Response from BUXTON ROOFING LLC
Thank you for taking the time to give us a review. We are always looking for ways to improve and be the best we can be. After not getting the best review from you we looked into our records to investigate what we could have done better for you. Our records show that you called our office on Monday, May 20th, 2013. You were contacted the same day and an appointment to review your roof options was set for Friday, May 24th, 2013, per your request. Our representative was on time for the appointment and actually had to wait in your living room as you finished up another meeting. Considering those facts I am not sure why we were given a "B" for responsiveness and punctuality. As far as price - many people believe that the materials alone affect the price of a roof, but there is much more that goes into it. For example: - We have a professional management team that helped us earn The Business of Excellence Award for customer service through the Canton Chamber of Commerce, which no other roofing contractor has ever won. Our management team also helped us earn the 2011 BBB Customer Service Award. We service anywhere from 100 - 130+ customers a year with complete new roof systems and 200+ customers a year with repairs and yet we carry an A+ rating with the BBB with zero complaints. - We also train our crews each year to stay up-to-date with changes in the industry and/or products. All of our workers, including managers are certified through the manufacturers we use. - We carry $4 million dollars of insurance coverage. Some contractors carry as little as $250K. - Believe it or not, some contractors simply just don't pay their bills. We always welcome anyone to check with our suppliers: ABC Supply, Willoughby Supply, or Modern Builders Supply and ask them about our payment history. A lot can be said about the character of a company based on what kind of response the suppliers give regarding payment history. Those are just a few factors which can influence the price of a roof. Some of the other factors are the scope of work and materials proposed. After driving by your house we concluded that the roof that was installed was not an "apples-to-apples" comparison to the roof that we proposed. Although the shingles were the same brand that we proposed, the vent that was installed was not installed "end to end". Many contractors do this to cut costs. We're not sure what else we would have found upon a closer inspection. We believe a roof is only as good as the entire system, not just the shingles used. All the components of the roofs we install are of good quality and meet manufacturers' requirements. We have found that although many contractors offer the same shingle as us, they often buy the cheapest drip edge, ice guard, vents, etc., which enables them to cut costs. However, we believe it compromises the roof system. Finally, we do know the going rates of new roofs in the industry and we do the best that we can to stay competitive in our pricing . We don't think we would be able to consistently do 100+ roofs a year if we weren't competitive with the contractors who are comparable to us. We do offer three different roof systems with three pricing options that generally accommodate our customer's budget. Our goal is to offer a competitively priced roof system without compromising quality or integrity while providing the best customer service in Northeast Ohio.
