Arbaugh Tree Service

Together we've been trying to keep a tree in place for over 10 years! (My only deck shade) After a lightening strike, Garry, has propped it and shaped it-with success. He has also kept all of my other trees in good shape. Punctuality due to wet weather.

I called seeking an estimate, a few days later they came out and did so. I called back a few days later to agree and schedule service. Weeks went by, unresponsive to requests for an expected date of service. Finally got a higher quote from another company that promised service within a few days. I cancelled Arbaugh, no questions were asked as to my reason.

I called April 4 in order to get on the list early to remove a dying ash tree. They promptly came out and provided an estimate, which was reasonable. I called a week later to tell them they had the job. They said they would call back with a time for the service. Two weeks later I called back and they said I was still on their list but the weather had been too wet. I called again two weeks later and got the same response. My wife placed two calls again in May with the same response and they would be out, yet to date no service. If they can not or will not do the work they should have the professional courtesy to say so. Can not recommend this contractor.

It went very well. Their professionalism and clean up were excellent. I will definitely use them again in the future.

, Arbaugh's crew arrived at the time and date specified. After an in-depth discussion of what we wanted and in conjunction with Gary Arbaugh's expertise the crew began work. We had numerous (15 or more) trees to deal with and many had been untouched for 25+ years. Gary and his crew were professional, diligent and their attention to detail was amazing. They removed vines, dead limbs, unsafe branches, and took a tree down for us. They shaped the trees and the crew left the property only after they cleaned up all of the dead wood, and tree scraps. They also left the useable wood cut into smaller pieces for us to use as firewood. He was careful enough not to bring his trucks in the yard as it was wet and he was concerned about the ruts. I can not tell you or he and his crew how happy we are with the services provided and the expertise they showed. I have used the Arbaugh Tree Service in the past and each time I have nothing but great things to say about Gary Arbaugh and his crew. I can not imagine using anyone else for my trees.

My initial call for an estimate was returned promptly. I described the work over the phone but said I would like to be present when the estimate was done so I could discuss the details. Later that same day Arbaughs called to make an appointment and arrived promptly to meet with me. They were very helpful with the quote and offered to do the work for a fair price. I accepted the quote. They said the work would be done in a few weeks and agreed to contact me ahead of time so I could arrange to be at home that day. They did contact me prior to sending the crew. The crew of 4, headed by Garry Arbaugh who is a Certified Arborist, arrived early in the morning and worked steadily until early afternoon. They consulted with me several times as the work was being done. The best part was that as the work progressed I was able to make minor adjustments as we went. They were removing a lot of overgrowth and the picture I had in my mind of the final result changed a little bit. As the job was being completed I thanked Garry for his flexibility. He said my reaction to the work in progress was not unusual. His objective was to do a great job and insure that I was satisfied. The clean up was excellent as well. From beginning to end I was pleased with the service Arbaughs provided. This was my first experience with this company but not my first experience with a tree service. The pricing I received relative to service provided was competitive. I would certainly have Arbaughs work for us again.

ARBAUGH trimmed/removed some tree branches that had grown too close to the house and thinned some bushes so some sun could shine through. They did an excellent, professional job. All clippings were removed and the lawn was blown clean. Their prompt, friendly team was very much appreciated. We would definately use them again.

Mr. Arbaugh came by to give me an estimate and told me the electrical company would trim my trees at no charge due to the proximity to electrical wires. So he saved me $500!

I kept having to call every couple of weeks to see if they would come out and do the estimated work. I had another Arborist who said it had to be done right away. I went with Arbaugh company because they had a better price. When I called the last time the receptionist said that it would be another couple of weeks. The tree had already fallen another 4 inches and I informed her of this. She said that I should have the other company come out then if I wanted the work done so quickly. The actual work they do is good work, but they feel like they are in charge. It's just getting them out to do the work is the problem.

They trimmed the trees as requested and answered any questions that we had. After the large shrub and stump were removed, they dug a hole for a new shrub to be planted. They cleaned up all brush and raked the yard. They were very professional and I would use their services again.

They were excellent. They had 5 trucks outside for a couple of trees and were in and out in about an hour. I would give an A+ for all categories if I could.

They were the only company that I called that I was able to get to come to my home and give an estimate. They impressed me with the service. Mr. Arbaugh came out and he seemed to know what he was talking about.

We have a very old, large tree in our backyard. A branch split down the middle and was about to fall on the garage. We called the Arbaughs, they came out to give an estimate, and the next day five people and two trucks arrived to remove the branch. The arborists very carefully removed the branch in sections. They were amazing to watch. They completely cleaned up before they left. We plan on calling them to do our tree trimming in the near future.

Called provider on Tuesday, 6/04 to schedule an appointment for an estimate. Provider said they would be out within the next two days. Hung around the house to be sure I wouldn't miss their phone call, which never came. Called on Friday, 6/07 wanting to know if they were going to come out. Provider said they would be out between 3:00 and 5:00 that day (Friday). They never showed up or called to reschedule. On Saturday morning (6/08), around 11:00, I received telephone call from provider saying they were on the way out to my place. Provider showed up and prepared two estimates. One estimate for $1,265 for trim work and cut back on 4 maple trees (one of which had severe storm damage). Gave a separate $450 estimate to remove 15 shrubs across the front of the house, and grind the stumps. Both estimates included all clean up. I agreed to both estimates. When I asked when they could perform the work, they said in 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. Having not heard anything from the provider, I called on 6/24 to remind them that they told me 1 1/2 to 2 weeks, which had passed. I was told I was on the schedule for the next week, they would call to set the day and time. They never called. I was furious and called the provider on 7/02 to complain about the lack of follow up. The provider left our conversation with "I'll call you". I gave up. This provider has dragged this on for over a month and I still didn't have any firm commitment for a date and time to do the agreed upon work. I went to another provider who obviously wanted the work, and responded immediately.

