Mid Ohio Tree Service

Four men arrived on time, set up safety measures and began work. The removed one large tree in front and pruned another very large tree in our back yard. The worked continually, safely, efficiently and professionally. They were like a well-oiled machine. Every limb and branch came down safely within our yard. They didn't even touch my flower beds. The tree they pruned was done with consideration and skill. They removed all limbs and brush, raked and blew yard clean and we're finished within several hours. We live on a small lot with neighbors close on both sides. Of the four estimates I had, their's was very reasonable. I particular appreciate that they didn't recommend "topping" a tree. Five stars. Highly recommend.

Mid Ohio came out and gave me a very reasonable estimate. When I called to schedule though I left a message and didn't get a return call. I called a couple days later and she returned my call the next day. I was told that it would be an add-on job and it would be done within 2-3 weeks. Nothing ever happened. I called after a month and have left a total of three messages in the past 4 weeks. They have not returned any of those calls.

On 6/11/20, I called and spoke with Melinda Arbaugh after a storm damaged our 85 feet tall, 135 year-old maple. The owner, Dwayne Arbaugh, came by that same day to evaluate the damage. He said the tree could not be saved. Dwayne is a certified arborist with many years of experience, very personable, helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable. We agreed to have them remove the tree and grind out an additional 7 old stumps for $2200. It seemed like a very reasonable price considering the size of the tree. Dwayne said he thought they could get to the work the next week and that Melinda would call me to schedule. At the end of the next week I called since nothing had been scheduled. No response. I emailed and received a response that they were swamped due to other storm damage from that same storm, but that they should be able to get to the tree the following week. We didn't hear anything again. So on 7/2/20, I called and left a message that we were interested in using their services, but that we needed to have this scheduled and would begin looking for another company since Mid Ohio appeared unable to get us on the schedule. We were uncomfortable with the possibility of the damaged tree falling onto the county road, so we decided not to wait any longer and found another company that could do the work the next day for $2700. We would have preferred to use Mid Ohio Tree Service, but received no response from them that day, so that evening we called the other company and arranged the work. I sent an email canceling our agreement with Mid Ohio. Soon after, Melinda called and said she understood our choice, but wanted me to know she had called and left a message with me that morning. I did not have any message in my voicemail.

They showed up on time and got right to work. As the trees came down, another crew showed up to grind the stumps and smooth the area. It was nice to have everything done all at one time. They did a great job and cleaned up everything.

I wanted a tree (along with the stump) removed from my front yard. Mid Ohio Tree Service was quick to leave an estimate and quick to schedule me in. One day they removed the tree, the next day they removed the stump and any large branches left from the first day. Did a great job in cleaning up and filling in the hole where the stump was. I was told I could mail a check or call with a credit card payment. Did not have to take off work while they removed the tree. Mid Ohio Tree Service made the process easy and hassle free. Would definitely hire again.

They did an outstanding job. Very nice and polite gentleman, the price was reasonable and we will use them again, I will recommend them to others.

Two different crews came out to remove a tree and then to grind stumps. Each crew did great! They were very respectful, did their job, and cleaned up after themselves. The only issue I had was in contacting the office, They weren't as responsive at returning my calls.

They quoted $475.00 for the tree trimming. I hired another company that charged half of that. I gave them instructions to call before they came out. They didn't call and just showed up. When I tried to call them back it went to voicemail. They are not responsive to the customer. I would not hire Mid Ohio Tree Service.

Wonderful job. Came with all the right equipment and crew, worked non-stop, then cleaned up.

I had to have the trees removed because of serious storm damage which left a large limb suspended in the top of one of the trees. I called Mid Ohio on 7/14. They gave me an estimate on 7/20. I accepted the estimate, and they cut the trees on 7/22 and ground the stumps on 7/23. I was more than a little impressed with the responsiveness. The crew arrived at 8:30 and were finished by 3:30. The crew was very hard working and efficient, and they took only a very short lunch break. The workers were friendly and professional. They arrived with a large bucket truck when they said they would and showed significant skill in removing the trees without damaging anything. They also had to work near a relatively busy road which complicated locating the equipment. They cut the logs and limbs for lumber and fire wood the way I requested and cleaned up when they were done. For grinding the stumps, they brought two large stump grinders and finished both stumps in less than two hours. A second crew did the stump grinding, and they were just as friendly and professional as the crew that cut down the trees.

2 crews arrived on time with manual climbing equipment, a bucket truck, and a chipper shredder. Both crews were very professional in their approach to the handling and shaping of each tree. They spent a great deal of time climbing into the interior of each tree to thin and dead wood branches. Bucket truck was used extensively to trim and shape large trees in front of and near the house. Crews were very polite and obviously experienced. Worked steadily until 7:30 or 8:00 p.m. to complete the job in one day. Clean up was excellent and thorough. Extremely satisfied with their work. Will not hesitate to use them again.

