Basement Remedy

Fantastic experience with Todd and basement remedy. Incredibly responsive (he came out and took a look same day). Knew immediately what the issue was with out stone foundation, and offered solutions that we could get done asap and fit our budget. Very happy and HIGHLY RECOMMEND for stone foundation work. We'll he bringing them back for other basement and foundation issues in the future.

The owner, Todd, advised me that I did not need any work done at this time. He carefully inspected my basement walls, floors, and sump pump. He said if the situation changed, he could help us. His cost would be considerably less than other estimates we received. Todd is very personable, and experienced. Another company estimated $24K.

I highly recommend Basement Remedy. They were fast in coming out to evaluate our drainage and basement crack concerns. Todd was friendly and able to explain and help us make a decision on how to proceed. They were prompt with communication and to fit us in the schedule to run drain lines. Tyler and his team did excellent work completing the job. Will use again if other basement issues arise in the future.

Basement remedy did an incredible job managing our basement flooding problems and drainage repair needs. They diagnosed our problems and provided customized, long-term sustainable solutions for our Grandview home built in 1910. Todd and Tyler were very responsive and overall great communication. Not too many companies are a phone/call text away and will give you an honest and prompt answer. Worth every penny of service!

Basement Remedy is a great company. I had asked for referrals for a crack and crumbling brickwork on my garage from Angi and when "Basement Remedy" came up, I selected them for a quote by accident. But, Todd was one of the very few people who responded to my request and came out to give me an estimate. To my surprise, what I thought was a brick facing on my garage was something else entirely. Even though it is not something they usually work on, they came out and fixed the problem the next day. They were very professional and the repair looks great. They do much more than basements, so definitely give them a call.

Wonderful! So glad we were referred to Basement Remedy after speaking with many unqualified companies for a complicated repair. The owners are top notch, honest, reliable, and highly skilled. Would hire again for future projects and highly recommend to others.

Todd came out and explained everything to us and what needed to be done. He also mentioned items that were not needed on a quote we had already received. We appreciated his honesty and explanations on everything we were facing and that it was not as bad as we were led to believe. Thanks Todd!

Although I have not hired them for work (I need to have a very large tree removed before work can be down or the foundation issue will continue), Todd is super professional, very responsive and an honest guy. Todd helped me troubleshoot my issues over the phone and through pictures I sent him of the issue and even connected with an arborist to get a professional opinion on my behalf to fully assess the situation. Mind you he did this all within two hours of me contacting him and charged me nothing.

Todd & team was absolutely great. They were very knowledgeable about the age and building practices of our 1890's home. Todd is super friendly and honest. They were very reliable and finished the work in the agreed upon time frame. The company was also very understanding of the hard financial times we were in and was accommodating with timing of payment. Overall, we are very pleased with the work completed and will definitely hire Basement Remedy in the future.

They were one of the few firms that responded. They were excellent, professional, and did the work in a timely manner. I would recommend them for anyone needing masonry work or chimney repair. They were easy to work with.

My Florida Room floods every spring. Basement Remedy installed a french drain in our backyard last fall, and the Florida Room has stayed dry. We had over 2 inches of rain last week, and it still stayed dry! I highly recommend them.

After getting a couple of estimates from two rather "cheesy" local companies that advertise on TV & radio, I opted to look for other companies on Angie's List. One company, the Basement Remedy, had very good reviews from customers, and it didn't advertise on mass media. Todd and Tyler assessed the situation, identified issues the other companies overlooked, and provided me with several options. While not inexpensive, Tyler and his crew were extremely professional, keep their work area clean and neat, and finished the work slightly under the estimated amount. The realtor I hired to list the house was also impressed with the quality of the work. I was so happy with the work, I agreed to serve as a future reference, should prospective homeowners have questions or concerns. I'm thrilled that I found them here on this forum.

very professional. explained work required in terms I could understand. friendly, courteous. allayed fears that my house needed much extensive and expensive IMMEDIATE work. I can't afford to have any extensive work done today, but will use them to make intermediate repairs very soon.

Basement Remedy did an outstanding job with repair and masonry repointing on the stone foundation of our 130 year old German Village house. They were quick to respond, estimate and schedule the job. Work was done both outside and inside the house, and were done in a thorough manner necessary for historical restorations. Everyone we met was very professional, and the quality of the work was excellent.