Arbaugh's service was pretty good and we're generally satisfied. We received a quote from Arbaugh's and they then trimmed two trees. The trees look good and Arbaugh's people did a good job of cleaning up. The day they arrived, we had to leave for an emergency room visit but the service people took this in stride and completed the work without us at home. Unfortunately, the unexpected absence meant that we were not able to discuss the work with the service people. I called the office later to identify any issues they may have encountered or to learn about when we should have the trees trimmed again. Arbaugh's office staff member wasn't able to provide any notes except to indicate that a certified arborist was on site for the job -- which we knew from a quick discussion with the service people before leaving for hospital. A couple of suggestions for improvements: --There was quite a bit of ambiguity about scheduling; after leaving a message to request service based on the quote, we were left in doubt as to when the trimming would occur. We had to make a couple of calls to clarify; in the last phone discussion, the office person was only able to indicate that the trimmers would complete the job within the next two weeks. I let her know that scheduling was important since we have dogs that have access to the backyard and that I'd need to look elsewhere if the service couldn't be completed in the 2 week timeline she offered. It was completed and they did a good job. More concrete scheduling would be an improvement. --It would also be nice to have information about the service provided. The service people didn't leave any type of invoice, notes, suggestions, etc. (Of course, we may have received that verbally had we not had to go to hospital, but it seems reasonable for them to have left something in writing indicating what was done, whether the trees are healthy, suggestions for scheduling next trimming, etc.) Generally, we're pleased with the service and the price; they certainly did a good job of cleaning up with only few stray branches left in the backyard. We'll probably use them again but will try to "nail down" scheduling first and definitely ask that they provide/leave service information.

They did not call back. So, I called a week later and talked to a real person. They set up an appointment to come see me but they never showed up and never called to re-schedule. Apparently, they don't want my business. I certainly have no desire to call them again.

I noticed an old crabapple tree next to the house had developed a large crack at the base which was opening and closing as the wind blew. I was afraid it would fall over at any time. I called Arbaughs based on Angie list reviews. Even though it was a Saturday afternoon he was able to come out to that day to give me an estimate. We had secured the truck with a large ratchet strap, which he assured me would hold. Set me up for the first Monday appointment. I was at work, and when I returned home the tree was gone, and you couldn't even tell it was there. Easy. My ratchet strap had even been neatly folded and placed on the porch. I will definitely call Arbaughs again for my tree needs.

They arrived exactly at the scheduled time, 8 a.m. It was raining so they waited until it stopped, 10 a.m. They laid plywood on the lawn to prevent damage as they were bringing the pieces of the tree to the front of the house. When they were done, all of the sawdust and wood that was created as they cut up the tree was completely cleaned up. They ground the stump and even cleaned up 2/3 of the leaves in the back yard. It was amazing how clean everything was when they were done! I was very impressed by their efficiency and professionalism. I would definitely use them again!

Hard to contact and therefore hard to coordinate service.

The estimator came to our home without calling first (I have a dog). Estimator also had dogs in the car. My dog was outside and smelled the dogs and put a paw on the car door and estimator claimed my dog scratched his car door. So I am out $345 on a car door repair and cannot afford to get my tree removed. I do not feel bringing dogs to a potential worksite is professional at best and risky at worst.

We have several trees on our property. We used Angie's List to solicit estimates from numerous tree companies to perform some deadwooding, trimming, and thinning of 3 large trees. Arbaugh's estimate was one of the two lowest, and included all clean-up. We chose them and are glad we did. After a little difficulty in scheduling, due to end of year holidays and bad weather, they called back on a Friday night to ask if they could come Saturday morning at 8:00--as they would have a crew working to catch up since the weather was cooperating. They arrived exactly on time, and were very friendly, efficient and thorough. They did an excellent job cleaning up the yard and sweeping up the sidewalks and driveway. My son thoroughly enjoyed sitting in a chair, watching one of the workers up the tree with ropes and a chainsaw. He didn't seem to mind the audience. A very good experience, and we would hire them again.

I have used Arbaughs Tree Service & Landscaping for more than 20 years. They have always been professional, prompt and fairly priced. They are very familiar with Ohio laws regarding storm damage and they are willing to help coordinate both neighbor cleanup and insurance claims. I highly recommend this company.

Over all, the tree trimming was great, except for the raccoons still getting on my roof. And they returned when called, not immediately, but appeared here when I was not home to do that. If I had been home, I would have asked them to lower them even more. I was gone to a doctor appointment in preparation for the cataract surgery. I had too many other things going on to have to keep tabs on them. A company was here installing gutter guards and the men told me that some guys came and trimmed an evergreen at the corner of my house. Otherwise I would have never known (for a while) that they had come and lowered the evergreen next to my roof. If the gutter company had not been here, they would not have had access to my yard as I keep it locked. They should have called me prior to coming to trim that tree to make sure they could get into the yard. If I had been home, I would have asked them to lower it more than they did because afterward I believe that raccoons were still getting onto my roof. I then resorted to repellents to try to keep them away. The lack of Ash tree maintenance, being critical, is a big disappointment to me. And when they did not call me this year to do that job, I called another company to come to do it. I thought, until right now, that my trees HAD been treated last year.
