I didn't have a great experience with him. I went with him because he had pretty low bid. The quality was such a problem. They came and give me an estimate and outline the design and that is all well and good. They basically did the work over few days passed on because there was quite a bit of work to do. It ended up costing me more than $4000. I can't give you an exact price. The job was actually done and he had extremely low amount of involvement and he wasn't really much involved at all. It was done by I think his son and one of his co-workers basically a couple of extremely young guys. I don't know if they were out of high school yet or not but definitely there were shortcuts done. For instance for the post, they didn't pour concrete, they just put down a couple of bricks at the bottom of the whole. There was hardly a right angle to be found on the steps. The steps are of varying height and when you are going up the hilt so you might go up the step that so it is kind of a trip hazard to tell you the truth, some of the steps may be only 60% as high as the other one, which was inconsistent, is you are not paying attention you could really trip. Up on the deck where the spindles for the rail are done some of them the nails were not long enough so some of the spindles actually just topped off with the wood work and it came right off. I would not use them again.

It went great the front porch totally makes the house. was very good construction very study and reliable,3eMy daughter is six and she loves it because they used 3eTreks decking which is expensive but worth every penny. and his employees were very professional and 3eFriendly which I loved because I was home with my Daughter and felt very safe.

Tim did not really talk to us too much about what we basically wanted. I mean, it was not bad but it was not great either. My front porch actually looks like a deck and it was supposed to look like a front porch. He did not talk to us about what type of spindles or anything we wanted. He did exactly what he wanted. The job took way too long. We were told that it was only going to take a couple of days and it took about almost two weeks. He got into an argument with one of his employees in our front yard which I think was his son, but I am not 100% sure. Instead of the printing on some of the boards being underneath, they are on top. So now, we are going to have to basically sand them before we can fill them. We have got boards curling on the back deck because they have only put one nail in each where it should have been two, I guess. At first, they were okay but then as the job went on and it took longer and longer, I was not that impressed.

It started from day 1 when they showed up late. They stayed a maximum of 5 hours each day and said that the job would be done within 10 days. The job was started on May 10 and is still not finished. There was a lack of communication between him and his workers. They never knew what they were supposed to be doing each day when they got here and would wait until someone told them what to do. They smoked constantly and left cigarette butts everywhere. They also ruined the stairway carpeting. They had to turn our heat off for the job and I called him to ask him to turn the heat back on as it was going to be cold and he told me that he needed more money. I told him that we had already paid him and wasn't paying him anymore until the job was completed. He then started yelling and swearing at me telling me he wouldn't finish the job without more money and then hung up on me. The heat isn't going to get turned back on and now I will have to call our heating company and hire someone else to finish the job. Update 7/16/13: First and foremost the desired resolution is we are due financial compensation related to all repairs required and damages done to our property during the bathroom renovation process that will make our bathroom safe and adhere to good construction practices and also clean / replace the carpeting leading from the outside to the upstairs bathroom and attic, since they never used a protective barrier and it is stained from tracking in and out. I have repair invoices from a licensed 30 year plumber who had to come in and repair plumbing done by Tim's Home Improvement which includes among other things a broken toilet flange, loose plumbing repaired inside the shower wall, re-plumb under the sink, etc... we also had another contractor come in and assess the tile that was completely installed wrong and is already coming apart and cracking. The vanity needs to be fixed since the drawers to not close properly. The paint job is a disaster as it is already peeling off the walls because the under boarding was never primed. You can also see the fiberglass dry wall taping on the walls due to not being applied properly. All of the items mentioned above have proper photos and documentation. As far as comments made by Tim: he told us the project would be done in 10 days, we documented the hours of the first week and the entire crew only worked 23 hrs, the second week they did put a lot of hours in to make up for lost time and unfortunately the work showed it. The crew spent a lot of time smoking outside and we have photos of flower pots filled with cigarette butts. Tim is not owed any money because the job was never completed. It was Tim's decision to terminate the contract as he refused to return to make all reparations and complete the project. We will be forced to contact a heating company to turn our heat back on as Tim's Home Improvement left us without heat with two children under 4 years old and the outside temp was 40 deg.

Very happy with Tim's work. He was quiet and professional. Timely - that's improtant to me.

Tim's Home Improvement was pretty good.

