+ -1 moreThey did not tune up furnace but charged me for the call. Said I have a cracked heat exchange but did not supply a reading. Gave me an estimate for a new furnace instead, and still charged me for the tune up, even though they did nothing to the furnace.

+ -1 moreSuper! Solved the issue with the humidifier. Inspected and cleaned furnace. Don went out of his way to search for and pick up the part that was missing in my humidifier kit that was incorrectly installed by someone else. He was pleasant to work with, very personable man. The water flow on the humidifier was through the roof, but is now functioning correctly. He explained everything about how it works with the parts and about the availability of parts, as mine is an older model. I have peace of mind knowing that it will function throughout this winter. I will definitely call them again for future heating or cooling inspections and repairs. I really appreciate his going the extra mile, especially during a holiday.

+ -1 moreWell. Replaced malfunctioning solenoid with OEM part - not after-market part that won't last. Made the repair more costly upfront but tech said after-market part would likely fail in a year or two and I'd have to pay for another one plus the service call/labor fee all over again. Also serviced the connected whole-home humidifier (new waterfall filter - again OEM part that won't mold as easily).

+ -1 moreThey are a family company that I use. They are a little pricier than other people but, they are worth it. I got a coupon from them. They always come when they say they're going to come. They clean up well. I have gotten a couple of furnaces from them. They were fast but did it right. They got it up and running quickly. It took them about three hours. They were here on time. I would use them again.

Description of Work: I waited two hours past my appt time (hence the D rating on punctuality) and then called to see if they were coming. I think they forgot me, but they sent someone out shortly thereafter (hence the B rating on responsiveness). The tech identified two parts that needed replacing. He didn't have them on the truck but made me wait an hour and a half without heat during a snowstorm to go get them from the shop. He came back and installed them and then told me that it would be well over one hundred dollars for the parts in addition to the original $79 furnace checkup fee. Most furnace guys include some labor in the checkup fee and you just pay extra for parts. Shortly thereafter, another furnace guy told me that neither of the parts needed replacing. I protested with the BBB and my credit card company and the owner got unbelieveably nasty instead of just finding a way to work out an agreeable compromise. He would make an offer and then renege on it the next day. He called me names and made threats. This company is too expensive and I believe that they try to find ways to charge extra.

+ -1 moreBest Heating & Cooling was called out by my waterproofing company to reconnect my A/C unit. Matt went above and beyond. The unit was too close to the house, code violation, and in a low area that was getting covered with rainwater during storms. Even though this was not the job he was called out for, it didn't matter. Matt moved the unit off the slab, moved everything by hand to higher ground with proper distance from the house, then put the unit back on the slab. He showed me the disconnect was missing the inside part (when pulled last fall) and was not the proper type when installed by the original HVAC company. He ran out to pickup a new, fused, disconnect box, came back and reconnected the unit to the house and filled with refrigerant, tested and all good. A job well done!

+ -1 moreOur furnace quit heating right during a few 30 degree evenings. I called first thing on Saturday morning and left a message and was called back by Don within 30 mins. Their visit fee was quoted as $65 which was much lower than two other places I called that were well over $125. He arrived within 30 mins and assessed our 17 year old furnace. He gave us options to replace all the inside parts for $1400 or install a new more efficient unit at $2100 or a better unit, based on size and warranty for $400 more. He also checked the AC unit which was working but under sized for our house, which we already knew. So we decided to replace both and we received a $500 credit from them. Our final cost for both was $5400. Based on the other companies reviews I've read on Angie's this seemed to be a good deal. BTW they never charged us the first visit fee because we ordered the services. Don, Matt and Alex were very courteous and always willing to answer our questions. Very nice people to work with as well.

+ -1 moreThe price was a little expensive. They were extremely personable and they are family owned which I like. He and his son came out to do the work. Scheduling was easy and they were able to come out quickly. I had left a message and within 10 minutes I received a call back to schedule the appointment.
Description of Work: We blew the circuit card on our furnace. They were able to replace with a whole new card. This is the second time I have used their services.

+ -1 moreThe experience with the Best Heating and Cooling technician was excellent. My wife explained the problem, the technician went about diagnossing the problem. He found the leak and the clog in the piping that was causing the leak and was able to clear the leak. Very satisfied.
Description of Work: Best sent a technician to fix a water leak problem with our air conditioner system. They diagnosed a clogged drain, got the clog cleared. Our A/C no longer leaks water.
