There are very few people who would have the temperment and craftsmanship to renovate a kitchen in our home. My home was built in 1888, moved onto the existing land and foundation and added onto in 1912 and a further addition was added in 1992. The space to be remodeled was actually constructed in all of these time periods. The floors and walls were wavy, the 1992 ceiling was hung crooked, and the overall building structure, both old and "new", was challenging, to say the least. Rob was always reassuring, and most importantly, always honest. During the process if he came across something that was improperly done by the previous owners/builders he brought it to my attention and we came up with a proper way to address the problem. In addition, when the ceiling became an issue, Rob was concerned that I was not going to get the "kitchen I wanted". (This was a turning point in my opinion of him because he used those very words and I was struck by the fact that my contractor was actually concerned that I was going to compromise too much from my original design to accomodate the oddities of my old home) In fact, that is hardly the case. I got a kitchen that is beautifully constructed, behind the walls, as well as in front of them. The finish carpentry is outstanding and really sets his work apart from other builders. During every stage, Rob took the time to educate me on the mechanics of my project. No item or issue was too small for me to be informed of and involved in the resolution of. It made my finished kitchen come out better than I could have hoped for. I will certainly use him again and I do pass his name along whenever possible. Rob is wonderful to work with and I was fortunate to find him.

We had used them previously to do our kitchen. We paid a considerable amount of money. It was a very, very positive experience. It is a very confidential type of organization. Any subcontractors they brought in are absolutely top-notch individuals if you have kids or dogs in your house. They feel like they are part of the family, which is weird because we didn't expect that dealing with contractors. The quality of work was very, very good especially because of the historical landmark classification, the historical work they did was unbelievable and especially for the price.
Description of Work: We used Rockwood Custom Builders to do a remodel/renovation project. It was an addition type job including the foundation, structure and frame. It was from the ground up and it was matching historic work. It was a renovation but a lot of it was from the ground up.