Tim's bid was considerably lower than everyone else's, but with his excellent recommendations from Angie's list we decided to use him. He was professional, mostly on time (a few days it rained where he lives so they didn't work, but could have because it didn't rain here)...however that is hard to predict our summer storms, so it was understandable. The deck took much longer than anticipated...I think it took about 2 weeks verses the 3-4 day quote. This is why I am sure he didn't make any money on this job. His design is beautiful, we wanted privacy, a horizontal-patterned fence. He took our photo and ran with it...The privacy fence and surrounding fence looks beautiful, except one of the gates doesn't match up, a section of the deck flooring wasn't nailed down, and there is warped boards in the privacy fence. ***UPDATE: Repairs made in the spring.****. Another frustrating thing...when he bid the job he said his fence sections wouldn't be longer than 6 feet because the wood might warp. Well, they made two sections over 6 feet...one about 7 1/2 feet the other over 8 feet. Both of these have warped boards...when I told him that during the above phone call, he said if we took them down, he could have them replaced for us (A HUGE inconvenience.) Had the sections of fence been done as he stated, they wouldn't have warped....the rest of the deck looks fine.

Tim was supposed to just repair my back deck. My wife thought it would be better to enclose it and make a sun room. Tim was very helpful, and understanding anytime we changed our minds. We couldn't be happier. Relatives have visited, and they thought the work was great.

My wife and I felt immediately comfortable with Tim when he came to provide us an estimate. He was very knowledgeable, but he also took the time to carefully listen to our ideas. Together we discussed several options and then picked a customized design that made the most sense. For the actual construction, Tim and his crew were very polite and easy to work with. The construction itself was first class, and now we're looking forward to using a beautiful deck in the spring. We'll definitely be calling Tim when we have other projects like this. Nice job!

Tim is there at the start and gets his crew going. he is not there all the time which can be expected as he has other jobs to attend. His crews were there to work and accomplished the job in the timeframe agreed upon. Tim was paid 50% down and the rest on completion of the job. We are confident enough in Tim's work that he will be doing the renovation of our kitchen.

I interviewed about 7 contractors. We all know how fun that is ;-) I selected Tim and I am very glad I did. He is easy to work with, had good suggestions, and did a fine job. This is a second property for me and I was quite confident to leave the work with Tim while I was in another state. I look forward to working with Tim in the future. I recommend him highly.

I got Tim's name from Angie's list. He came out immediately to give us a quote but we did not call him back for a while because we got quotes from three other contractors also. Tim seemed to use the best materials and was $1,500 less than our second choice. Tim's crew showed up when expected (given a few days for bad weather). The crew worked diligently every day until it was done which took a little more than a week given a few rainy days. The construction appears to be very solid and of good quality and looks great. Tim was very professional and followed through on everything he promised. I would definitely recommend him.

Just the facts as they played out:1) 7/31/2012 - I called and asked Tim to come out to give me an estimate on decking and another project. We mutually agreed to meet at my property at 6 PM on Tuesday 8/7/2012.2) Tim called me at around noon on Tuesday 8/7/2012 citing "an emergency" and expressing his need to cancel our meeting that evening. I was understanding, and even thanked him for giving me enough notice so that I did not leave work early to meet him for the appointment. We then mutually agreed to reschedule the estimate for Tuesday 8/14/2012 at 6 PM.3) 8/14/2012 - I left work early to meet Tim at 6 PM. He did not show up, nor has he ever called to offer an explanation or apology.

Tim impressed me with his knowledge and confidence that his crew could do the job from the outset when he arrived to provide me an estimate for the work. He began the work on schedule and cleaned up the job site everyday as promised. I would definetly use him again.

Tim and his four man crew did a wonderful job rejuvenating our 18 year old wood deck. They worked together smoothly and quickly. Tim took a lot of time to explain to us what the job entailed and how the different cleaning and staining products worked, and offered many suggestions for the best choices for our old weathered deck. Several times during the job, Tim or one of his crew encouraged me to look over their work to make sure I was happy with the progress. They knew I was nervous about how the finished product would look and they were right there to answer my questions. As part of the job, Tim constructed a new set of steps for the deck, making them wider and more safe. It was as if he knew exactly what I wanted and needed. One of the crew also worked inside the house fixing a pantry door and a sliding closet door that dragged a little because of new flooring. He did a nice job and it really made me happy that it was finally fixed. Tim and his crew were professional, showed up on time, kept things clean, and were friendly and efficient. We will definitely remember them for any future projects.

