Services we don't offer
Call us with your needs - we will tell you if we can do it! However, we do try to avoid "second story" high ladder window treatment installations, which have to be out-sourced at additional cost.
Joyce and Don did a wonderful job. Worked with me to get the feel of what I wanted. Scouted out some options. Very flexible and responsive to phone calls, and always on time for appointments. One window treatment had a minor problem about 3 months after installation and Don came out right away and fixed it. I am getting more work done from them and would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Completed window treatments for my home and my daughters home.

As I mentioned previously Joyce does quality sewing work and her husband, Don, hangs window treatments. They work as a team. I like that because there is no workroom blaming the installer or the installer blaming the workroom. They work together and figure it out. They are both lovely people and I find them to be honest and hard-working. After working with Complete Window Fashions for four years on a regular basis, I can think of NO complaints. I would recommend them highly.
Description of Work: Joyce Wichert most recently made pillow shams and a dust ruffle for me. I am an interior designer and I have used Joyce for many jobs at my own house and with clients. I have found her work to be of the highest quality at very fair prices. She shows up on time, is a consumate professional and always has a smile on her face. I have never had a problem with her or her work. I look forward to seeing her and am deeply appreciative of the working relationship we've developed over the years. One of Joyce's best qualities is that she is willing to do window treatments that are unusual or difficult and she does it without drama or complaint. In fact, she relishes the challenge.

I located Joyce Wichert of Designer's Sitchery AKA Complete Window Fashions AKA Morning Song Skin Care Products in the Bainbridge weekly newspaper under the classifieds for someone to design and make custome drapes for a 4300 sq ft house here in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. We met and decided that we would start with 3 rooms to start, that being a custom roman shade for the laundry room, another roman shade for the service entrance door and custom drapes, tables skirts and valences for the master bedroom. I gave Joyce a deposit of $500.00 to start on October 20th. I signed an engagement contract for which she did not give me a copy when asked and said she would mail it and she gave me no receipt for my deposit, also for which she said she would mail. I received neither. After approximately one month later she returned to our home with some fabric selections for which we agreed would work and decided to proceed with the project. It is now Saturday, December 4th and Joyce has called to say that she will not do the job for reasons she would not explain. I asked her to return all my items, fabric, valence, silk table skirt (a template) for which she did, but neglected to refund my entire deposit, as I am still missing $165.00. During our initial meeting, Joyce spoke about being a "Christian" which interested me, but meanwhile speaking poorly of her husband while he was only a few feet away from us. I called Joyce approximately 7-10 time and her wonderful, nice husband Don gracefully took messages for her, but she never returned phone calls. She 100% DOES NOT keep her word on anything and takes depsits, does no work and refunds only a portion of your deposit. I will not be able to collect the rest of my funds which I could have spend on Christmas presents for my children. Do not be deceived that she is some kind of a "sweet old lady" because she'll take your money all the way to the bank and you won't here from her again.

Response from Complete Window Fashions
1.) Full refund was provided: Contrary to her claim, the $500 deposit was returned to her – (a refund check of $337.05 and the un-cut fabric and trim, valued at $162.95, and purchased by us at her direction). 2.) Impossible communications: Complainant failed to respond to our numerous ‘phone calls and voice mail messages needed to resolve questions regarding changes she requested. (She cancelled one fabric color to go to another, and then changed back to the original, after we had already informed our vendor to cancel the shipment.) It is difficult to move forward with the project when it is uncertain and keeps changing. Nevertheless, she had her husband called several times to asking if the job was finished yet! 3.) Straw that broke the camel’s back: In one of the few direct communications we had with her she revealed that we were the fourth decorator to work on her house, none of the previous being able to do a job that was good enough for her! If we had been made aware of this fact at the beginning, we would never have accepted the job! (Would you?) 4.) A big imagination: When a customer makes a request for Roman shades, one of our primary concerns is for the safety of children in the house, since there have been numerous instances where children have choked on the strings that operate Roman shades. When asked about children in the house we were told, “there are no children”! Yet, in her complaint, she claims the $162.95 (deducted for the fabric returned to her) “could have been spent on Christmas presents for my children”! 5.) No copy of Contract or Receipt for Deposit received?: At the time of a sale, our practice is to always provide a copy of the hand written Job Work Order detailing the work to be done, the cost, and listing the deposit submitted with the order. Contrary to her claim, a copy of the hand written Work Order was provided the complainant and, in fact, did list the check number and amount of the deposit! In addition, a formal, typed, work order was mailed within a few days, again specifying the deposit amount submitted! 6.) “Sweet old lady” threatened!: In addition to her unnecessary and un-called-for remarks about religion, etc. in her letter, the complainant also made telephone threats against Joyce. These threats were considered serious enough for us to file an official police report with the Geauga County Sheriff’s Department! 7.) 20 years with no complaints: Complete Window Fashions by Designer’s Stitchery has been in business since 1990. To our knowledge, this is the first complaint made against us. Unfortunately, it represents a situation where it was apparent that we could not communicate effectively with, work with, or please this client. Be assured, however, that providing our customers with only the best possible product and services remains our primary objective.
