Description of Work: Seasonal furnace check performed to my satisfaction; I've used this company for the last 2 yrs for HVAC checks. The Their BIG DEAL offer of $39 is very reasonable. However at this year's check I was told I could no longer get the Big Deal for $39 because it is not cost effective for them if that's the only purchase I'm making. That was not printed on the initial certificate I bought, but they did add the policy statement to my final printed invoice after verbally telling of their new policy. The effect is that I would have to pay a higher price in the future. Although I do like their service, I don't agree to paying more unnecessarily. Therefore, I'll go with whatever company offers me the best quality service and price for my HVAC system work in the future. Maybe their price will win. That's the beauty of a free market! I wish them well regardless.

Description of Work: Nice technician, however he did not explain there was a charge to the services he was providing. For example, he said my furnace filter was dirty and he wanted to replace it; I assumed it came with the service call because he didn't ask me, he merely told me. Needless to say I finally figured it out when he informed me I had a choice of how much freon to replenish. Overall nice technician

Description of Work: Replaced furnace. I bought a big deal and they took care of everything without any hidden fees. My husband got the feeling that were not top priority since we were a big deal purchase; they weren't exactly in a rush to schedule us. Overall, professional and quality service.

Description of Work: They came to do estimate of the work. When done they said it will contact me within 3 days. Almost 10 days later no one contacted me so I called for a follow up. They said it was a complete oversight for not calling and make an appointment to install the furnace. Installation was done within 4 or 5 days after I called and the crews were professional and pleasant. Overall Im happy with the service minus the oversight on their part.

Description of Work: I want to forewarn Angie's List users about the "Big Deals." We purchased a $400 deal to get a new humidifier added to our gas furnace. I was picturing one of the "whole house humidifiers" like pictured in the photo on the ad. When the serviceman arrived, we found the item to be installed was about the same as the small "drip" unit we already had, by the same manufacturer. Ours wasn't working, so the technician said he could fix ours for $100 less than the "Big Deal." We agreed. Later on we were to find that the $400 we had paid for the deal was not money that could be used for a different Angie's deal that we might find useful. Instead we now have a $400 credit with this heating and cooling company and must wait for an opportunity to hire them to get our money "back." Our furnace is new and the AC hasn't given us any problems. I just hope we remember it is there when the time comes to use it many years down the road! |All that said, Pickerington Heating and Cooling did a great job, and we thought the service provider did us a favor by saving us $100. We didn't follow up quickly with Angie's List, because it was out of sight, out of mind. When we saw another Big Deal that we could have used, I was informed that we'd let our window of opportunity lapse. As I said, be forewarned.
