Based on my experience, I am unable to recommend this builder. Third worst experience of my life. Building our dream home became a nightmare. When considering to build a home, please do your research and ask for references. Local building associations are great resources.

Nothing but problems,excuses and shoddy workmanship. Dave showed up once a week to inspect and sometimes only if I called him. I had to redo many things such as foaming in large gaps and redoing insulation.We are still dealing with a water leak in basement that Dave refused to fix. Buyer beware. Don't be fooled by his promises.

Mr. Hayes of Crockett Homes, Inc. started to build my home in June of 2013. Because of unforeseen circumstances I moved into the unfinished home in February 2014. Once the loan was closed and he received his money he slowed down on completing out home. In July I had to hire and attorney to get the driveway put in. There was a leak in my roof that ruined my drywall in the home that Mr Hayes was suppose to fix. To date it has not been done nor will he return my calls. There is also drywall that had to be fixed and he never came back to paint those areas. There is a screen missing that I have requested with no avail. I have settling crack all over the home. Building a new home is suppose to be a wonderful experience and for my wife and I it has been a nightmare. I know he is not returning my calls and is waiting until February of 2015 to tell me to turn it into the warranty company. If I were the warranty company I would not warranty anymore of his jobs because he does not complete them and he uses a lot people that do not know what they are doing.

The builder took bank draws and did not complete the work per the contract. BIA of Ohio verified that the builder did not perform the work correctly nor did the finish the work paid for but could not force them to fulfill the contracted work. The left the home with out steps our of the house. Doors in closets were left off sitting. Cracks in drywall painted over. The second story wall was over 3" off set and was left. Studs in the wall 57 of them were installed with only one nail in the top and bottom (2 is code in each). Crockett took several thousands of dollars for work they did not complete. We could not use several local supplies for the building materials because they would not allow crocket to purchase from them for failure to pay per agreements in the past.
