacles and coordinating the sub contractors. 2. Did we get what we wanted? Yes. New windows that function nicely and save energy. New siding, exterior and interior trim, porch post installed. Stucco repaired (looks new again and matched to existing work). Brick veneer was repaired very nicely (that in itself was a challenge for NJW). New gutters and down spouts match and function well. Exterior painting was really good (consistent texture, no runs). New garage door and hardware work great. 3. Was this what I expected from NJW? Yes. 4. Was the costs as expected? Yes. Stayed with-in estimate.

NJW was great! The project had plenty of ups and downs but NJW dealt with every issue before I even knew there was an issue. I highly recommend NJW and I am very particular.

It's not easy putting a new anything in an old house. Our remodel included structural issues, water issues, uneven floor, a footprint that could not be expanded, and we had to live there during the remodel. We chose NJW because it's a design/build company, eliminating any potential miscommunication between architect and builder. After trying seven completely different floor plans, we arrived at one that works with the existing space. With little exterior impact, we had smooth sailing through Planning & Zoning. We expected issues and questions to arise along the way, and everyone was creative and flexible in helping us solve them. The only delay was not their doing, but a backlog of work at the countertop fabricators. Even with that, we stayed on schedule and finished in two months as expected. Not only is Joel easy to work with, but so is his foreman, his crew and every subcontractor and service he outsourced to. A big shout-out to the cabinet maker, floor installer and tile installer for working with some seriously quirky issues! All the planning up front paid off in a kitchen that's beautiful AND functional. We're looking forward to their next project for us this summer on the facade.

Kenny was day to day on site, worked well with his support team. Amish crew was amazing for framing, new board and bottom exterior.

Very responsive during quoting process, throughout project and afterward. I was very impressed with the quote package they put together. Lots of detail and price breakdowns. It was easy to select or delete options and know instantly how that would affect the total price. No unplanned extras. Performed exactly as agreed. Took care of any issues promptly, even when I thought I might have a roof leak several years later. Has a good understanding of the right way to do things. No short cuts; no hassles. I wouldn't hesitate to use them if and when I built a house. No question of quality materials or workmen. No surprises.

The entire process from estimate to final inspection – was clearly communicated. The team was professional and respected my home. The foreman was great too!

Great experience with NJW from start to finish. Owner Joel is very respectful, punctual and a good listener. He also provided computerized drawings of the project which were very helpful in visualizing. Project supervisor Dakota is one of the nicest guys I have met. Always kept us in loop with what was going on. Really appreciated him helping us with extras without charging anything - like hang TV in the new sunroom; moving the treadmill. Crews worked in below freezing temperatures to complete work ahead of schedule. Sunroom came out great - quality in terms of material, workmanship, and appearance. After-project cleanup was done fine, but expected new sunroom's floor and windows to be cleaner; they could have a cleaning person come in for couple hours after everything is wrapped up; that can add icing to an already great cake :-)

Very well. Joel assessed the situation and quoted a price. Work was done very well as agreed and in a timely fashion. Everything cleaned up after work.

We used them for a significant project and it was like a six-figure job. They did an outstanding job. They were honest. They did quality work and they were timely. Their price was very fair. Normally when you have a big construction project, no matter what they tell it is going to be late but that was not the case with them. They told us it was a four month project with the last would be picky picky's and they were 100% right. It was done in three months and the last month was picky picky's. That was very unusual, I mean we have had projects done in the past where the company would say Memorial Day and you were lucky to have it done by Christmas. They were a great experience. For our business in Columbus, we have decided to use them on a major project.

Joel was extremely profession and very patient. Took the time to review the remodeling and make excellent suggests even though it was out of our budget. Appreciated the time he dedicated.

We were extremely impressed with Mr. Joel Walter; his knowledge, professionalism, his willingness to explain the "whys" of a project without talking down to us. His professional association memberships are very impressive. While we did not use him on this project (outside factors that had nothing to do with him), we certainly will in the future. We wee so impressed, that we felt it necessary to post here for someone else looking for a contractor/remodeler.
