Arbaugh Tree Service

Called the Company to come out for an est on 8/22/12. The man that came out was very polite and gave me est. I called to schedule the work to be done. The lady that answers the phone was rude, not helpful and could careless about the business. She told me two weeks they would be out. Two weeks came and went. Called again and she was again rude and couldn't give me date and said two weeks. Now its Oct 29 th and still service or sign of them. Hope to get the done with another company that wants business.

Don't waste your time on this company. They are extremely unprofessional. They don't show up when they say the will. I hired them on 6/25/12 to trim a tree according to an estimate they gave me on 6/22/12. They indicated that they would be out in 2 - 3 weeks. 4 weeks later I called them (on 7/27/12) to find out when they would be coming out. I was told that they were running behind due to their need to respond to storm damage calls. They indicated that they would be out by 8/3/12. I called them on 8/3 and was told that they were still running behind. They woman on the phone indicated that they would call me on the 4th or 5th when the schedule was made out to let me know when (during the following week) they would be out. No one called me back. I called again on 8/15/12 to find out if they were planning to trim my tree. I was told that they could come the following week. The woman on the phone scheduled 2 possible days for the service to be performed (8/20 or 8/24). They did not come on 8/20 so I called them once first thing in the morning on 8/24 (the alternate schedule day) and again in the early afternoon. Both times I was told that I was on the schedule but they couldn't give me an exact time. The company did NOT show up and did NOT bother to call and let me know that they were NOT coming. Obviously this company is NOT professional and has wasted a great deal of my time. Don't waste your time hiring them. Not once during this 2 month period did they call me to say that they needed to reschedule. They just never showed up and never called back when they said they would. I'm completely disgusted.

Called and left message with company in May. We have a lot of tree work and wanted an estimate. I realize this is a busy time of year for this type of service, wasn't expecting an immediate response but, I never received a call back. I called 2 weeks later, was promised someone would call right back. Never received a call. Called again weeks later (i'm not sure why) and spoke to owner's wife. We were promised a call and actually, we did get a call back. Set up an appt. for a Sat. at 12:00. No one ever showed up and no phone call ever received with explanation. This was over a period of 5-6 weeks. 3 times a fool for me.

They came on time. They did a beautiful job and they trimmed it just like I wanted it. The clean up was A1.

Mr. Arbaugh came to look at our trees within 72 hours of our first call, then made a second visit four weeks later after allowing time for them to leaf out in order to better assess the situation. He recommended taking down 2 of the three ashes and treating the third, as well as dead-wooding that same ash. We asked him to also remove some lower unattractive limbs and creeping euonymous vine from our honey locust tree. They scheduled the work for a couple of days after this second visit, but a municipal gas-line project prevented access to our property for several days. Therefore, the actual work occurred a week after it was originally scheduled, but this was not the fault of the tree service. The crew arrived on schedule, worked all day long, and came back after the dinner hour to finish collecting the wood to haul away. We were very impressed with how neat and clean our yard was after they were finished; it was difficult to find even a twig or leaf left on the ground after the crew departed. Everyone we spoke with was polite, friendly, and willing to answer any questions we had. There were no surprises; everything went smoothly without much of any inconvenience to us. Mr. and Mrs. Arbaugh came back the next day to treat the ash for the ash borer and to collect payment, thanking us for our business. Mr. Arbaugh even asked us to let him know how the treated tree looked after 4--6 weeks had gone by. Obviously, they care about their work and want their customers to be happy. We have already recommended them to several of our neighbors and friends and would definitely use this company again for any future tree work.

The team came early and removed a very large pine tree in front of our house. They also ground the stump beneath the ground and cleared all debris from the tree. The job took about an hour. They were very personable and professional. We would call them again if we needed any more jobs done.

We love Arbaugh tree service! They provided a prompt quote (and were much more reasonable !) and completed the work in a timely manner. We thought we were going to have to take another tree out b/c we were concerned it was too close to the house, but Gary Jr. explained that due to the way the root system for that particular species grew, it was not a concern and just needed a good pruning. This alone demonstrates thier high level of ethics and pride in what they do. The clean up after the work was done was immaculate. Our next door neighbor asked if they could do some work on his yard since they were already out, and they were able to easily accommodate this. Our yard looks beautiful and we have already passed Arbaugh's information on to other neighbors. We plan to use them again to trim up the back yard later this spring.

They did as asked complete entire job in 1/2 day.

Outstanding on all counts - nothing but the highest compliments. Garry and his team were very profession and a pleasure to do work with. They worked quickly and cleaned up everything to the point it looked like they were never here. Garry is a licensed arborist and was helpful in pointing out a few things in our yard of which we were not aware and made some suggestions of things we could do - and not do. All of this for a price that was very fair and less than other bids. I can fully understand why his company has been an Angie's list Super Service Award winner for the past 9 years. From our perspective and the work he did for us, year 10 should be a slam dunk. Garry will be the first person we will call when we need more tree/landscape work.