Totally heartwarming to see there are still people in this world that care about the quality of their work, are personable, professional and do what they say they are going to do, when they say they are going to do it, and charge what they say they are going to charge. I cannot say enough good things about this company, and all workers associated with it that I met. Very courteous and obviously care about the work they do. Tyler, Todd, Dana and Jordan were great to work with during the complete construction operation All were friendly, personable, professional and very knowledgeable in structural assessment, repair and creative methods of effectively dealing with and solving unique situations. I was fascinated with the creative, coordinated team work. Tyler recurred and follow through with repairing portions of destroyed ground by heavy equipment. He and Todd reinforced the honesty I originally felt during our first conversation about job cost appraisal, estimate and question/answer session. Todd was absolutely wonderful to work with. He was very knowledgeable about old homes and it is clear that the company is very experienced in the work that they offer. We received an honest opinion on the state of our foundation and did not feel pressured in anyway to make a hasty decision. Todd went above and beyond by showing interest in our home and performed additional inspection of our chimney beyond what was scheduled. We have not hired yet for the work required however we do plan on hiring Basement Remedy for all of our foundation and masonry concerns.

The side of our chimney had shed some if its brick veneer and we were required to have it repaired. After attempting to locate a company to do the repair through my relator with no luck (one took forever to get back to me and then said he didn't do veneers, by the time that was established I had very little time to find someone else, and a few that I reached out to were too swamped to get it done prior to my close date), I found Basement Remedy on Angie's List and we got the ball rolling right away. From initial phone call to completion was 9 days! The Basement Remedy team is awesome. Marsha was extremely sweet on the phone, and though I called with a last-minute job and they were already fully booked, Todd agreed to do the repair and to meet my tight deadline. Their crew came on a Saturday and even took pictures to provide to the realtor, since this was work required by an inspector prior to our closing date. Todd was very responsive and considerate, making the entire process easy and stress free.

We have an historical brick home built approximately in the early 1800’s. On the south side of our home there is a chimney which services a dinning room fireplace as well as a large fireplace in the basement. This lower level has a walk out in the room where the large fireplace is located. Back in the day, this was the kitchen and the fireplace was where meals were cooked then sent up to the dining area on a dumb waiter with ropes and pulley’s. I contacted Basement Remedies because this fireplace was on the verge of collapse. If it were to collapse, there was a good chance it would bring down the whole southern wall of our home with it. The old bricks were missing in areas due to years of moisture, age, failing mortar and the softness of the bricks natural deterioration. Todd responded to my call and came to see the situation. He gave me his assessment of the severity of the situation and after much thought came up with a solution involving concrete blocks, rebar and cement. Then he went on to inquire if I would like to save the fireplace if possible. I personally didn’t believe it could be saved. He asked if his mason could check it out and I gave my approval. His mason came out and said he believed he could save it but it would be tedious and time consuming. We decided to try and save it. You will not find a more professional, talented, knowledgeable and most of all caring group of guys anywhere in their industry. Tyler, Todd, Jordon and Eli all did amazing work saved and restored the old fireplace, installed new drainage inside and out and replaced a dirt floor with new acid etched concrete done by G. DiFazio. Long story short we had a very dank, dirty and very dangerous situation that has been converted to an amazingly solid, safe and restored part of our home. Call these guys! They know what they’re doing, there veterans and they’re very knowledgeable, even though one of them was a Marine!

Excellent experience with Todd and Basement Remedy. Communication and follow up was outstanding. Showed up on time, quickly went about their work, cleaned up, and were meticulous with everything they did. Repairs are invisible and blend in exactly with the rest of the brick. This was not a cheap patch job, but a permanent repair of the problem. Highly recommend and will hire them again. Last year we moved into a 25 yr + house that had not been well maintained and repairs quickly stacked up. I have had more than enough experience with contractors this past year and a repair done well is worth its weight in gold. Basement Remedy came out within the week of our calling and evaluated several areas of significant cracking in our brick exterior. They determined it was not a foundation problem, but expansion and contraction around windows. Todd explained everything clearly and in terms I could understand. He described what they would do and why. He explained their methods and why they are superior. Crew came out, scrubbed the brick by hand to prevent further damage, and completed the repair quickly and professionally. Todd communicated constantly by phone and text: when they would be out and for how long and if they would need to delay due to weather. We were kept in the know the entire time. Very simply, you get what you pay for. You can go for the lowest quote, by my experience is then you will hire someone else to do it again and repair what was done incorrectly. Basement Remedy will cost more because they do it right the first time. Follow up is so essential in home repair and we have had multiple experiences with other contractors who just drop the ball. Basement Remedy is a well run, very professional company and we so appreciated it.

So happy we called Basement Remedy. We had a quote from one of the companies who are only able to sell you their whole system whether you need it or not for thousands of dollars ( had to negotiate them down to $14,000). We called Basement Remedy to get a second opinion. Todd was honest about what could be accomplished to correct a crack in the seam of our poured wall. A team of three spent most of a day at our home completing the work in the basement. They were polite, kept us informed as they progressed through the project and followed up afterward to make sure we were happy with the work.