They did a great job and exceeded my expectations. I was concerned about the trucks on my cement driveway and making a mess driving in the yard. This was never an argument they stayed off the driveway and did not drive in the yard which created more work for them, hauling all the brush farther than they would have had to drag it. It was 15 degrees and the wind was blowing but they stayed with it and did a great job cleaning the yard. The trunk of the big maple in the front needed to be cut several times so I could handle it, this they did even better that I thought they might. The best thing about all this is that there was never a hassle they did as I asked and did not try and argue about what I wanted. Great Job!

Mid West did an awesome job and even cut other limbs. The clean up job was awesome!

Everything went very well except it initially took several days for them to get back to me because they misplaced their quote estimate. I had to keep calling them to set up the date because I needed them removed within a week. No big problem though and everything worked out great and better than expected. I would use them again.

Bill came promptly to take a look at the tree branch on the roof and give us an estimate on the work we needed done (even though it was a busy time, with much storm damage in the area). We were able to schedule the work promptly, too. Four men came to the house as scheduled. They were very professional.....they knew what they were doing. They had the equipment they needed...like a and quot;bucketand quot; so they could get up where they needed to cut. They were very adaptable, also, and were willing to do whatever we wanted done. Of their own accord, they even took down two bird feeders that were near one of the trees they were trimming so they wouldn't be damaged, and they put them back up before they left. Everything was cleaned up wonderfully before they left. They chipped and hauled away everything. Our trees look so much better! (and safer, too!)

Dropped 2 dead trees on back of property, cut into 4 ft segments and left. Followed all instructions. No issues, will use again

My overall experience with them has been excellent. We have been using them for years and we have had very good experience with them. We use them about every other year. They have a certified arborist. They deal with a wide range of services. With the tree trimming, they do not over trim or under trim and I am really happy with how they do that. They are local and they are based here in Lancaster, which is handy. They are very good about cleaning up. They get the stumps out. Whatever we have asked them to do they have done a good job with.

We had two maple trees near the house, weakened by a previous wind storm, that needed to be removed. They responded to my call the same day and set up a time for removal. Due to a mechanical break down It took a little more time than I expected for them to return and remove the stumps, but the job was done well, they were very professional and cleaned the area completely when finished. It went basically seamless. We had a bad storm come through Baltimore and it took a big limb off of the neighbor's tree and it ended up on our lattice work fence, down on part of the garage and patio. We got that all cleaned up but the rest of the tree that was there was in pretty sad shape. It was a big tree so there were other people that looked at it. For us, if the tree would have come down it would have crushed the dinning room and the kitchen. The neighbor and I got together and I told him that we should get it taken down. I called Mid Ohio Tree Service and told the guy the circumstances and I had dealt with him before many years ago, and believe it or not he remembered me. I told him we needed to get it taken down before the next storm comes through because I certainly didn't want it in my kitchen and dining room. As busy as they were I was very surprised. I figured it would take them a couple of weeks but as it turned out that Thursday they called and after the lady talked to me she asked if they could schedule for that Friday. I said that would be great. They have a big bucket truck that they use to start at the top and start working their way down. When they drop something they make sure they know where they are going to drop it and if they think it might be something other than what they want they tie it off. They are really professional.

All three jobs went beautifully! The hawthorne tree and its stump were cleanly removed. The pruning is artistic but natural and the trees look better than ever.

They did a good job. The price was fantastic. A tree hit the side when they were cutting the trees but their insurance company took care of it. They were honest and upfront about it all. We were satisfied with what they did and the outcome.

We recently purchased a home and planned on spending the summer landscaping the front and backyards. The home had 7 yews in the front yard that needed to be removed before we could really get in to redoing the yard. A neighbor was using Mid Ohio Tree Service and we got their number from one of the service men. Mid Ohio Tree has 3 phone numbers, none of which are answered on a regular basis. We did get a hold of someone and scheduled an estimate. The estimate occurred quickly and the gentleman performing the estimate was both prompt and professional, the office staff and the men that came to do the 'work' left a lot to be desired. We were in agreement with the estimate and called to schedule the service -- no one answered and no one called us back. I called back 2 days later and left a message -- no one called us back. When someone did pick up I was told they were very busy and would try to 'fit' us in. After begging, I finally got the removal scheduled. The men did arrive on time, though made reference that this was a 'small' job and they were moving on to a more profitable job immediately after. They removed the bushes and told us they would return to grind down the stumps...however it has been several weeks and they've never returned to finish the job. I've called weekly and still nothing. We've now contacted another company and will never use Mid Ohio Tree service again, nor will we recommend them to anyone. A very poor, unprofessional experience overall. **Update*** The day I posted this review Mid Ohio Tree did show up and removed the bushes.

They were good and we liked them. I asked them to please save the tree and they did. They were patient with my whining because they didn't want to save the tree and I did. They showed up on time and they did what I wanted. They cleaned up after themselves and they stuck around to make sure the sap would be off of the tree. That was important to me because I take care of children and I didn't want them eating it. They told me to call them in two years and they would re-inject the tree if it was still sustainable.