I spent $1724 on their services. Their price was reasonable. I will absolutely use their services again in the future.

They were very good about giving an estimate within a day or two of when I called. We were surprised that their estimate was significantly lower than the other two estimates, but we got the impression that this was a small family business with lower overhead than a franchised operation. It took me a few weeks to get estimates and make a decision. When I called back about having them do the work, they didn't give me an exact date but said they'd call the day before to let me know when they were coming. The day of the tree removal ended up being less than a week from when I called to ask them to do the work. They don't take credit cards so they asked to stop by the next day to pick up a check for the work, as I wasn't home from work yet when they finished for the day. They sent a subcontractor about two days later to grind down the stumps, and I paid him directly as his cost wasn't included in the original estimate. Apparently their stump grinder can't fit through narrow gates into back yards, so they arrange with this subcontractor (Andy Randles) to grind stumps in back yards. It wasn't a real problem, just an extra bit of phone tag to arrange details. Everything looks good. We found a few branches they missed in the cleanup because they had fallen into landscaping, but we were able to put those out in our regular yard waste pickup. Overall we're happy with the work and would use them again.

It went very well. The only problem I had was that I called them in June and they said they would come out but I didn't hear from them again until early September, when they called and said they would be there the next day. They were very nice people and did a good job. The pricing was a little high, but they were very thorough. They stacked the firewood for me and cleaned up after themselves.

A wind storm broke several limbs in the top of one of our trees. Arbaughs quickly came out and provided an estimate to resolve our problem but it took a week before they were able to come out to the house to remove the limbs. Once they arrived they did an excellent job of quickly and safely trimming the broken area. While they were here they also removed several other bad branches in the tree. When they finished their job's cleanup you could not tell that they had been in the yard.

Came out to do estimate when they said they would. Was about a week after they provided an estimate that they arrived to do the work. Workers were courteous and they did a great job. Work site was very clean after they finished.

They have done business for us for many years. They have done big and small jobs for us. They do a good job and are reliable as well.

They were quick to call me back and had an estimate for me the same day. Their quote was the lowest of the 3 companies I called and they were able to schedule the work much sooner than anyone else. They arrived about 30 minutes late but they completed the work on time and for the quoted price. When they left the only evidence left behind was the circle of dirt under where the tree used to be. The yard was clean and they ground up the stump and smoothed out the dirt so it matched the grade of the rest of the yard. They did a great job and I would use them again for sure.

I was very disappointed with Arbaugh. Their quote process was very professional and they delivered a competitive quote. Having them come to do the work, however, was a completely separate matter. I realize we had a very wet spring and they became backed up, but after two months of calling and following up to have them perform the work, I realized that I should look for another service. I placed several calls asking for a date when they would come to do the work, and each time I was told "you're on the list, we'll contact you shortly." Long story short, I was never contacted. Unless you're incredibly patient, or have no rush, I would recommend looking elsewhere. UPDATE: In late-September, I received a call asking if I'd still like to have them do the work. Apparently, Mrs. Arbaugh (the woman I spoke with every time in March-April) forgot that I had called repeatedly. After expressing my amazement and disbelief that they had the audacity to call back after six months of stringing me along, she hung up on me.

I called this company for an estimate to have several trees removed and several trimmed. Someone came out immediately and gave me a great estimate. He said it was a very busy season and they would call when they could fit it into the schedule. I never received a phone call. When I called months later, they came back out and told me that the foliage had grown in that time and that they would not perform the work without increasing the estimate. When I asked how much extra it would be, the older gentleman told me he'd go back to the office and figure it out and get back to me. He never called. When I finally reached someone in their office, I told his son what had happened and he agreed to come out and do the work. No one ever showed up and I have not ever heard back from them. I eventually hired another company.

They came out in a timely manner to provide an estimate and later performed the work to my satisfaction.

A storm deposited a large limb from a neighbor's tree on back roof of our house, still attached to the tree. We called the morning after the storm and Arbaugh's was in the area working on other such situations. They came promptly and gave us an estimate that was lower than 2 other tree services which had been out earlier. We called them back to do the work, and they arrived within a couple of hours. Owner?/ Foreman brought quite a few workers who removed the llimb safely, took away the debris, blew the debris off the roof and gave us a preliminary report on roof damage. They also cleaned up our front yard and blew debris away. Everyone was efficient, courteous and we felt the price was very reasonable.

Arbaugh's did a very good job pruning the trees. They thinned and shaped them to look good in the landscape beds again. They also did a very good job cleaning up. We were very pleased with their work.

Excellent. No collateral damage. Cleaned area. Very well done. Would like to have known in advance of the date/time of removal (a phone call confirmation would have been nice), but everything went well.

If Arbaugh is not willing to serve Delaware County, then it's company info page should so state. It currently states that it services all portions of Delaware County -- apparently not. Furthermore, I should have been advised that Arbaugh would not be willing to service my area at the time I called or, at the very least, the next day. Instead, I had to follow-up after a no-show.
