State Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc., is one of the best HVAC company in the area. Our sole purpose is to make sure that the customer is happy with our work. Please call us and go to our website, thank you for your time.
"State Heating and Air Conditioning installed my central air and went above and beyond. My schedule was hard to accommodate dude to work and moving from another city. We had some mix ups but Scott installed portable units until everything could be fully installed so my brick house wouldn’t be an oven. Sal and Nick did my install and were very helpful. They were nice enough to put up my new carbon monoxide alarm and changed the filter in my furnace without me asking, just being helpful gentlemen. Now I have AC and I’m a happy camper. Great company, great people. The young ladies in the office were also great. I think her name was Nicole; she made sure to call me back before she left for the day as promised when I had a scheduling issue."

"I would have given a 5 star rating if the obnoxious, rude, owner had not called and screamed at me because he had to honor a 5% coupon (he has since removed) and I questioned him insisting on sending me an email by check! The son is very nice but the father is unprofessional and a jerk! Here is what happened: I initially dealt with Joseph Leonetti, who is the son of the owner to check my A/C and to install Puron. He was very nice on the phone and offered to come out the day that I sent the request through Angi which was 6-26-24. He was at my home from 12:45 to 2:10, was extremely polite, and nice. I even asked him while he was in the house checking my furnace (for the A/C) if he would just look at a water tank (about 20 feet away) that I had just installed because I thought I smelled a slight bit of gas. He walked over, looked real quick and said he would grab his wrenches because the gas pipe to the water tank just needed tightened. He was setting gages on my furnace as he was charging the A/C so he had to go out and then come back in, anyway. He did say one thing that was peculiar, when he looked at my furnace, which is a down-flow because my house is on a slab, he said he “only saw one of these once before.” It’s a new furnace, and I told him that “all the houses on my street are designed pretty much the same, and therefore, we can only have this.” He said that my A/C unit needed 5 ½ pounds of refrigerant and so as we were adding up the bill, he told me that he was going to charge me $80 per pound for the refrigerant, plus $85 for the service call, plus $62.50 for the extra time. He also used my bathroom, so, the time seemed OK. When I was making out my check, I asked him for the bill and he told me he didn’t have any way of giving me one and would have to mail it. I told him I “wanted something in writing…I couldn’t just make out a check.” He then said that the business started this new computerized invoicing program, but he wasn’t sure how to work it on his phone but would try. I told him to just send me something by email, so that I could see it and then I would give him his check. The total was for $587.50 At the same time, I also reminded him that there was a discount because I was an Angi member. He said that he didn’t know anything about a discount and couldn’t give it. I insisted and I had printed out (my error) a coupon that was on their personal website and not the one on Angi, and gave it to him. Unfortunately, it was for a furnace & A/C inspection which he said he did not apply for what he did, therefore it wasn’t any good. I then said, “but I know that I get a discount because of Angi, which you advertise on.” He said I don’t know about that and why would we give a discount when we pay them for leads?” I then explained that you would (technically) make it up in the volume of leads you would get from Angi and thus, a new client base.” Anyway, we were going back and forth and he was struggling with just emailing the bill so I just made the check for the full amount and told him I was going to check into this. We shook hands and he left, again, very nice! I had several things I had to attend to so I didn’t contact him until later. There was a 5% coupon on Angi by the company offered for services and that they basically owed me $29.38. (As of this afternoon, 6-28-24, I see that someone went in and changed it to $1.00 off…really?) Joseph was incredibly nice (again) on the phone. He initially asked me to give him my bank information, which I would not do. I told him that I trusted him and to just drop a check in the mail to me. He then said he would. On 6-27-24, I was busy all day long and received several calls from Joe but was unable to talk to him directly. I called his voice mail and told him (again) to just drop a check in the mail and gave my complete address. On 6-28-24, he sends me an email that an invoice was emailed to me last night with a check for the refund. At that point, I DID NOT receive that email….yet. So, I sent this email: I have never heard of that and don't think that is legal. I was a former banker. A physical signed check is legal, not something emailed and printed. In fact doing something like that might get you flagged for fraud. You don't want that, especially today with all the heightened security. You have no idea how that could be a problem for you. If you don't have access to writing a check, you can have your bank send me a check via an official bank check. You should call your bank...Thanks Dee I was trying to be nice because I didn’t want this guy to get into any kind of trouble and thought that he was getting bad information somewhere. Since he told me he was trying to build his own business, I thought I was telling him something that he didn’t know and trying to help him from getting into trouble! I also thought it was odd about why it was such a big deal to get a check made out if they are such a large, established business. At 8:30 a.m. I get a phone call from a “Dennis” Leonetti, who told me he “was the owner of the company” and was literally screaming at me on the phone that “he didn’t have to time to waste for this ____, and if you were a former banker than you should know that you can accept this email check that I sent you, ______, going on and on and he was blowing a fuse at me about this! Had he taken a moment to think about it, I was obviously not familiar and should have been polite and just explained, or better yet, just hand wrote a check and called it a day. Instead, he was screaming, rude, profane, and obnoxious. I interrupted and told him he “was unprofessional and rude” and hung up the phone on him! I don’t need to be spoken to or treated that way! Being a business person myself, I have never ever spoken to a client like that, nor would I. Secondly, between not letting his son know about the coupon posted on Angi, not providing him with an actual invoice book in his car for jobs and/or the ability to give invoices for work completed, and then to blow up over refunding a customer $29.38 speaks volumes about his business and him! The son told me that his father was turning the business over to him and that meantime, he was trying to build up his own client base. I had told him that I would gladly refer him and even had a friend who recently talked about replacing/checking her furnace and would give her his name…which I actually did…and have now told her to “forget it!” This young man needs to go out on his own and build his own business or, give his father some lessons in manners and courtesy. He obviously learned that from his mother, not his father! Based on the rude, obnoxious, and profane behavior of the owner of this company, I would never recommend them or deal with them again! I took the paperwork to my bank and they too, questioned this “emailed” check, but processed it and said that if it came back, they would not charge me, but rather this person. I will know within the next day or so if that happens. Meanwhile, I just hope that this A/C situation is resolved and that I don’t have a problem with that, too!"

Yes, most states require HVAC technicians to be certified, and for good reason. Hiring an uncertified HVAC pro could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations. A certified HVAC technician tackling your home projects protects you as a homeowner.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Certified” badge. Angi Certified businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Knowing how long your existing HVAC units can last is essential to determine if you need a repair or replacement. Typically, most modern air conditioning units can last between 15 to 20 years, and most furnaces can work properly for 15 to 30 years. If your HVAC system is on the older side and you decide to replace one unit, it might make sense to replace both simultaneously to save on costs and future hassle.
While different HVAC contractors might offer higher or lower prices than competitors, the best time to replace your HVAC system is when customer demand is low. The beginning of summer and the beginning of winter bring the most demand for HVAC systems, so if you can, consider replacing your HVAC units in the early spring or fall. Many HVAC companies offer special off-season coupons that help lower the overall cost.
The average cost to hire an HVAC contractor is between $50 and $150 per hour if charging hourly. However, some HVAC contractors will charge a flat fee by the type of service they are performing—for example, an inspection can cost between $150 to $500. Keep in mind that emergency repairs—which are made after business hours or around major holidays—generally cost more than scheduled repairs.
The average cost of HVAC repairs is around $350. However, that price can be as low as $100 or as high as $2,000 or more, depending on the repair. For example, replacing a capacitor is a relatively inexpensive repair, ranging from $100 to $500. However, a compressor repair is a more expensive repair, ranging from $750 to $2,000.
