Bell Custom Concrete

After telling me for more than a month that he'd do the job for me, he backed out at the last minute. That left me in a difficult position of finding another company to get the job done in time for the metal structure that was scheduled for delivery.

Tim returned my call promptly, listened to the issue (and my desperate plea) and said he would come take a look, although he warned me that he was booked for over a month out and if he found the problem, he wouldn't be able to fix it for a few weeks. Not only did Tim find the problem, but he he fixed it sooner than expected and for a very fair price. He even went above and beyond what he planned to do so it would be done right. I was at the point of desperation and although my job was very small, Tim took great care of me. I will be recommending Bell's Concrete to everyone, without hesitation, and will use them in the future for any concrete needs that I have!

It went very well. Work was completed earlier than expected. Communication was excellent. All questions were answered. We highly recommend them.

Communication was good but the overall wait time was more than a month. This is a seasonal industry so I accept that. They found an opening within a week of discussion and got the job done within one day. The end product looks great.

very good, thought i might have drainage issues but they were able to have the water drain in a fasion which i would not need to install a drain.

After meeting on 5/27/14 to look at the work, Bubba Bell quoted me to do the French Drain. I called him on 6/5/14, and told him I would like to do the work in September. He agreed that this would be a good time. I called him on 9/3/14 to discuss a start date, and he informed me that he never put me on his schedule. Therefore I was out of luck for 2014, and we would have to reschedule for summer of 2015. I noticed that his quote had no date on it, so that should have told me something. No attention to detail, and very sloppy business practices. Either he did forget to put me on his schedule, or he simply had more lucrative concrete jobs to do for the rest of this year. Either way, I was tossed aside and had to start over with someone new, after waiting for Bubba since May. I won't deal with someone like that in the future.

Bell's did a great job removing an asphalt driveway and leveling out the area and adding topsoil. They also added two sets of cement steps in the same area. With all the rain we received in July, the topsoil was washed out. Bell's came back to finish the job and also replaced the topsoil!! I was very impressed!

We left for vacation on the day the construction started, returning briefly a couple of times during the week. (Our vacation cottage is only a 45 min. drive from our house.) The first time I returned, there were several men working on the project, and everything was going smoothly. The sidewalk and half the drive were poured. I talked briefly with Mr. Bell to ask how things were going. Everything was O.K. but he was concerned about disrupting traffic when he brought trucks to pour the top half of the drive. He must have figured it out because the second time I came, the drive was completed and taped off. It looked beautiful - especially the sidewalk. Also, I didn't need to pay anything until the job was done.

He was straight forward and I took his suggestions. They did a good job, were punctual, and finished within their estimate.

I had contacted many different contractor to have a portion of our driveway poured, but found it difficult to get even so much as a call back from most. Tim Bell was one of the most responsive and prompt contractors I contacted. He called back within 30 minutes after leaving a message and was out to do an estimate within a couple days. He seemed to be the most concerned with customer service and working around our schedule. Since I travel for a living this was a huge plus for me.Tim was upfront about the work he had on the books already and the possible timeline to get the work done. We contacted them in early spring (March) to insure we could get on the schedule early. After we got the quote I took a couple days to consider it and then chose to go with them. We were told it would probably be May or June before they could get to it, mainly because of the weather and some other jobs they had ahead of us.Tim called at the beginning of May and said they had a schedule change and if they could come out to our house that Monday we could get our job done early. It worked out and 3 days later they were at our house prepping the area. They would have poured the next day, but the weather was not cooperating. They were able to get out several days later and dispite a little rain the day they poured they were able to get the driveway in and looking great.We were instructed to stay off of it for a couple days and not drive on it for 7 to 10 days. It is now July and we are loving the function and look of our new drive. It is easier to clean our vehicles and much easier for me to move our boat in and out of the detached garage.Tim was great and I will be recommending and using them for any concrete needs.

Was deciding between a stamped patio or regular concrete patio. Being a patio and not a driveway I was particular on appearance of the final product. Was a little disappointed with the finish product. Didn't know and was not told that we would need a lot of fill dirt after concrete was poured to cover not only the cement but also the limestone base. There was a slope to our yard so would expect this towards the bottom, but even by the house fill dirt was needed. On the scoring of the concrete the next day, it wasn't perfect, there are a couple nicks in the concrete with the scoring. On the prep they did the day before pouring the concrete, they place forms on two of the three sides. I didn't see the actual pouring as I worked that day (my husband was home), but after it was poured the corner of the third side was a little messy and the side that I didn't see the form, I can see where two edges meet in the middle of the side. We were going to pay for this with Visa as advertised on Angie's list but was told he takes cash or check only. Now the good things about Bell's. He called or emailed with the estimate and responded when we had questions about the patio. Both him and his workers were personable. He didn't require a down payment or expect payment until after the job was completed. He came back the last day to clean up any concrete that splattered on the siding or sliding glass doors or screen. We decided to add dirt to the top of the concrete patio (about 5 yrds), and have planted the grass seed. I think the problems that I had with this company is that they fit us in between his larger jobs. I know the day he did our patio was after he already been pouring a driveway ( and maybe a basement ) earlier that day. He stated he had been working since 6am that day and he didn't start us until 1pm. It was his last job of the day. If I had it to do over again, I would go for the stamped patio. Not because of the stamping, but because that is their only product and that is their specialty, not one of many things they do. When he came out for the estimate I got the impression that he was a perfectionist with his work.

It's a little early to give feedback, but so far I am pleased with the work that was done. The quote was accurate. The service was prompt. He responded quickly about coming out and giving a quote. The billing matched what was quoted. I was pleased with the work that was done.

They did an excellent job for us and were very professional. I recommend them for any concrete work that you would like to have done. Tim showed patience and professionalism while working under extremely hot and muggy conditions. He even came back later that day when there was a threat of hard rain to make sure that the sidwalk was covered if the rain became too hard and could damage it.

I am very pleased with the work. The weather was bad during the job but they worked while they could and did a great job. The company and employees seemed very professional.

It went as smooth as silk. They arrived on time, ready to work and work they did, w/out stopping until the job was done. No prima donnas, no foul mouths, just a good crew that takes pride in their work. Bubba, the owner, stopped by several times unannounced to inspect the work. They also reseeded both sides of my driveway and anywhere that got torn up in the process of tear out and installation and they cleaned the siding on my house where concrete dust had settled. All this work was done for $2000.00 LESS than other estimates for just the driveway alone. It's easy to see why this company is so successful. You can safely hire this company w/total confidence that the job will be done professionally, courteously and on time.
