Sheridan called in the morning and showed up on time. I explained to him what kind of trouble we were having and that we needed a dedicated circuit ran for the microwave oven. He got right to work and in short time he figured it out and had it fixed. He then got right to work on running the circuit for the microwave. Sheridan explained to me everything that he did and took the time to answer any questions that I had. Sheridan was very polite and professional. Without a doubt,I will call Sheridan again for any future electrical work.

Sheridan kept in touch with me as he planned the job, arrived right on time, had all the right tools and supplies, and got the job done when he promised despite a surprise in how the feeder cable was routed into the panel. Very professional and well-organized, and he made sure everything was clean when he finished. I would hire him again in an instant, great electrician and great guy!

Sheridan was very friendly when I called to ask about availability before purchasing the Angie's List deal. Despite a busy schedule, he made time to come out the same day I bought the deal. When he came to the house, he not only addressed the three problem areas I had called him about, but he also indicated some additional potential hazards he recommended we look into. He went one step further by replacing some recalled breakers in our electrical box that we didn't know about. Sheridan was very nice and very professional. He gave us some tips on lighting for our new house as well. I would definitely recommend him, and I will definitely call him in the future.

Sheridan does exceptional work! He solved the basement lighting problem neatly. The solution involved cutting a hole in the celing to install wiring, and the cover he placed on there looks like it has always been there.

Sheridan called to ask if he could come early, as his previous appointment finished early. He worked quickly and took time to explain what needed repaired, the right way to do things for future work and discussed newer technology the cost vs savings. I definitely will call Sheridan for future needs.

Mr. Smith came and explained his pay structure and then went to the basement to start diagnosing our problem. He eventually went outside and a little bit later explained that it was a South Central Power problem after all...one of our lines into the house was down and that he had already been in touch with a dispatcher at South Central to come out and look at the problem. He even tried to look at a fixture that we've had issues with in the past to see if he could see what was going on while he was here. After settling the bill, he left and the South Central worker was here shortly afterwards. Mr. Smith left us with some literature about surge protection, but was not pushy. We will definitely use him again.

My ceramic stove top/electric range had begun tripping my circuit breaker. I'm lucky the circuit breaker was working as it should. The circuit breaker had tripped on Thursday evening. This time, I couldn't turn it back on. I spoke with Sheridan Smith on Friday morning. He set an appointment to come out Saturday afternoon, even though he typically doesn't do service calls on weekends. He was thorough, took time to answer all of our questions, extremely knowledgeable, and a very likable guy. He showed me the spot back panel of my electric range, where the electricity had arced and burned a hole in the back panel and a small hole in the wall of the kitchen. He secured multiple connections within the range, reconnected the circuit, and everything was fine. I also spoke with him regarding a whole-house surge protector. I'll definitely contact him within the next couple of months to have it added to the electrical panel. Highly recommended.

During the first week of May we lost all 240 amp capabilities thru out our Cabin built in 1978. The very old electrical panel needed to be completely replaced. My insurance coverage did not cover problems considered "Pre-existing" in the old panel and that was there response! They would not cover the panel and it was my responsibility to replace it. A lot of electrical questions had to be answered and quickly. The electrical configuration of the Cabin had been maintained by the prior owner and there was lets say quite a bit of "dangerous creativity" in how the house, barn and hot tub had been wired. What were the new code requirements? Was I bound by any new requirements in Lancaster or AEP connections after all the electrical was 37 years old. I'm retired and living on a fixed income each month. And the cabin has terrible heat and humidity issues without air conditioning. Like most folks in my situation I sought out several word of mouth electricians to look at the panel hoping to get the best I could with the funds available. The first electrician tossed around a $3700 figure, then simply stating that it was more than he could handle, apologized and left. The second electrician said he would go back and work up an estimate and submit it that evening via email, It never came. Again it seemed to be the age of the panel. Three weeks had past since the outage and the weather was a real problem. I needed a Professional Electrician who was willing to answer my questions and had the customer centered business model that dealt as much with safety as it did in ensuring that we met all electrical requirements of 2015 as compared to when the panel was put in -- 1978. I contacted Sheridan Smith aka Fairfield's Mr. Electric on Angie's list after reviewing the Band of Neighbors review's for the Lancaster area. He came out on Sunday and reviewed the situation providing an estimate the same day, which included options and a very precise and clear explanation of each. He dealt with all the entities who would be involved in the complete replacement of the panel, ensuring that all electrical work was up to code. He dealt with the city of Lancaster, coordinated with AEP on shutoff and restoration of main power. He purchased all parts after approval of the various plan's options. He scheduled the implementation for June 10th. Showed up on time and went to work. He was very efficient, working the plan as he and I had discussed. By the end of the day, around 7:30 or so we had a completely new "life time" warranty 200 amp Panel and an explanation of what had caused the failure (besides the 0ld unit) no prior electrician had any idea why the insurer called it a prior existing condition that was not covered. Total cost $2600,00 Only estimate I got was for $3700.00. Sheridan really worked with me thru out the process, he was very accommodating and open, he listened intently to my concerns, he took the time to pass along information and knowledge that that is and will be very helpful to me in the future in understanding my Cabins "creative" electrical wiring schema. Now when friends ask me about "word of Mouth" Electrical folks, I will recommend this Electrical Professional to anyone who ask me if I know or have "The Guy" who knows anything about residential or commercial electrical issues. FairField's Mr. Electric (Sheridan Smith) should receive the 2015 Pro award!! Just add it to the prior 3 he has already earned.