All went well. He did the work when he said he would (weather permitting), he kept in touch so we would know when to expect things to be done, the deck is very sturdy and well-made.

WE CALLED TIM SPONSELLER BECAUSE OF THE POSITIVE REVIEWS HE HAD ALREADY RECEIVED ON THE LIST,INQUIRING IF HE COULD COME GIVE US A QUOTE ON A REPLACEMENT DECK.HE SHOWED UP TIMELY ,LISTENED TO WHAT WE WERE LOOKING FOR AND CAME UP WITH A DESIGN.THIS WAS IN FEBRUARY.IN LATE MARCH THE WEATHER LOOKED PROMISING, SO WE SET A TIME FRAME OF A WEEK TO GET IT DONE.TIM AND HIS CREW DID A WONDERFUL JOB COMING IN EXACTLY AS QUOTED AND MEETING (OR EXCEEDING) ALL OUR EXPECTATIONS...I DON'T THINK I NEED TO SAY MORE EXCEPT IF YOU WANT A QUALITY JOB AT A REASONABLE PRICE TIM IS YOUR MAN....THANKS TIM,JOHN AND THE REST SINCERELY THE DOUGLAS-FEE'S

I did not have a good experience with them. After they finished we had some problems and they would not come back to help us. I would like to tell others not to work with them because they don't seem to care about their quality of work. We were very displeased with everything.

They replaced the floor of my shower but he did not caulk it. I asked him to come in and fix it but he said he was building a house for his daughter. He was supposed to fix two cabinets and did a terrible job on one of them and didn't do the other. He did my deck and I think he did a good job on that. He didn't fill in a beam he was supposed to do. There were delays but I understand the weather. He did an okay job on the deck but the insides I was not happy with. He hasn't been back to fix the things that aren't right.

They did a great job. The quality of the material and workmanship both were great. Their price was very competitive. I will use them in the future.

They had to postpone work several times because of unexpected continuations on other sites, but finally set a definite time, showed up and did the work promptly in a professional and courteous manner. They exhibited a flexibility in adjusting for revisions.

I can recommend Tim to anyone who wants an excellent job of construction of any kind. I contacted him late in the season; and he assured me that he would work me in with the jobs he was finishing up, which he did. I work full time so I typically saw him and his crew upon returning home. Tim reviewed with me as the building went along, noting the support built into the deck floor since I have a hot tub, as well as other features of the deck. Tim's cost met the estimates exactly. This deck has changed the entire view of my home, both inside and outside. It is elegant, beautifully constructed, and very strong and reliable. I plan to have Tim return in the spring to wash and stain the deck to finish up. My older son, who is very skilled with building, remarked that it was the work of a "pro," and he is considering calling Tim in the spring for an estimate. Tim's experience in home building really shows up in his work. I recommend him without reservation.

We got backup and had to push the project out. It took a lot longer than expecting because we kept running into issues. The deck is beautiful and we couldn't be happier..

Tim's home improvement powerwashed, replaced boards and stained my fence. First the good news, I thought the price was fair and Tim seems very knowledgable and friendly. I requested that they use a particular brand of stain and they did. They also saved me from myself on my color choice. The color I had used on my old deck would have ended up a bright orange on my newer fence. They spent a good deal of time getting a great blend of colors to match my deck. I was very pleased with that. Now the bad news, all of the problems are centered around the quality of the work that his workers provided. They were young, inexperienced kids who seamed to have know (or little) experienced with replacing boards and staining. What should have been a 2 day job ended up being a 5 day job with me at 8:00 pm on a Friday evening pointing out all the edges of boards that had not been stained and taking a brush myself to get the job done. As it was they stained over the decorative hardware, heavily stained some of my landscaping and tracked up parts of my brick walkway. I had stain all over my garden hose and they cleaned their rollers and brushes on my lawn with my hose (the stain is oil base). Needless to say I have no lawn where they cleaned. As well, I have bought yet another can of stain to fill in all the other edges and boards that were missed. I was also disappointed with the fact that instead of replacing crossbars they did an odd looking "patch" job. Not what I thought I was buying.

The work went across the way I wanted it to. He finished the work a month ago. He stuck to the time line we agreed upon. I did not have any hassles with them. I had a lot of materials that I wanted to be used. I just had to pay him the labor. He did a nice job on that. I rate him high overall and I will use him again in the future.