Excellent work, very professional yet friendly. Took time to thoroughly explain sensor system. I will definitely use Sherman, Mr. Electric for all electrical jobs and will definitely tell everyone who needs electrical work done to use him.

Sheridan is AWESOME !! During our first meeting to discuss the project, I was very impressed with his listening skills and genuine interest to understand the project. He is very personable, pays great attention to detail and very professional. He is very methodical with his thought processes pertaining to his work. He is very precise with his ?hands on? skills. I often have told friends, I would trust Sheridan to do open heart surgery on me because he is very methodical in during his work. He would say he doesn?t have a great amount of patience. Not true, my project had stalled, and he was very patient and did not harass me about payments. He brought his knowledge, skills and abilities to the table for me on my project. He came up with fantastic electrical and outlet layout, I would have not thought of. I?m truly thankful. I?m extremely appreciative of the wonderful electrical and lighting job he has done for me. His skills/electrical layout exceeded my expectations. Going through the basement remodeling process, can be stressful. But dealing with Sheridan was a pleasure. Great communications (phone, email, texting), always on time, ready to work to the end of the project. You get want you pay for and with Sheridan, you get excellent quality service and professionism. Sheridan was absolutely fantastic. He took the time to walk us through everything that he found, explained in detail what our options were in terms of cost or use. He was easy to get ahold of, was always prompt and very professional. I highly recommend Sheridan and will always use him for future electrical work.

Because of the excellent work Mr. Smith did with our home I again contacted him to install electric into a newly built building on our property. He had to install all wiring, electric panel, outlets, overhead lights and run underground wiring from another building with an electric meter. Because of the unpredictable weather in November, Mr. Smith had to wait until the ground was dry enough to install the underground wiring. The best day for this was a Sunday and he had no problem coming that day. He had come out previously on a Saturday for emergency work on our home. I don?t know of very many dealers that are willing to work on weekends but Mr. Smith has always been available for us regardless of what day it is. Once again he did fantastic work. Should I ever need additional electrical work again he will always be the one I call. He is someone I can trust to do a great job at a fair price.

He installed the fans beautifully, took the extra time to replace some corroded wiring, programmed the remote controls and synched them.He worked very quietly and he thoroughly cleaned up as he worked. Mr Electric took a long time to answer questions we had about future things we wanted to have done involving electrical work. My husband knows a bit about electricity (enough not to work with it & to really respect electricity is how he puts it) and was very impressed by his vast knowledge and continuing education Mr Electric applies himself to. This professional is an advocate for requiring certifications for electricians to ensure recognition for a higher level of professionals in his field. This means as consumers, we would know whether our electricians met a higher level of competencies than others. It is a dangerous business for a consumer to have anything but the best but everyday people have work done by less than the best. Both the exact date & exact $ amount are just guesses because I don't have access to my records at the moment but do have access to my memories of a very professional company. We are not wealthy...not by a long shot. The expense must have been reasonable or we would not have had the company do it. I tend to get 3 estimates for everything and had this company come in. I am sure he was very prompt because I also will not wait more than 15 minutes past an appt time--not even for a doctor. I will absolutely use this company for all my future electrical needs and highly recommend him to others.

We had a breaker that kept tripping. Sheridan came out, explained his rate methodology (by the job), diagnosed the issue and replaced the breaker with a GCFI breaker since it was an outside outlet that was not properly installed. He was punctual, professional, and I would definitely use them again.

Great!! We thought our HVAC had a short in the wiring. But when he undid the wiring and rewired everything worked as it should. We also had an outlet outside that stopped working when we had a hinged door replaced with a sliding glass door. Long story short the contractor took some shortcuts and stopped our front outlet from working. Sheridan got our GFCI outlet working in the front and actually got the back outlet actually using a GFCI circuit. We are ecstatic, now we can run Christmas lights outside.

It went well - it always goes well when they come. They always do what we need to be done. They maybe a little more costly to use but it is well worth the money for the type of service that is provided.

Sheridan was very professional, punctual, and reasonably priced. I called him early in the morning, and he was able to complete the job before noon. I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing electrical work.

Sheridan was right on time and got right to work tracking the wiring problem. I felt that Sheridan went out of his way to not only to repair the problem but rewired the light so the problem was repaired correctly and not just a quick fix.

Sheridan arrived on time to give a free estimate for electrical work we needed. The estimate was fair and we said we wanted to schedule as soon as possible. Sheridan started immediately and completed the work that day. We had a number of outlets installed, including a 240 outlet for an electric kiln. We also had 2 new light fixtures installed. Sheridan was friendly, knowledgeable, and had great credentials. We wouldn't hesitate to call on him again for any future electrical issues.
